Gingerbread Kisses-marjo 3/4 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup molasses 1 large egg, room temperature 1 teaspoon vanilla 3 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon allspice 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tsp baking soda sugar for rolling dough balls in (1/4 cup more than enough) 55 - 60 striped Hershey’s Hugs (look nicer than kisses) Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. In bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, salt and baking soda. Set aside. In mixer bowl, beat together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the molasses, egg and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients gradually until mixture forms a ball. Using a small scoop, form into 1-inch balls. Roll in white sugar which has been placed in small bowl. Place balls on prepared baking pans, then bake 8 to 10 minutes.(I bake 10 min., no more) Take cookies from oven, remove to wire rack, let cool about 5 minutes, then place striped hug in centre of each cookie. Allow to cool completely, before serving.Makes about 55 - 60 cookies. Note: if cookies are too hot, hugs melt onto it, too cool, hugs won’t stick to them!)
