Good morning everyone. It is 49º and going to lower 80s later....another acceptable day with lower humidity.
Yesterday I worked outside most of the day hauling the hose from 1 garden to another and weeding while waiting to move the hose. I got another 2 trash cans of weeds and yard debris. With all of the weeds hauled away, you'd think all of my gardens would be weed free, but they aren't. Some of the yard debris is plants I'm cutting off already. I seldom cut any off before late September, but with all of the heat and no rain, they are looking tough and I want to preserve them for next year.
I'm glad Idalia has moved on and all our friends from here are okay. In addition to the friends that lived in the path of the storm, Carol and Carolyn are vacationing there.
Leslie....You have gotten more rain in the past week than we've gotten all year.
I need to get the garbage out and burn the trash before it gets too hot. Happy Thursday to all. Charlene

Good morning. Up too early plus had a hole in my night. Maybe a nap later will be in order. Its 59 now in Mpls with a high of 82. Last pleasant day before its gonna get real hot again.
Yesterday dh and his mom were gone to her appt until 1 or so. I cleaned the entire time they were gone. I did a full bathroom cleaning x2, scrubbing tubs/showers, floors, washing walls. I scrubbed cabinets in the kitchen, backsplash tile, and the floor. Vacuumed upstairs and down and did 4 loads of laundry. Time went very quickly! The soccer game was not good. We lost our 3 best forwards last year so it may be a long season. I watered plants when we got home. She had some beautiful hibiscus blooming.
Dmil has her PET scan at 9 so they will head out soon. I’m going to read a while then maybe go for a walk. I guess some lady in the complex has dinner plate dahlias that are a sight to see. Plus I need exercise. The townhome area is large and lots of big trees and very pretty so will be a nice walk.
Not much else exciting here. Have a great day.

Good morning. It was 48°this morning and sunny. It is suppose to be a beautiful day in high about 70°. Unfortunately I have an appointment with with an orthopedic this afternoon to get the results of my ex rays I had done a few weeks ago and see if there is anything to be done for the pain in my shoulders. I have to go to the city so I won't get much of anything done around here. Depending on when I get done I plan on doing a little shopping and may stop and do a quick job at one store on the way home. It is a little out of the way but will save me having to do it tomorrow. I was up at 4 and no super moon. It was still overcast from the rain yesterday.
Charlene, you are warming up a lot more than I am today. I have given up on the weeding. Just don't seem to have the time. What time I have I am putting into getting things ready to move inside. Some beds haven't even been weeded once and some never got planted. It just hasn't been great weather for gardening here mostly because of the constant raining.
Melissa, sorry about the girls team. Sounds like they will have to try and rebuild this year. Your walk sounds like a very pleasant area to walk.
Hi Dave,
Have a great day.

Sunny and pretty cool here to start the day. Eventually, the day ought to be pleasant. I think our high is expected to be in the mid 70s. Perfect! Today and tomorrow I will just be putting the finishing touches on things for the kids' visit. Since it is so cool this morning, I decided to warm things up by baking some oatmeal raisin cookies. David mowed last night so the yard looks better than it has in a while. I am going to go out after the cookies are baked and cut some flowers for bouquets. What I have had are looking pretty sorry for the most part. Better keep moving. Wishing everyone a good day!

Good afternoon. It's 81 and sunny. Tomorrow they are now saying low of 63 and high of 85. Not as good as the 61 and 81 but I'll take it. Maybe I'll have my coffee outside in the morning.
Wish I could send rain to those of you who need it. Of course with my sandy soil and our heat it dries up quickly. Seems like I just mowed but it almost needs it again. That will have to wait though because weeds are first on my list.
Today Ethan would have turned 34.
Melissa, sorry about the girls game.
Charlene, be careful burning. Burning limbs is on my to do list as well, but that can wait till it's cooler.
Bet, hope your appointment goes well. A coworker has shoulder surgery scheduled for September. He goes to the same ortho clinic I did with my hand.
Karen, I know you are looking forward to that visit.
Hi Dave.
Mary, I'm sure I'll be cleaning and filling my hummer feeder tomorrow. They should start getting more active here soon as they pass through.
Lunch is over. Have a great afternoon.

Good afternoon,
I never got here yesterday as I had no phone & no Internet. One of the guys working on the new FIOS Internet installation accidentally damaged one of Verizon's lines. They came & fixed it this morning. My phone had no dial tone & said check Phone Line. Made me feel like Karen.
We are really cool here today, especially for this time of yr. It was 68* this morning & only 71 now. No sun makes it seem even cooler. Looks like rain but none in the forecast.
I've closed the widows on the sunporch but still have the AC in my BR running, but not the one in the LR.
We put the unit in the spare BR yesterday for Maddie & I have that one running so her room will be cool. Tomorrow & Sat are supposed to be sunny & warmer. The only really warm day (80s) will be Sunday so maybe we'll go hang out at the pool that day.
She will be here sometime this evening. Tentative plans are to meet them somewhere so Mike doesn't have to drive here & then right back to his house. Well, he'll be doing that anyway, as they are leaving in the morning for their trip to Italy. But even if I meet them just an hour north of here, that will save him 2 hr of driving. Four hrs. on the road are better than 6.
She will be here until I take her home Monday so my visits here will be random.
I've seen a few fleas lately, even with no furbabies; so I vacuumed good this morning & sprayed the carpets with flea spray. I'll get some more on the way to pick her up. She's bringing her dog with her & I definitely don't want to send her home with fleas.
Not too much else going on right now. Need to go pay some bills & read yesterday's post.

Good afternoon all! Another 1"of rain so far today. I am still hearing some thunder so, who knows if there will be more.
A quiet day. I picked up storm debris this morning. It was so humid! it's only 79° now so the rain is definitely helping. 3:30pm. My friend! from NY is here on business with the village so I havent seen her yet today. I cooked us supper last night then we went to prayer service and to Wal-Mart for a few things she needed for her stsy. It looks darker out still. Since it is cooler, although wet, I wonder if I should go play in the dirt.
Bet, hope your appointment goes well. Sorry to hear you're bringing stuff back in already.
Charlene, that's a lot of weeds. Karen, it's always nice to have a fresh mowed lawn. Gayle, hope you and Maddie have a good time together. Leslie, big hugs today !
No other plans. I'll wait until I hear from my friend to see what she wants to do. The office closes at 5. She wasn't sure what the agenda held today. I'm hoping they'll come to some agreements so that she'll become their new business manager and move here. Since they arranged all her travel, Im staying positive.
Hope everyone accomplished what you set out to do today. Have a good evening!

Good evening. I think I am being taught that I can plan all I want, but I ain't in charge of nuthin'. In the midst of my plans for the kids' visit this weekend, I got a text that DH's cousin had passed away. This is hitting us hard. Terry was DH's roommate before we got married. He was also in our wedding. He could often be found on the riding mower cutting our grass out front, and he was the one who picked DH up off the ground when he fell into our Nativity a number of years ago.
It's been a struggle, but I have found a couple of bright spots to cling to in the sadness. My niece posted FB pics of my grandniece today where she was smiling so sweetly. She's almost 3 months old and is coming into her own with a personality. That made my day better early on when we knew we needed a miracle. After Terry was gone, I went outside and cut some flowers for bouquets. A hummingbird came right to my face and fluttered there for a few seconds. I was thankful and amazed because I was not near any flowers that she could have been interested in, nor was I wearing red. It was just a peaceful moment. One that I needed.
Leslie, I imagine today had to be difficult for you also since it is Ethan's birthday. I hope the day had its bright moments for you too. You are right. I am looking forward to the kids being here. That will help pull our spirits out of the toilet.
Really pretty meme, Charlene. I am thinking of tearing down some of my less successful buckets, baskets, and pots also. I'm over so much of what I planted this year and am surprised enough by some that I keep going. I guess that is the story of being a gardener.
I hope, Melissa, that you had a pleasant walk today. Sorry about the game. Prayers for your DMIL's PET scan.
Hi Dave! Good to see you here today.
Bet, I sure do hope the news was good at your doctor's appointment today so you can get out of pain.
Your lunch sounds yummy, Mary. I think the hummers are on the move here.
LOL, Gayle, I wouldn't wish that check phone line message on anyone. Sorry you got it also. We've been pretty chilly hear too. I closed the windows last night when I saw we could likely get into the 40s overnight. Brrr! Have fun with Maddie and make great memories. I loved spending time with my grandmother.
Wendy, I hope you and your friend had a good time together when she was done working. Having her move down there would be very nice for both of you.
I probably better figure out what I need to do next. I'm feeling so numb inside that if something isn't on my list, it probably isn't getting done. Nothing will fall apart if I don't do anything. Oh, I guess I better figure out what DH will wear to the wedding on Saturday. I keep forgetting to do that. Hope the day was good to everyone. G'night.

Karen, sorry to hear about your cousin, I assume this is the one that was in the hospital with the heart problems. Try to relax & enjoy your time with your kids this weekend. I realize that is easier said than done but Mac will bring a smile to your face. I also liked the HB story.
Maddie & I arrived home safely about 8:30ish. And I actually drove in the dark for the first time in over 3 yr. I was a little worried that it was going to get dark before I got home, but I had no problems at all. The cataract surgery I had this time of yr. 3 yr ago was a blessing. It's still pretty darned dark in this development though. Especially in the wooded areas with no lights. But that would be & is true for anybody.
Wendy, I hope your friend gets the position & can move there permanently.
See ya next time
