Marlene, I get offers for 5 a month but I hate having to call to cancel. Sometimes if I get my car serviced and pay for something extra I get a few months free. This past spring I got 3 free months for putting 4 new tires on my car. Paying for Sirius would be cheaper than tires but it needed them.

Karen, I'm doing chicken and stuffing, with broccoli and cheese broccoli soup mixed in, in the crock pot using thin sliced chicken so that's not a problem. It's in the crockpot now and water on to boil for Mac and cheese. When it's in the oven I'll mix up a green bean casserole and put it in the oven when the mac and cheese is almost done. DGS used to love green bean casserole but he probably doesn't anymore. No bread, unless I decide to pop a few frozen biscuits in the oven later. Like I've said, I handmade had much of an appetite.

Good afternoon & Happy Thanksgiving.
We are sunny & 53* but feels like 47. It was windy earlier & felt more like 30s to me. Looking out the window, the wind seems to have calmed down.
I forgot to put my TG flags out & just realized it this morning, so I put them out anyway. I'll leave them until after the wkend.
I think I told you I'll be spending having my TG dinner in a bar!! LOL They are having a Free TG dinner & the neighbors invited me to go with them. The same one that his band plays in almost every wkend. Then heading to Mike's on Sat for another dinner. They are having dinner today at their friends' house who happens to be Maddie's & was Max's TKD Master. They have kids the same age & have become family fiends. But since he is Korean, it won't be our traditional TG meal. Curious to see what they have.
Leslie, if I was staying home today I'd probably have Pizza. And there you are preparing a feast.
TY, Tasty for the TG wishes.
Karen, good luck with all the streaming. I also like to have things written out step by step. I do that sometimes if it's a new work project. DB #1 has the new FIOS Internet & was showing me all the streaming apps on his TV. I haven't gotten around to that yet & still deciding if I want to. Mike has tons of them too & he has the voice command remote. If I'm at his house by myself, I push buttons & stick to the basic TV schedule .
Hope everybody enjoys their TG & the meals that go with it.
Starting next yr. we are putting together a list of people that live alone here in the Cove with no family & people will volunteer to make extra to take them a TG meal. Might do it for Christmas too. The idea was suggested little too late to put a list together for this yr. But it was put out there that if you know of anybody, let us know.

I have been out snowblowing unfortunately with the little hand blower rather than the tractor. It is quite wet so the blower keeps clogging up and my legs and arms are getting tired. Have have a long driveway and the first part is up hill. The plows snowbank is quite a challenge with the little blower. I am in right now finishing the dinner rolls for dinner at DD's. Ha so in the freezer from the Lions' dinner that is enough at his house. Dinner at 3 and then at 5. I will be ready for bed by then. I just to get a few more passes up the hill and then I will be able to get out without any problems I think. Rolls just came out of the oven so back outside.

Gayle, I am also interested in what Mike and family will have for Thanksgiving with his Korean friend. I'd be pretty surprised if one of the things isn't kimchee. Oh, WOW! I am so glad I typed that just now. I want to get some kimchee for when DSon is here. He loves it. I'm sure somewhere in the deep recesses of his mind, heart, and taste buds, he remembers eating it a lot before he left Korea. What a wonderful idea for residents of the Cove to look out for one another like that! Kind of makes up for the pain in the butt group who likes to mind other people's yard business. 😉

Leslie, congratulations on the new great nephew. To bad DGD isn't getting many hours in on the new job. What will the Siriusxm monthly bill go to when your trial ends? I just had a chat with them an they reduced mine own to $10.99. They even did it in the middle of the monthly cycle and refunded the pro rata of the additional I way paying which was over $20 a month. I do this every year.

Bet, I haven't had an active Sirius subscription for several years. I just enjoy the freebies from time to time. The last offer I had in an email was $5 per month plus taxes and fees, so don't know what that would come to. As much as I love it. It's one of those things I can live without. My car radio stays on K-Love and there are enough channels for it that I can listen at least from here to the Charlotte area. But actually this past year I've been donating more to it than I would pay for Sirius.

Good afternoon and happy Thanksgiving. Currently 72° and sunny. The sun is starting its decent so what is left is on the back of the house. It warmed up the living room for me. Tomorrow will be even cooler. I had a wild day yesterday so didn't do much today. Keep in mind, I've only been to the er once and that was to drive a neighbor. I didn't stay and I'm not used to being around sick people. I was sitting here in my comfy chair looking out my window to where that little laundromat is. What I spotted was my neighbors from across the street ( on the front of my house), I don't see their driveway from here. What I saw was the two of them holding onto the car, the doors were open, attempting to switch drivers. I thought maybe they were trying to get something out of the car to bring inside so I went over to see of I could help. They both normally use walkers so it was quite the sight. Turned out he had a Dr's appt in town and she was going to drive! The day before Thanksgiving! I said, no you're not, I'll drive. Thinking he'll go in, I'll wait, and go home. I left her home and had to take his car because he'd never be able to climb in mine. We get their no problem, 45minutes early. He finally sees the doc who orders a CT scan and we have to go to the ER! Meanwhile, my batteries are low on both my phone and tablet and he has no phone. I guess she had it so it was now at home.
This is getting long, I had to post and edit. I found the er ok and parked. I had no idea the procedure how long the procedure is or how long we would be there to wait to see of he was being admitted. Meanwhile, I was expected to make church and choir practice in an hour. Well that never happened. The CT wasn't conclusive to tell whether he had a stroke or not so they had to keep him overnight. Before I knew if he was staying and the church service was over I called the pastor to see if he would be on standby so I could go home. I found out this morning he is now being tested for Parkinson's .

Leroy same to you.
Leslie, I actually have Amazon Prime music in my car so I listen to that most of the time because I can choose specific artist or what every I want but since it is based on cell towers which can be scarce where I travel for work I also have siriusXM. There are areas that no radio will work. But I spend a minimum of 50 miles on the road everyday I work.
Wendy what a day your had. Luckily you happened to see what was going on. Hopefully they will find out more about your neighbors problem.
Gayle, that is a nice project they are starting in the Cove. There are so many that don't have family and live alone.
Enjoy your evening.

Had a busy week making stuff with the canning group. 76 meat pies, some vegetarian but most were a pork/beef mix. We baked cookies where the dough had been made last week and frozen, and we packaged so much stuff I've forgotten all that we did do. Then in the afternoon, I went to the visitation for my friend's hubby. She seems to be doing quite well - tomorrow is our group breakfast and she is coming to that so we'll see. This morning I headed over to the freezers at the hospital and got labels on all our baking that needed it then came home and started more baking. And this afternoon we parked hubby's car for the winter. Neither of us is thrilled about it but we have no choice - only one parking spot per condo and no outside parking during the winter months. Now we'll have to plan who goes where when etc. The problems we have to deal with as spoiled people. We managed it last winter so we can do it again.
Hope everyone has had a nice Thanksgiving.

Wendy...bless you for spending your day helping your neighbors and going above and beyond the call of duty. I try to abide by the Golden rule I learned as a child in Sunday School, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". It sounds like that's exactly what you did.
I am too tired to do much posting but wanted to stop by and say.....Happy thanksgiving to all and to all a good night". Charlene
