Good morning. Cloudy and cool but no rain.
I will be getting the gutters done on Monday. The salesman gave me a quote and I told him I'd have to check my finances. So he did some more figuring and got it to a reasonable price which I'm glad. He said my front gutter isn't slanted so the water doesn't flow down. He took a picture of the gutter and it filled up with pine needles again after last week from cleaning it out. He said they would clean out all the gutters first and then put the leaf filter on. My kids will be happy I won't have to go up on the roof anymore.
I had a few errands to do yesterday and got those done. Nothing to exciting.
I'm going out today to look for some type of shelving or spice rack. I don't like the cupboard they are in. I have to move all of them to get what I need. Sorta wish he would of put the cabinets a bit lower because there is a lot of wasted space. I still like my kitchen though.
While I'm out I may start Christmas shopping. I really don't know what the kids need. Now that they are getting older and can buy what they want it makes it tough. Have a good day.

Good morning everyone. It is 26º and going to lower 40s later. When I asked Alexa what the weather was this morning, she said "currently it is 29º and snowing in Lime Springs." It clearly wasn't snowing, so I checked the temp myself.
Yesterday I met DD for lunch and her DD, Brandi joined us. We had a nice time and good food. I then came home and filled my car with gas and then did s few things around the house.
Today I need to bake a birthday cake for DB's birthday tomorrow. He called yesterday and asked if I would. I guess he is having a birthday party for himself which doubles as celebration of his divorce being final and him being able to move back into his house. I am invited, but not sure if I will make it since I also am invited to a birthday party tomorrow for my oldest GGS.
I need to run out to DG and pick up a couple things and the rest of the day will probably be spent doing some house cleaning. Next week's calendar is filling up, so I'd best do the cleaning here when I have time.
Tasty...I am glad to hear you got a good report when you met with your surgeon.
Leslie....It sounds like you had a nice day with your grands. I am glad you were able to meet the EMT and thank him in person.
I can't remember what else I read from yesterday's posts, so I will just wish everyone a happy Friday. Also...Happy Veteran's Day to all who have served. Charlene

The 11th Hour, of the 11th Day, of the 11th MonthThank you to all the veterans and their families that have served our country over the years. Good morning. It was 28° here this morning, going to 40° and sunny. I can live with that. Yesterday was a busy day. I didn't get home until about 5:30 but I didn't leave until around 9:30. All went well and the timing was great for the 3 4 o'clock jobs. Also hit all 3 grocery stores and was able to get everything on my list. I didn't do one job yesterday but it is only 20 minutes from here so will do that today and also hit the grocery store there for a few things I forgot. Before I leave I hit the road I will put the last Turkey Breast in the oven. I plan to spend the afternoon in the yard, garage and shop. It should be in the house but I really need to finish up outside while the sun shines. Ann, any great buys yesterday. Prices were great here this week. Butter for $3.63 16-20 count raw shrimp for $6.99. Charlene, I see the DG is already being handy for you. I am sure you brother is relieved to have the divorce final. I having a feeling you are going to find your calendar really busy until you get used to it.
Sandy, you will enjoy the leaf screens. I have them on the north side of my house. I have a vertical spice rake that is a spinner that sits on my counter under the cabinets that holds 48 spices. In the cupboard I have a 2 tier and a single lazy susan for the rest. I am not going to replay to everyone from yesterday but did read all last night. I started this over an hour ago and got distracted. Time to get ready for work. Have a great day. Bet

A quick good morning while I wait for DS to get ready to go downtown to see DGD's artwork. Then we will come back here and oldest son will be driving my car full of people while his wife drives their van out to her mom's house about 20 minutes away. Her mom invited all of us to a little birthday celebration for the boys whose birthday is tomorrow and DDIL and DS whose birthday is Monday. I'll head for home after we get done with that and come back here. It's going to be a long day but it's nice to spend a little time with the kids.
Charlene, that seems like a quick divorce. I'm sure he will be glad it's over. Happy birthday to all of yours also.
Bet, that was a lot of running around yesterday. Hope you get it all finished today and can rest a bit.
Karen, hope your tv situation worked out. We don't have a best buy but Ethan bought a TV for me from there in 2014. He was working with an ambulance transport service at the time and brought it back from Columbia in the ambulance. I bought my last one from Amazon so had free delivery to my front porch and didn't have to worry about anything other than getting it inside and set up. Of course DGS was there and had it all set up when I got home from work that day. It's only a 50 inch I think. Like Charlene they are so much lighter now. The one Ethan got me wasn't heavy just long so a bit of a challenge to move. The screen got broken in a mishap so I had to haul it to the dump.

![6277](//storage.proboards.com/6578076/images/MpbNPHCxgNtlgjSeoELL.gif) Sunny and chilly here today. There's a very real possibility we won't make it to 50 for our high. The 7-day forecast is a little more generous with a couple of days in the 60s. It looks like the rain is holding off until Friday. That is a long stretch of being without much rain for us. I've been to the store and bought some things for the food pantry at church. The collection is today and covers both their regular monthly needs and what will be going into Thanksgiving bags for families in need. I made a list of what they said they needed and proceeded to leave it in the car. Because, why not? LOL! I may feel like I am losing it sometimes, but I only missed 2 things on the list going by my memory. I'm fairly sure they won't go without Jello and ramen noodles. Somebody will have remembered. My plan for this morning is to finish my email to my cousin and start working on a chore list. Something else always takes priority over making that list, I swear! My cousin finally questioned the situation regarding DSon's family expansion. It looks like we will be sharing good news. Her one DD and DSonIL both got promotions at work. The other DD is moving her business to a location that she hopes will be better. Charlene, I'm so happy to hear you got in some special time with your DD and and DGD. We never get enough time with our loved ones. Doesn't it just figure? Usually Sunday is a slow day, but tomorrow you have choices to make. That will be a hard one. I'm pretty sure I will smile every time you mention going to DG because I know how much easier that makes life for you. Very nice, Sandy, to be getting the gutters done! I am sure your kids are going to be thrilled that you won't be on the roof anymore. Christmas shopping does get tough as time goes on. It's so hard to know what anyone wants or needs. I told DSis#5 last night that I am going to buy DM only things she needs like food and household items. She doesn't need clothing or other things people often give as gifts. It feels like doing anything other than buying food and personal necessities is a waste. Her birthday is in February. I may get her some seeds to plant then. She does like to grow things in the house. So glad that everything went well for you yesterday, Bet. Saving the small job for today was a good idea. Leslie, it felt warm and fuzzy to read about your time with the family yesterday. I'm so happy for you all. Making fun memories with the little ones is just awesome. This TV isn't heavy at all. I just didn't know that when I ordered it. I had to pick it up last night and move it because I had set it in a spot that had it blocking the cable box signal. Luckily, the box had openings on the side to grab onto. I didn't buy any warranty on this because I don't think they offered it for smaller sizes like my 32". I'll just have to be careful with it. Best wishes to your DGD on the wheelchair rugby event. How wonderful you got the chance to thank that angel/first responder that helped your DGD! I don't happen to think you meeting up was an accident. Nor was that particular person being the one to respond to the accident. His presence mattered. Well, I am going to have to wave to those I missed and get back to folks later. I have to get at being productive somehow so I am not scrambling later on. Have a sensational Saturday, folks!

It is currently 35, but with the wind feeling like 29. Sandy, I'm so happy you will have the gutters on your house. Re the spices having to be moved - How about a lazy susan? I had the same problem and a simple two tier lazy susan has solved that problem. Charlene, I hope you can make both parties although I think GGS might come first. Karen, what a beautiful way to start your post. Less we forget. Leslie, have fun at the party. Seems as if there are a lot of parties going on this weekend. Enjoy every minute of them. Marlene

Good Afternoon, It is sunny & 55* I think it feels cooler than that but the phone says it actually feels warmer. I planted my new Hibiscus this morning & as I was untangling the roots I noticed one part of the plant seemed loose. The more I got the roots loosened I found there was a 2nd set of roots to a 2nd plant. So I ended up with 2 plants after all w/o having to buy another one. The 2nd one is about 1/2 the size of the Mama but still a decent sized plant & in good shape. Yaaay Me. Cleaned & filled bird baths, getting the heated one set up in the process. Haven't plugged it in yet, but it's ready. Funny thing happened at the Marina last night, actually 2. I already told you the group I've joined up with all like to dance & we're all pretty much in the same age group. We usually dance every dance; 1st on the floor & last off. So this middle aged lady comes over to the table last night & told us "When I grow up I want to be like you all" Then she gives me a hug & says "especially you". I assume because I'm the oldest. LOL The 2nd thing was at some point, for some reason, there was just 3 of us on the dance floor; two of my friends & myself. So the lead guitarist comes & starts dancing with us, while still playing the guitar.
We got to talking about Christmas last night & somehow that conversation led to me offering to bring them 2 of my Rum Cakes on the last Friday before Christmas. But 1st I have to make sure it's OK to do that. If so I will be making 14 of them this year. I want to take one to the person that sprayed my d'way for me & another one to the person that came & helped dig it up.
I just had a phone call & lost my train of thought & it looks like I missed some of the news yesterday so I'm going to go reread some of those posts. BBL
Tn. is on TV this afternoon so I'll be watching that later.
Sandy, glad to her you are getting the gutter guards & don't have to be on the roof anymore. I have a 2 tiered rack for my spices on one shelf & a lazy susan on the shelf above for extra or those that I don't use very often.

Good evening. Another grey day. We hunted for 90 mins this morning then headed to the cities for the baby shower. That went well and they got many nice gifts. My aunt and uncle (the grandparents to be) have covid so were unable to attend. That was a bummer because they have waited a long time. My cousin is 42 and my aunt and uncle are 75.
Charlene-So did your brother get the house because this was your family homestead?
Sandy-I also have my spices on a lazy susan that sits on the shelf in the cupboard.
Almost time to make some dinner.

Leslie, sounds like you are having a great time with the grands. I know that was one of your priorities when you retired. Have you heard how things went with oldest DGD and the rugby?
Karen, looks like you have had this day pretty much under control. Hope you got your chore list finished and are not putting too much pressure on yourself to get things done. I sure wish that Sue would come back and join us.
Marlene, I think we are all starting to realize that winter is approaching with the temperatures.
Gayle, good luck that you ended up with 2 plants. I think you are going to be busy make rum cakes.
Melissa, so sad that the grandparents to be couldn't enjoy the shower today. That is a long time to wait for be a grandparent. Hopefully they will have many great times with that new baby after it is born.
I always think of Molly today and so many others as I check the birthdays every morning.
Well my day didn't exactly go as planned but no big deal. I started about a month ago when I decided to upgrade my acrobat program so I could do more things and to change my email address that is being discontinued. Well they set up the new program for me and instead of just changing my email address on my account they set up a new account with it. Therefore I couldn't couldn't get the accounts as one. This week I decided I didn't want the new program only to find out today even though I was paying monthly if I cancelled I would pay a penalty of the entire yearly charge. I got on chat and was able to negotiate cancelling the new program for the unused portion and going back to the old program with the same yearly charge. That is great but the email address was still a problem. The rep on the other end had me doing all sorts of things to no avail. No matter what he had me do it didn't work. We finally go disconnected. I have learned when they get frustrated and have spent too much time this happens. I figured out what he was trying to do and was finally able to do it on my own and now the program I want and the account email is now correct. However, I didn't get out to go to work until this afternoon and by the time I finished my job and did some more shopping I didn't get home until about 2:30.
I decided not to do the last turkey breast until I got home as I like to let the pan brown and add water as it goes along to make good gravy. So now am waiting for the turkey to get finished which will by in about 30 minutes then it has to cool before I can bone it.
DS is coming tomorrow to get the 4 wheeler started and move so I have set up an electric heater right beside it to hope that helps. I also opened the door to the shop and turned up the heat in there and have a fan in the door way moving the heat into the garage. I don't want to see my electric bill and the amount of propane this is going to us.
Enjoy your evening.

Bet, I wish Sue and others would come back also. They are missed for sure. The reason I made the chore chart is to keep myself from getting stressed. I spread things out over time and can do tasks as I have time for them. I'd be fretting something fierce if I didn't have a list or calendar to keep me on track. It would all build up in my mind as worse than it is. I did get the calendar filled in today. Nothing drastic or dramatic has to happen. I can do a couple of things a day to make things work out fine. By now, I know how my brain works. Structure is key. I'm glad your DSon is coming tomorrow to deal with the 4 wheeler. Sorry things were so screwy with your acrobat program, but am glad you worked things out eventually on your own. My money is always on you to do that.
How disappointing, Melissa, for your aunt and uncle to not be able to attend the shower! I'm glad it was nice anyway.

Good evening. I am going to call it a night early. Lack of sleep the past 2 nights has caught up with me and I need to get up early to cook lima beans and rice for dinner at church. DGS picked up a cheesecake for me to take. I had decided to skip it but he was going to Walmart anyway. The drive home was wet and dreary but the rain wasn't heavy.
Gayle, I thought about you on the way home. On USC game days they block off several exits in the southbound lanes of I77 and I think use all lanes of the road by the stadium to steer the game traffic away from the stadium. At least that's what I assume they are doing and I've run into this several times on my trips home. It was slow going for several miles because the 2 right lanes were closed and of course people wait until they can't go any farther to get over, ignoring several miles of signs. In cases like that I refuse to let people move over in front of me. I see they won the game though. There were several busses with flashers going past those exits that I assume was one of the teams. It just made me think of you since Max is a Gamecock now.
I texted DGD this morning and she responded after I got home today. She said they played 3 games today, although she didn't get much playing time being the newest teammate. They play several games tomorrow before she catches her flight home.
Bet, glad you figured your problems out. I used to use a lot of Acrobat functions in both of my jobs and have had to show a few coworkers how to do things like combine files or organize pages. They didn't realize they could do anything besides view a pdf. Hope your son gets the 4 wheeler taken care of.
See you in the morning.

Leslie,I refuse to let people over at the last minute too. Plus I get irritated when the people in front of me do. I see SC won big time today 47-6 & Tn lost to Mizzou by almost the same margin 36-7. First game I got to see this year & they lost.
I saw Sue's post on FB about Molly's Birthday. I didn't remember that. I've tried to get her , Del & Janet back here but no luck. Janet showed up a couple time & then disappeared again.
Bet, you have to pay for your e-mail service? I got my recipe out for the cakes this afternoon to see what I need. I may go to 2 stores to get the rum so I don't look like an alkie. LOL Seven cups for 14 cakes equals 56 oz. Almost 1/2 gal.& I don't think I have any on hand.
