Good morning. It was 54°this morning but to be mostly sunny and hit 80's today. I need to go to work this morning. A quick job then I will do my weekly shopping in the town I will be in and then not sure what I will get into but hopefully it will yard work. Rain again tomorrow. I have a lot of work to do this week and for once it won't be raining everyday. I am trying to arrange the work so I can get at least Wednesday home. It is the best pick of the week. All next month the work is rather overwhelming. I have 4 6 hours jobs and I have a feeling they are cooler resets and I don't do them alone so who knows what is going to happen there. To early to know what the entail. We are getting all sorts of new jobs and some are rather confusing what exactly we will be doing. Not looking forward to that. I just pulled a small pot roast out of the freezer for dinner tonight. It was amazing that I was able to find it as everything is just stuffed anywhere there was a crack to put something in the freezers. Looks like the other one is doing fine so hope to start moving things back into it slowly. It is amazing how much the temperature increases just for opening the door briefly. My plan is to inventory that freezer as I put things back in. I am sure I will also find some things to toss. Not because they are spoiled but I know there are some leftovers I froze that I didn't really care for and they are just taking up space as I doubt if I will ever eat them. I have been reading about air frying and looking at some great recipes this morning.
Karen, great to read what a successful day you had with family. I am sure it was a good tired when you went to bed last night.
Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. It is 72º and going to lower 90s again today. Yesterday afternoon was horrible with the heat and humidity. I guess I'd better get used to it as it's here to stay for a few days.
Yesterday morning just as I got home from doing the chores at my friends' house, I got a text from DGD, Makayla inviting me to the park to play with the girls. They are here again this weekend to ask one of her friends to be in their wedding and she will be here next weekend for a bridal shower for her. I spent about an hour with them at the park. Yesterday afternoon was just a trip to help my neighbor get her socks on and then a trip there later to help her put the clean sheets on her bed.
I have no idea what I will do today, but whatever it is will probably be close to a fan.
I was so happy to see a post from Leroy. I was also happy to read that Karen's family reunion went so well. I loved all of the pictures especially the one of her DM&DU on the couch and the one with her 3 sisters laughing hysterically.....both showed how much everyone was enjoying the get together.
Happy Sunday to all. Charlene

Good morning all. My vacation is almost over for the week. I have another one in September might switch some days so I can be at the house when they do the kitchen. I just don't want to be in the way.
Going to be up in the 80's today, yesterday was just lovely a high of 75 and no humidity. I moved out into the sun because I got chilly in the shade with the breeze blowing. Talked with YDD and got the yard mowed. The side yard is still drying out. I made a nice dinner and relaxed.
Today need to iron some blouses for work and get my stuff ready instead of rushing in the morning.
Glad to here Leroy is home and Karen's reunion went well.
Have a peaceful day.

We are warming up quickly just like we were warned would happen. I'm not looking forward to the upcoming weather. Today will be in the 90s. A few days this week will be in the upper 80s, but Thursday we will be flirting with 100°. Good grief! I sure hope that doesn't happen. I'm pretty much over the hot and humid stuff. Next weekend is to be on the cooler side, so I guess relief will follow. I'm taking today easy and slowly. I may go back to bed even. I got up early because I woke up and didn't feel like just laying in bed. I knew I might regret that, but with nothing on the agenda I figured a long nap might be necessary. I could have lived the rest of my life not knowing that DM stirred up a political debate yesterday, but DH thought I should hear about it, I guess. I mentioned that I had to walk away from her for a bit because she was talking crap about the doctor charging her $350 to freeze the pre-cancer cells off her face. Her solution was to put peroxide on it instead. DH has had the same procedure done at the same doctor's office. It didn't cost him anything like that. Unless she has very bad insurance coverage, she is mistaken on that. And if it is an insurance issue, I can't feel bad for her. I tried to get her to get an agent to help her with a policy that fit her needs. She wanted to stick with what AARP was backing. So be it. Anyway, DH said DM started in on politics in front of DSis#3 who she knows thinks differently. That caused DSis to hit back, which DH didn't like. Ugh! I knew there was a reason I stayed outside taking pictures of the kids. In the grand scheme of things, though, I guess that is a small price to pay for an overall good time. DSis knows how DM is, and I don't know that DH isn't spinning things himself. I sort of want to get DSis's perspective, but wonder if I may be better off letting it go. What good would it do to get clarification? Can't change what happened. It was what it was. Funny how I worried about DH and the BILs when it was DM that stirred the pot. Bet, it really was the best kind of tired. Good find on the pot roast. Good luck with the inventory and getting things squared away. I can understand deciding to toss some things in the interest of having more space for things you actually will enjoy. Those pics, Charlene, are my favorites also. How fun to get that text from Makayla! Glad you got to spend time with her and the girls. Sounds like your Saturday was really nice, Sandy! I keep feeling like it was Sunday. I shouldn't do that for you as it will take away a vacation day. Deciding about your September vacation might be tricky, but I understand you thinking you might want to be there when they do the kitchen. I also understand not wanting to be in the way. Mary, I am glad you got that close encounter with the hummingbird. Those are so much fun! Well, I best get deciding if I want to do something or sleep. I'm feeling a bit like a clock that is winding down. A nap might be the direction I go. Have a super Sunday!

Good morning, it is 73° and the sun is shining. Have not been out yet. Think I will have a stuffed pepper for my dinner today. Nothing much going on here today. I may do some laundry and then again maybe not. I will just have another day of rest and reading. Have a good day.

Good morning all! I just returned from morning services here. We had a visiting pastor preach today from our Pastor's former church in Pennsylvania. I'll watch Utube later to catch my home church service in Rochester.
I found out this week another member from the NY church will be moving here to take an open position in the business office. We had joined that church at the same time. I don't know how Pastor took the news another of his flock is moving, not only to Florida but, the same village as three other families. Unfortunately, since his mother died in June and unless he's invited as a guest minister, we are unlikely to see him except for Utube or we visit there.
No plans for this afternoon. I will return to church later for the evening service.
Karen glad the party was mostly a success. Rest up, you earned it.
Sandy, hope the return to work is uneventful.
Mary, I haven't seen a hummingbird in weeks. I wonder if they moved north to avoid the heat. I had them until December last year.
I have to change clothes and eat some lunch. Have a peaceful day.

Good afternoon. I came here earlier and started reading but got sidetracked cleaning DGDs' bathroom. I have found out in recent years that girls make a bigger mess in a bathroom than boys, with makeup, craft stuff, you name it. Boys are just wash and go. Oops. Just remembered I didn't finish the sink. I'll do that after I get off here. But the floor, toilet, tub and even baseboards are better. I think I need to come some weekend when they aren't here and paint the walls, at least up to the first molding given the really high ceilings. The youngest even had mermaid toys in the floor that she hasn't played in the tub with in years. She's 9 and take showers. DS only goes in their to get their laundry to wash. Middle granddaughter emptied the dishwasher and I handed her the dirty dishes to load. Oops again. I meant to wash the pizza stone by hand so will do that later also. I went to McDonald's for coffee and breakfast for all the kids and DDIL. Oldest granddaughter left early with her mom for more of the wheelchair rugby clinic. She will likely miss Sunday supper. Tomorrow is Monday, which is normally his day but of course "perfect mom" needs photos to post to prove how great she is so she told DS she was going to take the girls tonight so she could get them ready for school tomorrow. That will likely be the only day she does that this school year.
Karen, I'm glad the gathering was such a success and I think you should probably let the political stuff go. You can't change their opinion and they can't change yours so sometimes it's best to try to forget about disagreements.
Both sons worked today but this afternoon we will go to my niece's for pizza and ice cream. Then I'll head home.
Have a good Sunday.

Cool today and excessive heat warning Tuesday-Thursday. UGH!! Last night daughter-n-law Brenda and I went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. She loves Mexican food as I do, but son Brian does not. To each their own. Bet, just yesterday I told myself that I need to straighten out my freezer. Like yours, things are not in any order and for me that is a problem (type A personality) Karen, glad your reunion went well. You can now relax and enjoy the day. Marlene

Good early evening. Well it got up briefly to 80° and the sun was out until I got home. That was way later than I expected. Walked into Walgreens, did my job and walked out 15 minutes later. The to $tree for a couple of things and then to Walmart. Little did I know they are redoing the entire store. What should have taken 30 minutes too over well over an hour and a half trying to find things. By the time I got groceries put away and got the pot roast going it was more important to start putting the freezer back together than going outside. I have 2 totes of chicken and one of mixed roast in the freezer. The temperature drops so fast because it is empty that I can only open a couple of times and then it is up to like +7 or so and before I opened it it was below zero. I am fixing the rest of dinner now and hope to get down after and get the 2 totes of vegetables all straightened out and moved. There is still fruit and misc. stuff plus all of the stuff that fills the entire door shelves. At least I am almost to the point I can find things in the other freezer.
Charlene, it must have been great fun being with the girls yesterday. You are sure getting lucky on seeming then often at the moment.
Sandy, I am sure you aren't real happy to see your vacation end. Sounds like you got a lot done however.
Mary, it always a thrill when a hummer meets you face to face.
Karen, you just have to let the conversations go. I saw your pictures and it looks like everyone was having a great time. You did a great job.
Carol.I love your attitude I may do the laundry or I may not. Which won out the laundry or reading your book.
Wendy, it seems more and more of your friends from NY are coming to live in your little community. How nice both new and old friends all at the same time.
Leslie, it is great that you are being able to spent more time with your sons and their families. The drive must be hard however. I lots of day drive over 100 miles when I am working but it is drive, work, drive. Also I drive county roads with not congestion or traffic.
Marlene, my freezers are pretty much organized all the time but not always inventoried. I am struggling with having one large upright which was full being thrown into another large upright and a small chest of which both were pushing beyond capacity. At least the freezer is working and it is just a matter of undoing the mess I made when I had to consolidate everything with no organization possible.
Well dinner is cooking so need to tend to it.
Enjoy your evening.
Bet

Good evening. Even though I did very little today, it still feels like the day has been longer than usual. I basically went to church and Kroger for a few things. Whoopee! Kroger was interesting. My quest to forget about chocolate may have gotten a little bit expensive. LOL! I'll have to space out my treats and sweets to make this visit worthwhile.
I have put aside the mess DM created yesterday. Everyone in the room understood that she and DH both do not have filters that work well anymore. It is what it was. Scrambled stuff comes out sometimes. The end. Now I am on a mission to see who left a pair of shoes here. You'd think someone would have missed them by now, wouldn't you?
Maybe the day has seemed extra long because we have been waiting on word from DH's family on the status of a cousin's cardiac surgery. He's a little bit younger than me and had surgery last year following a widow maker heart attack. They told him it was a possibility that his aorta could rupture at some point, and it did. A preliminary surgery was yesterday, but today has been a marathon surgical event. He's going into hour 12 right now. Prayers would be greatly appreciated!
Well, I am texting with the sister of the cousin in surgery as well as two of my sisters about the shoes. It is getting a little confusing so I will close this for now. Hope the day was good to everyone! G'night.

Looks like I never made it here today.
Not much to tell you about anyway. We were sunny with a high of 90* at some point.
Another little short walk with Chelsea this morning. She seems to be at her best in the morning hrs. But starts going downhill by mid afternoon. I'm helping her stand up now just to make it easier for her. And coaxing her to eat. At 3, I gave her 1/2 aspirin & "put her to bed". Then I decided to keep her company; so took my bills & laptop in the BR . Paid a few bills, set up next week's work schedule, etc; while she slept. I think we will be visiting the vet very shortly.
Prior to that I went to WM & DT for a few things & picked up a busted bag of mulch @ Lowe's.
Karen, I think you are right to "Just let sleeping dogs lie" & keep all the happy memories from yesterday. Nobody looked upset in the pictures. Looked like everybody was enjoying themselves.
Marianne sent me some pics from the college. Max was smiling & looked happy in all of them. He ended up with 2 roommates, rather than 3. (unless one arrives later) One from Pa.& one from Ga. Two are studying Sports/Entertainment Mmgt; 1 is Max & the 3rd is going for Hospitality Mgmt. so they will all have some classes in common. Unfortunately neither of them look like a neat freak. Leslie mentioned the messy bathroom of girls vs boys. Just picture it with 3 teenage boys.
