Good Morning! It's 18° and clear. Forecasters say with the wind chill, it will feel colder. I moved to my recliner when Bill came to bed and slept very well. At one point, Duchess perched on my lap. I'm okay with friends taking Duchess...it's not like putting her to sleep. I just hope the transition is quick...she is such a scaredy cat! Teriyaki salmon was terrific last night. Haven't had broiled (thick) asparagus in a while so they were good. I added raw, thinly sliced scallions and black pepper to the buttered multi-grain rice. Tonight we are having Scotch broth that I took from the freezer...with bread or rolls. Enjoy your morning!! Waving!

Good morning friends. Cold and dark here! LOL I think it will get lighter but not warmer! Currently 13°
Ann- We had grilled salmon last night Dan and I had it with teriyaki and the rest had it with just salt and pepper. We made baked potato skins (made mashed with the potato we took out of the skins) and Spanish corn. I had a small bowl of Rutabaga and Brian, Dan and I ate that.
Nothing really planned for today. I think I will go down and make a baby quilt that someone ordered from me. I will get that and the other one over to the quilters tomorrow.

Good morning all. A cool gray day greeted us this morning. It's only 39 and might make 50 this afternoon. I really shouldn't complain as at home it is only 28, and some snow in the forecast with a high of 32. Given the choice, I'll take gray and 50! Hope Duchess settles into her new home easily Ann - I'm sure you'll miss her. Happy quilting Chris. Good to know that you have an order for this next one. Didn't make it here yesterday. Went golfing and then ran a few errands afterwards. We had lunch out and come supper time, neither of us was hungry! Have a super Sunday.

Good morning.
This morning it is a three cups of coffee start. Even had to have an extra cookie. I woke up at 6:30 but didn't want to get up. With Mandy to take care of I have no choice but get out of bed. Maybe it's a good thing I have her or I would sleep the day away and never leave the house.
Another really nice day so we will go for an afternoon walk. A lot of people here walk in the morning. That's too early for me. I would rather sit here and drink my coffee with no interruptions. :) Besides that it's not warm enough for me to go out and about just yet. LOL
On line church this morning. After that I would like to clean the porch off really well. Who knows maybe I'll sit out there for a bit sometime today. I like my recliner much better than the patio chairs so I seldom sit on the porch. My back has a strong preference. Nothing else is planned for today.

Good morning and hello to all! Today is Crab-Stuffed Flounder Day and Drink Wine Day----neither of which are on the menu here.
Had a very nice day with DD and Lilith. Left a few hours later to drive home than we normally do, so we picked up a bit of the windy and rainy weather the last 30 minutes of our ride. Both wind and rain continued throughout the night; currently we have the wind and gray skies, but the rain has stopped and forecasted to start back up shortly. Hope when the next drought report comes out on Thursday we see an improvement.
I've already biked (inside) for an hour, ate breakfast, and now it is time to iron some clothes and wash some others. Since the dryer is not working, we will gather all the clean wash later and go over to the laundromat to dry everything.
Dinner will be some French honey baked chicken, Greek broccoli salad, and an Idaho baked potato. Waving to everyone and wishing you a lovely day! Lori

Good morning everyone. Ann, glad you had a good nights sleep. Makes for a better start to the day. So, today is the day. Good that Dutchess is going to friends, but your home is going to feel very empty and lonely for a while. Will you be able to go visit her? Chris, supper sounded good last night. We have salmon a lot. We both like it with teriyaki sauce too. I used to do a lot of sewing and I remember how peaceful it felt while sewing. Hi Tasty. Goofy weather. We have no snow to speak of here, the mountains are bare except for the very tops. Still below freezing, we are expected to warm up in the coming week. Hope when it’s time to return home that the weather in your area has warmed up some too. Mamma, I’d be flying if I had that many coffees. One, maybe two is my limit, then I switch to tea. How did you do with the new mattress last night? Better I hope. The one thing I miss living here is that there’s no people walking by. We face the back yard and we have a beautiful view of the mountains and looking down, can see where the Thompson and North Thompson Rivers meet.Just no people to wave to. That’s a statement, not a complaint. We love living here. Lori, glad you had a nice visit with DD and Lilith. How many hours away are they? You might have said but I missed it. Bet, thanks for the explanation of Moose Track ice cream. Sounds yummy. Not much going on here. This is a long weekend here, but just the same as any other weekend as far as we’re concerned. Roads are busy, first long weekend since new years. Will start the ice cream today (3 quart recipe, 2 quart maker, will have to put freezer bowl back in the freezer for the last quart),finish tomorrow or the next day. Ham and scalloped potatoes for supper. Jan

Jan, my coffee is half caff, I can't have fully leaded coffee. The thing I miss in the winter is the solitude and quiet of summer. I am sleeping better but I still hate the mattress. I don't think I'll ever like it.

Hello All. Mamma, enjoy your afternoon stroll and some time relaxing on the porch. Jan, that ham and scalloped potatoes is one of my favorites. Sounds so good. Lori, I'm sure you had a wonderful time with your girls yesterday. Tasty, glad your hubby got the first part of his root canal done. Dicey to take a chance. Chris, you've reminded me of how much I like roasted carrots and parsnips. I'm pretty sure I'd like rutabaga, too. Must remember to get some. Ann, I'm so sorry you and DH are fighting through those nasty colds. ((Hugs)) Supper tonite will be burritos and all the good stuff that goes with them. Sweet dreams.

Good afternoon. Finally took a break at 1:30 after 5 straight hours in the kitchen cooking. The batch of Sweet potato rolls are finished, cooked and ready to go to the refrigerator as well as 3 patches of Lemon Rice Pilaf. Kitchen is cleaned up and the first load is washing in the dish washer. I still need to get minutes out but not in the mood at the moment. When finished here will want to get 24 oz. of ham diced and 24 oz. of cheese grated ready for the chicken cordon bleu casserole tomorrow. Not sure if there is anything else to prep for the green beans with mushrooms and pearl onions with balsamic glaze other than the mushrooms that I cut up and sauteed yesterday.
Ann, glad that you were able to get a good night's sleep last night. Hope all went well with the transfer of Duchess to her new home.
Chris, nice dinner last night. Did you get your quilt done today?
Mamma, sorry you aren't enjoying your new mattress. Enjoy your stroll this afternoon.
Tasty, great that you got more golf in yesterday, Little chilly there this morning.
Lori, sound like you had mostly good weather for your trip yesterday. I am sure it was good to be with the girls again. Hope your dryer gets fixed soon. Great that you have repair coverage on it.
Jan, how did your ice cream come out. I take it your plain vanilla ice cream is a French Vanilla with eggs.
Helen, I am with you on the scalloped potatoes and ham. Real comfort food. I like to add cheese to the cream sauce.
Well think I will go get the ham diced for tomorrow and call it a day.
Have a great rest of your day and evening.
Bet

Thanks Jan. It is in the cookbook now.
I am finally done for the day at 5:15. Minutes are typed and sent out. All that is left to do is heat up the leftover 1/2 acorn squash stuff with breakfast sausage ball for dinner.
Enjoy your evening.

It's a nice quiet Sunday here. We had lunch after church with friends and really enjoyed visiting with them.
I got to spend some quiet time reading this afternoon while DH napped.
Then we're meeting my older sister & DBIL shortly for pizza (tacos for me -- it's a local place that has both and I like their tacos better than their pizza).

Hello ! Wanted to check in today. Typical Sunday for us: church, lunch at Katie's, it is just around the corner from the church building. DH had Cobb salad and I had half a pimento cheese sandwich with a bowl of tomato bisque. Loved the soup. The sandwich was fair. They put the pimento cheese on the bread and then top it with some bacon and a fried green tomato, then grill it. Messy to eat, for sure. It was just ok, not sure I would order it again. Came home for a nap, then looked at my menu for next month's brunch. It may be cancelled because of the church camp out that weekend. I want to be prepared in case. Yesterday we only had 13 including me, so a very small turn out, and lots of food left. Everything was good, and Bet's goat cheese toasts were the biggest hit. Love them!!
Supper was at a Mexican restaurant. They have the best tacos, but I had been there so recently that I wanted to order something different. I got the chicken flautas, and they were great. The concert was very good also.
Later today I am going to start the gumbo. I'll cook all the chicken overnight in a slow cooker, then finish it off tomorrow. I had DH take me to the store after we ate. Dessert will be no bake cookies. I may make those later on. I just bought some cartons of prepared potato salad to go with the gumbo. Sounds weird to me but that is the way our DIL eats it, and someone told me it is a tradition from Louisiana to eat it with your gumbo. To each his own! The rest of Monday will be filled with doing laundry.
Waving to all. Hoping Duchess has a very smooth transition.

Hi. Been busy today. Church, walk, laundry, I finished a book outside , then finished puzzle at clubhouse. Then took my pie up to clubhouse for the birthday party. Tonight, I have cards.
Dh made scalloped potatoes and ham for supper. I took out chicken breasts for supper tomorrow night, since there is ham left I might nake chicken cordin bleus.
