Bet, there will be 8, including DH & me. The host couple provides the main dish and beverages, with the others bringing sides, salad, bread, and dessert.
Jan, I don't remember where I learned that tip but it really helps loosen up all the "crud" that gets stuck to the inside so it's easier to wipe down. You can add some lemon juice to help it smell fresher too.
TM, you really are doing a big clean! I hope you have a great time with family. Had to smile at the laundry question as I was complaining to DH last night about still doing laundry all the time even when it's just the 2 of us. He pointed out that we have a smaller washing machine now, and our laundry hamper isn't that big either. So I guess it's just perspective!
Mamma, LOL at your bumper sticker!

Hello ! Just finished a roaster full of gumbo so am taking a break before I need to pack it up and deliver it.
Ann, I'm sure you will miss kitty, but it sounds like she is in a very good home, so that is a comfort.
So Chris, I assume you are happy with the new quilter. That's good.
Lori, I have been watching AMW. I liked it when it was on before. I'd love some chocolate mint something but don't think it will happen today. Not sure what we'll have for lunch-probably a sandwich. Supper will be pinto beans and cornbread. I'll save some gumbo and we can eat it tomorrow. I made the chocolate no bake cookies this morning. Hope DH can fix the dryer. 3 weeks is a long time to go without one.
Elza, my DH loves chocolate, loves nuts but not together! Enjoy your dinner party this evening.
Mamma, that is a cute bumper sticker. Sorry you are not happy with the mattress. Do you wake up not hurting though? That would be a plus.
TM, enjoy the cat sitting. I love black cats. I would probably the crazy cat lady if I lived by myself. I love cats. DH is allergic though. I hope your neighbor girl who is ill enjoys her trip.
Jan. so sorry to read that DD has covid. My friend who had it last week was at church. She is finally better but her DH was at the E.R.! He did come to church later as it was more of a cold not covid.
Right now it is sunny and about 60.
While in town I will go by the bank for small bills for the shop, and also by the store to look at flooring. I probably won't make it tomorrow. We are leaving at 8, and I will be in Houston all day. Ruth's last appointment is at 4:30 but since he usually runs late, she is not sure what time she will get in, so we will probably get back home late.
Have a super day, enjoy the day off all you working gals!

Hi.. TrailMom, that’s a lot of cleaning. If your laundry is hidden from view, and I bet it is, don’t bother doing it. Unless you need it. lol. Mamma, cute bumper sticker. Could really use it in this town. Not much cities can do until the frost is out of the ground. Tammy, we used to watch AMW too, but don’t think it’s in our network here. DH would love to see it. My DD doesn’t have Covid, her DD does. But DD spent two days with her DD ( my DGD) and doesn’t want to take a chance of passing it on to us old people, if she should come down with it too. They went to a concert, a lot of people there. I’ve probably missed someone. I’m on page two now, and I can scroll down to read it, but I don’t know how to read page one when I’m making a new post. Sorry. Bbl. Jan

It's sunny and 65. Tomorrow will be 75. I'm deep into a series on Hulu but there are eight episodes so it's taking awhile. I much prefer movies that (Usually) have an ending and the whole story all at once. Seasons and eps on series can go on forever and often feel like they do. I sailed through the house with a lick and a promise, so that's it til the housekeeper mid-week. Flounder pan fried with lemon and butter will be supper tonite. Hugs

I think I am done except warming up the rice and the vegetable and getting in the crock pots. Worst is getting it all in the. I even have time to maybe get myself at least looking respectable. Dish washer has done its thing for the second time and kitchen is cleaned up. Well at least cleaned up until I get home and unload the car about 8:30 tonight. I am going be glad to go back to work tomorrow. Mamma, nice that Mandy had a playmate this morning. Love your bumper sticker. TM, good to see you here today.. What a nice array of water fowl on the lake this morning. Enjoy your cat sitting. Jan, no problem making the correction. Elza, that is a nice size group for dinner. Enjoy. Tammy, doesn't it feel good to have the meal finished and ready to deliver.
Jan to be safe it is best to finish your reply and create post then go to page 1 and if you want to add more to your reply go back to page 2 and go to your post and click on edit and you can add then create post again.
Bet

Mamma, A new mattress usually takes a little time to get accustomed to. If you are needing more softness you might want to get a really cushy soft mattress pad/cover and/or put a foam pad under the mattress pad. Either or both will soften a too firm bed.
Your bumper sticker would be good for most areas.....certainly around here. The freeze/thaw really rips up the streets. Cheers Doris

Once more, hello! The new mattress will be delivered on late Monday, the 29th. We will be getting a 2-sided firm mattress that goes up and down at the head/feet (I have a hard time lying flat since my heart surgery). What really sold me on the mattress is that it has a zipper that goes completely around it and can be removed to adjust the filling. I have always done firm because of a bad back, but if it is too firm, they'll remove some of the filling, or too soft, and they add more. They call it "comfort control" and will be honored for 20 years. The firm I tried out at the store felt great, but I do expect our mattress will indeed be firmer as I've no idea how long it's been on display nor how many people have tried it out. mamma, I am sorry to read that you are not happy with your new mattress; hope in time that will change, and you'll find comfort with it.
DH called Speed Queen directly to see if maybe he would get a faster service call on the dryer. They could take up to 48 hours to have somebody contact us and appointment wise, it could take weeks to get someone out. DH looked at YouTube and said no way was he waiting that long, we was going to do it on his own. He then called an appliance part store in town and tomorrow he can pick up the new piece he needs.
I went along for DH's 3PM doctor appointment. He is scheduled for his colonoscopy for March 11th. We already picked up his cocktail drink on the way in, so it looks like the evening of the 10th is going to be fun, fun, fun!
Dinner was Lecho from the freezer with leftover baked beans and broccoli salad from the refrigerator. Going to read a bit before AMW. Lori
