Good morning. 47 and a little rain. Its supposed to be done mid morning so we’ll see. I have lots of work to get done outside so hopefully. Looks like today thru Wed will be the best chance for getting as much done as possible. I work Th and there is rain forecast. The weekends highs are to be low to mid 30s and lows of 20 with the S word in the forecast. Not ready for that yet. Seems we can never make it thru October without at least some snow.
Yesterday was a good day. We got the last tree cut for my mom that was shading her plants. Instead of pruning we took down the entire tree. It was only about 5” across so not huge. Cleaned up the mess and reattached her fence panels I had taken down. Ds overslept so we headed for the woods to do some work for an hour and a half. At 11:15 we departed and went back to my moms to make brunch. When ds and his gf got there we ate then went to my dbs to shoot. Made sure all the rifles were on and got to try some of ds’s new guns. Headed back to the woods and got the last of the brushing done by ds’s stand. Go figure the battery on the drill died tho and we couldn’t quite finish fixing the stand. Oh well! He won’t be there opening weekend anyway so we’ll get it fixed that day. We walked to my stand to check trail cameras. Just does and fawns. We are bucks only this year unless we do some hunting at our buddies land. Different rules for different areas. We didn’t get home until 6:30. Dh and I were both exhausted last night. He went to bed before 9 and I was asleep on the couch as soon as he went downstairs. I had been up during the night for 2 hours each of the 4 nights we were gone. Slept great last night.
Today I have a ton of yard work to do. Cutting down perennials, bagging leaves, planting the 9 lilys I got, dumping pots, etc. Dd1 is done working now so is available to help. I told her I will teach her how to do the leaves!! I have a mountain of laundry and the usual cleaning. Hope to get my outside windows washed the next couple days before its too cold. I once again will not be bored!
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning everyone. It is 45º and going to mid 60s later, but will take most of the day to get there. The wind has returned and we got a little rain overnight....yay...a little is better than nothing.
I got so much done yesterday! I got almost everything on my list done and actually mowed the whole lawn except for the boulevards. It was such a nice day and I wanted to take advantage of it. I pretended that it was going to snow tomorrow and worked to get everything done before the snow came....lol. The forecast for this week is actually nice and includes rain. The weather guy said this morning, "I'm not saying what may happen next weekend, but it rhymes with 'say it ain't so'!"
This morning while waiting for it to get nice enough to go outside, I will continue to put plastic on the upstairs sun room windows. I got 3 done yesterday morning and got the shelves set up to bring plants in from the GH. I got several carried in already and will continue all week.
I have 2 people texting me so I will post and check back later. I'm not very good at multi tasking. Charlene

Good morning. I hand been awake since about 4 but tried to go back to sleep, unsuccessfully. Finally got up and got coffee. I have a load of laundry washed and in the dryer. The main things that need to get done today are emptying and refilling both litter boxes and cleaning the pet carrier so it will be ready to take Ziggy early Wednesday. It has been sitting on the porch for a long time and is dirty. I have a meeting at church tonight so will take the trash on the way.
Melissa, as usual you got a lot done yesterday. I still have more small trees to cut and burn. Fortunately with our mild winters I can work on that for months so no rush to get it done.
Charlene, you were productive as well. I think about all I got done in between church yesterday was making muffins and washing up the dishes I used.

The sun is burning off the frost we got last night. The weather folks were not kidding about the overnight low. We did get down to 32°last night. I was fortunate that the frost didn't come close to the buildings so I'm pretty sure all of my plants are still okay. At least nothing looks too out of sorts. I have spent the morning looking for the box of Rice Krispy treats that I hid from DH so he wouldn't overindulge. Now, I am at a loss as to where I put them. They aren't in the obvious places where I have looked multiple times. I've even looked in stupid places just to be sure I wasn't trying to be too clever in hiding them. I checked the van and they aren't there either. This is going to drive me bananas until I find them. LOL! From now on when I hide things, I need to put where on phone list of hints. The deacon called and is running behind. That'll give me more time to look for the treats and decide what I'll do today. I have no idea at this point. So nice, Melissa, that you will now have some help getting work done around your place. There is never any shortage of chores. I'm sure your DD is thrilled to learn the art of bagging leaves. It's not a fun task but one that needs to be done. Doesn't it just figure the drill battery would die on you like that? Yikes on the possibility of snow. As of now, it looks like our Halloween is going to be really chilly, but I don't think any mention of snow is in the forecast yet. Good for you also having a really productive day yesterday, Charlene! Nothing like a good motivator to make us keep going. Snow this time of year is big motivation to not stop until we drop, even if it is just pretend snow. Leslie, cleaning that pet carrier sounds like tough task. Sorry about your off sleeping night. Those make the next day challenging. Best wishes, Mary, on the eggplant like Olive Garden makes! They were my inspiration also when I made it recently. It's one of my favorites. Guess it is time to move on. I heard my phone ding from the other room. I better go see what is going on. More than likely, though, it is just Google sharing something I don't know how to get them to stop doing. I am not good with a phone being smarter than me. LOL! Have a magnificent Monday!

Good afternoon all! It was 68° this morning, 80° now. We had aerobics this morning. Such a pretty day. I love watching all the different water birds fly overhead. Unfortunately, they're too high to identify. One of the ponds is next to the pool.
This morning one of the volunteers went around and edged our lawns where they meet the road. They look so neat now. Last week my blower blew its last breath. The village bought a new one for me and had just delivered it so I went and blew some of the edges over at the laundromat and my corner.
Stitching tonight with Zoom and NY friends. That's about it for my Monday. Hope you're having a good one.

Good early afternoon,
We are sunny & 56* at the moment. It was 44 overnight so won't be long until I turn the heater on in the GH.
Mike's area has a frost watch for tonight so it's coming. He's 150 mi north of me.
When I saw that on the weather app I decided to go put my geraniums in the GH. Everything else is already there. Even with the 4 sets of shelves in there & a lot of empty shelves yet; I had to make a little platform for the geraniums so they have room to grow upward. Not enough room between shelf hts. to accommodate that.
Filled a bird feeder & put water in the baths. Pretty soon I'll be getting my heated bird bath out.
Swept out the garage & that was it for now.
Karen, you should be able to go into settings & find notifications where you can turn things off or on.
Here I am hoping my Lily bulbs get here soon so I can get them planted before it gets cold & there's Melissa out there planning yard work in the 40s.
Not too much going on here. I'll check back in later. If I get bored I'll go start cutting the little trees down next to the path.

Good afternoon folks! It is beautiful here altho we did get down to about 34 overnight. Now up to 48 but the sun is shining and the sky is a gorgeous blue - just like a summer's day. The third and last load of laundry is in the drier and just about done. I had a good long walk to the far end of town this morning and got my hair cut. Having forgotten an appointment a couple of weeks ago, it was badly needed. Happy to see so e of you who want rain, have had some but really don't want to hear about the arrival of snow just yet, Melissa. We invariably had snow in October when we lived in Ottawa but that was 20 years ago.
Enjoy your day.

Wow, do you usually have Iris bloom this time of yr.,Dave? Must be a re-blooming variety. When it's done blooming, you can cut the stem off at ground level. Then you can cut the plant back after the 1st frost. That's supposed to prevent Iris Borers
