Good morning! 27 days until Spring!! Right now it's 17° and clear. Garlic chicken was delicious. I took the chicken off of the bones and shredded it. I blended the small amount of the defatted juice and used it on rice. Tonight Bill is cooking. We are having fresh kielbasa, sautéed cabbage and fried potatoes. Our Baldwin medicals are now scheduled for next Tuesday in Londonderry. Works out well since we are meeting friends for lunch there. Duchess is doing OK. She is staying in Jeff's bedroom under his bed unless he is there watching TV. When she came to my mother, she spent 3 days in hiding so it sounds like a normal adjustment for her. I do miss her!!! Hope to get back later today to chat. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Hello! Today is World Kombucha Day, National Pancake Day, and National Sticky Bun Day.
Another slow-moving morning for me with the chilly temperatures. It was 47* earlier this morning when I woke up and now it's up to 55*. Won't complain however, as we should see a bright sunny day, high of 70*, perfect for my bike ride.
Ann, glad to hear that your Dutchess is doing well with the move. Of course, you miss her---it's amazing how our pets become our children, but it's so nice to know that she's with someone you know will take the best of care of her.
Dinner this evening will be a big salad with leftover chicken cut up and placed on top. Waving to all and wishing you a beautiful day! Lori

Good morning.
Kind of damp feeling out there this morning. I'm sure it's from all the rain in Cali. We too could get some showers off and on from that, as well as some wind. The temp is 56 now heading to 74 later today.
The mattress is not working out well at all. I'm hurting in places I've never hurt before. I'm calling Kevin this morning to see if I can trade or something. I've not slept well but once.
This morning I am going to get my nails done and then stop at the $ tree. I don't need anything, just need to get out and look around. I'll stop at a couple other small places on the way home too. It will be so nice when the snowbirds leave and I can get out more without so much congestion on the roads and in the stores. And get back to church too. Our little church is packed this time of year, which is good for the church.
Last night I so enjoyed watching one of my Little People shows on TLC. I'm not sure when the other one will start but at least one is on now.
Ann, I'm sure the adjustment is harder on you than Dutchess. She is in a good loving home at least.
Lori, maybe I'll have to stop at the bakery on the way home for some sticky buns and really ruin my diet. LOL It's not going so well anyway.
If I remember to take out the ground turkey when finished here, I'll make chow mien for supper. Lunch will be a salad of some kind.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning everyone. Ann, thanks for the garlic chicken recipe. Copied. Nice that Duchess is settling in with her new family. I’m sure you miss her. Supper sounds so good. How I miss being able to eat kielbasa and other types of foods like that. And, don’t get me started on how much I miss raw veggies. Miss my salads. Soon you’ll have the medical behind you. Times getting closer for the move. Lori, boy that was sure a quick fix for the dryer. Your DH is a keeper, for sure. Mamma, sorry the mattress is not working for you. Ground turkey, hmmm, haven’t had that in a while. Must look for it next time I’m grocery shopping. Gotta go. Slept in and haven’t even done my b/pressure, not to mention haven’t had my coffee yet. Whoops. Bbl. Jan

Good morning all. Been up for ages, just didn't get here to post. I know Duchess will be well taken care of - you wouldn't have let her go to Jeff's otherwise. Just came back from my walk on the beach - not as long as usual but we want to/need to get to the grocery store this morning then headed to the golf course this afternoon. It was a chilly 39 early on but will be in the high 50s later on. At home it was high 20s and will climb to the low 40s. Got another e mail from the canning group group last night. Having been down to just 4 people a couple of weeks ago I was the only one missing yesterday. 2 others were on vacation, 1 was just taking a break (she is 89 so that's allowed 😮) and a other lady has been looking after her sister after she had knee replacement surgery. The group has been averaging close to 100 jars each week, so we are getting a nice stash of products ready for the markets come May. Sounds like a lovely day for a bike ride Lori. I think we'll probably go out for supper tonight as golf won't be over til about 6. A shame you're not happy with the mattress mamma. Hope you've had at least 1 cup of coffee by now Jan. Time to empty the dryer and then head to the store. Waving to all 👋.

Afternoon! It's warmed up quite a bit since this morning. It's now 42°. Just got out of the kitchen...cut up the pile of bell peppers I got on the sale table. They are not roasting in the oven with some onions and spices. It's Bill's turn in the kitchen! Bill dropped me off at the senior center, and I did walkaerobics then sat and chatted in the dining room until Bill got back from doing his errands. Lori - Love that kind of salad you are having tonight. Often when we have something like that, I'll run down to the Lebanese bakery for some warm pita. Sadly, I won't be able to do that much longer!!! Hope you enjoyed your bike ride. That's somethin'!...your DH is a master!!! Mamma - I like using ground turkey. Maybe I'll find another 3 pounds for $3.99 again this week!!! Tasty - That's an impressive stash for your markets! Enjoy your supper out tonight. Jan - I'm posting a picture of what my screen looks like so you can see what I was talking about...replying in one tab and reading posts in another. Back later!

Good morning. I'm finally getting around to posting. I have read everyday but it's late in the evenings. It's a beautiful morning. I really enjoyed my walk. I then went and got Coco for her walk. Bruce came back home to get me to play shuffleboard as Mark who started on Monday didn't show up. Maybe he didn't like it. So I went and played the 2 games with the guys.
Last night we met up with my sisters and their significant. Delores got here last week, she is heading back to Minnesota this weekend as she has her pet scan and other scans at the Mayo. She will be back next Thursday. She is really worried as her stomach has gotten big.
Tonight it will probably left over goulash. I do have chicken breasts going so might be fajitas tonight. I need tovthrow in some peppers soon.
I have a load of laundry going. Been doing a load everyday.
Tomorrow morning we have our tax preparation meeting. I hope it goes fast.
Tasty- you are getting a nice stash for the market.
Ann- glad Duchess is doing well.
Lori- you are lucky to have a hubby who can fix things.
Elaine

As you all know this morning I woke up in pain in areas I didn’t know could hurt. I had a bad night of discomfort with not much sleep. So I went to talk to Kevin after I got my nails done this morning. I tried out a different mattress and it felt a lot better. Support but not like a board.
It pays to buy local and family owned to boot. Tomorrow I will be getting a different mattress. This one will be medium firm and not extra firm. I thought I ordered a firm not extra firm. Oh well, just one more night to put up with the pain. Kevin was so very nice and didn’t make me feel badly about returning the one I had just gotten. I hate returning things. But at that kind of money I didn’t have a choice. It will still have a 10 year warranty. And if this one doesn’t work I can return it too. I”ll never buy from anywhere else, but I hope this is the last mattress I will need.
God is too good to me. I don’t deserve His loving grace, but yet He provides it so freely. I’m in tears with overwhelming gratitude.

Well boo! I lost another post even though I thought I had saved it. I had forgotten to sign in so nobody's fault but my own. Big weather news is it's 79 degrees here today. 😎 Turns out I didn't have the lasagna last nite for supper. I had a hankering for spaghetti so decided to make some instead. Probably have it for supper tonite, too. Hugs to all.

Hi ! It is 77 here right now. Cloudy when I got up but soon the sun appeared.
Mamma, I am happy to read that you can replace your mattress. Great news. I was going to suggest maybe selling it through Craigslist or something similar.
Sounds like a good day for everyone.
Today I had to drop the dog off at the groomer, paid the deposit on the new bathroom flooring, got a few groceries, and exchanged some large bills for small ones at the bank-for the shop.
There were donations left on the porch of the shop, so brought those inside then had to go and pick up the dog. Busy day, but an easy supper. Just have to warm up the gumbo and cook some rice.
I had a nice time in Houston yesterday. We left at 8, I stayed at Debbie's house until lunch time then we went and tried a new restaurant that just opened. I think it is just breakfast and lunch. She had eggs benedict and I had quiche. It was excellent. We drove around, shopped at the new British Market, and I was able to get my wonderful Heinz tomato soup. Guess what we had for lunch? Yep-soup. So good.
The rest of the afternoon was spent back at Debbie's. We got caught up on everything going on. Ruth finally showed up, after the last doctor appointment of the day. We visited then started for home. We stopped and got a burger for supper and ate on the drive home. I got back here at 9.
DH just got home. He is off a little early since he has board meeting tonight.
Waving to all!!

I'm finally getting on here! I was tired when I got home from work so didn't do much but practice a little bit until time for choir. Afterwards, DH & I tried a new place that is right beside the church -- Cheryl's Potato Boats. Giant baked potatoes with lots of toppings -- DH had ground beef & cheese, mine had chicken, broccoli, bacon & cheese. They were delicious and we brought about half of each one home for another meal. It is nice to have something close enough to walk to from the church!
Tomorrow I will go in an hour later since I went in early on Tuesday, so that will be nice. Hoping to get a little cleaning done since we'll leave Friday to go to DMIL's for the weekend. Time to get her taxes done!
Ann, glad you got the appointments rescheduled. Sounds perfect since you're meeting for lunch as well.
Mamma, I am so glad you checked to see if you could return the mattress. That is surely a huge weight off your mind. I like firm but the only time I slept on extra firm I didn't sleep at all, so I know that was no fun.
Jan, I can't do without my morning coffee! Although I did get out and go to the gym this morning pre-coffee. So I can wait for a little bit.
Tasty, I'm sure the canning group is missing you but everybody needs a break. I love that y'all keep at it all year so there's not a mad rush before the markets.
Elaine, I hope your sister gets good news from her doctor visits. I'm planning to get out and walk tomorrow morning.
Helen, we had spaghetti last week for the first time in a while and it surely was good. I finished up the leftovers on Saturday when DH was gone. Good stuff.
Tammy, what a nice day you had yesterday. Time with your friend, trying a new restaurant, and then getting old favorites at the British Market. That's a win!

Heinz tomato soup was a big favourite when I was a kid Tammy but I haven't had it in years.
