Good morning All................Hi Dave................
63 this morning and around 90 later. Then a big cool down. I will be glad to get rid of the humidity.
I did manage to get all the lawns mowed yesterday so now i can relax, knowing that is done since i work the next 3 days and we are to get rain too. I don't think i have ever mowed as much as i have this year.
Just work for me today. Have a good day All...............................larry

Good morning Larry and all who follow. Feels like another humid day but temps haven't been in the 90's this week.
I really need to mow the lawn again the dew is making it grow and the little bit of rain we had helped. At least it is getting green and not brown and crunchy.
Everything is back to working order at my site. Need a whole new mother board installed so that took a couple of hours to do. I got a lot of little jobs caught up and cleaned and read when I had nothing to do.
Just wanted to stop in and say hi! Have a good day.

Good Morning Larry and all..we finally broke the 100 degree days,we got almost an inch of rain last night, still very humid but a little better! When I see all of the fires in the west and the floods in La, I feel guilty complaining about the heat. At least my ac works although my last bill was hefty! If it dries up enough I will start mowing, it really grew in a hurry in that heat. This spring I had to cut back a couple of shrubs that died over the winter, could not get the stumps dug out so I put potting soil on them, threw some old zinnia seeds over that, and it has been the the most interesting thing this year, constant butterflies and humming birds visit all day long, it is where I can sit on the back deck and watch them. As far as the rest of the gardens go, it is going to be a huge job to get them cleaned up I just could not work in the 100 degree temps with such high humidity. I finally gave up trying when I got too hot, it isn't worth heat stroke. When it cools down a little I will get into that. I can remember the days when I could work outside no matter how hot it got, but the older I get the more the heat and humidity gets to me. DARN nobody told me that I would get to the point I couldn't do those things:(( Ok I will quit griping and just be thankful I am still upright!!!! Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning everyone. A nice sunny 66 here this morning which means I can get outside and get some much needed weeding done. The rain we have had over the last few days has brought life back to the gardens - the flowers look much happier (?) - yeah, they do and the grass is slowly reverting from brown to green, which means that very soon the background noise here in the country will be mowers.
Have a wonderful day.

Good morning. 60 here and sunny. Could get some T storms this after noon. Last night after work I went to the community garden and was surprised to see so many ripe tomatoes. I picked a plastic shopping bag full. Many are in pretty rough shape from being dry then wet so were cracking. Came home and canned the ones that I knew wouldn't keep and weren't good for slicing. Ended up with 3 quarts. Don't see having a lot of canning this year but if we have a late fall that could all change.
Just work for me today. It is my Friday. Can't wait. Hopefully will get some yard work done this weekend.
Have a great day.

Good morning all. Rain clears off and am going to try and get outside to dig out two bushes I am tired of mowing around. Very large viburnum and a nine bark. If not today then definitely when fall comes. Have a great day

Good morning.
It is going to be a hot and muggy day, so nothing new there but the next 3 days will be in the lower 70s, yay!! Molly I hear ya about the heat being harder to take as we get older. I am so ready for the nice crisp cold of old man winter.
I am only going to work 7 hours and then go get groceries.

Good morning! Yes, it's going to be hot and humid here as well. I still can't believe how our planet is changing with regards to the weather pattern.
Well I have my appointment with the eye specialist this morning. Then on to Costco, and later on back to weeding. I did get some done yesterday, but it was only along one fence. I have over 150' still to do....yuck!
I plan to continue knitting at some point and watching the Olympics. Strange Olympics this year, but the athletes are doing great.
Have a nice day!

Good morning everyone. It was very foggy earlier this morning...0 visibility in most areas. I am glad I didn't have to travel any where. Of course the fog means that it is humid. It is so close outside it is hard to take a deep breath.
Once again...no idea what I will do today for sure...lots of options. Last night DGS brought us a bunch of corn. Larry will eat some, but the rest I will freeze since the whole family loves it at Thanksgiving. I have a problem eating corn any more, but such is life.
I hadn't planted the old fashioned tall zinnias for a few years until last year and this year again. I am amazed how the butterflies and hummers gather around them. I saw 4 swallowtails on them yesterday and the day prior there were 3 monarchs on them. The tall ones haven't mildewed for me like the profusions have with all of our moisture and humidity this year.
It sounds like we all have our weather issues to contend with....hope everyone stays cool today and has a good day. I haven't watched any Olympics this year...hard for me to make myself watch TV in the summer time when i can be outside instead. Charlene

Good morning. 68 and very humid here as well. Dh opened windows and turned off the air last night, and the first thing I did this morning was shut windows and turn on the air! I'm really sick of the humidity thats for sure.
Need to wash my bedding today and dd and I will do our zucchini cookies (yes Charlene, they are chocolate choc chip, but I do have a raisin spice kind I make as well b/c dh likes those better than chocolate). She is going to give Cooper a bath today as well. His Ode De Skunk is resurfacing!! lol
Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Good Morning all, another hot and humid day, low 90's. at least we are out of that 100* weather we have been having. A surprise thunder storm came through last evening with much thunder and lightening. At least I didn't lose power. My Comcast service was off and on most of the day so was unable to post. I think they have fixed the problem now. I hope so! So dependent on the service.
Meant to bake something yesterday...that didn't get done, maybe today.
Some house cleaning needs to be done today. I do the lighter things and have help with the heavier work. Because of back problems, I have a hard time vacuuming and lifting or moving anything. I hate to have to depend on someone else to do things that I've always been able to do myself. I want the body back that I had 10 years ago!! Where did it go and when? I hope everyone has a super day!

Good morning. I have been awake since 3 and up since 5:30, but just getting on here. I did post a pic in Steve's thread earlier but the VIP wasn't open. I planned to wait til I was in between making videos on the desktop to post here but that hasn't happened. Hopefully my tab won't crash like it did while trying to post on the chit chat last night. Maybe I should post this now and edit to add more just in case.
I did get some weeds pulled yesterday and planned to do more this morning but I spent too much time in Lowe's after taking DGS to daycare. On the way home, though I picked up a metal shelf unit on the side of my road. Don't know if it fell off a truck or if someone threw it over the fence of a storage unit next to it. It wasn't near a house and since it was there when I left and still there when I came back I figured it was fair game. I'll clean it and paint it to use, perhaps on my front porch.
I'm trying to get the videos done to last till Christmas break but it takes time to save them and I don't dare do anything else on the computer while it is saving it. They are pretty large files. We will have to look for something else to use starting in January.
Better go check on the last video for October and start on November. While each one of those saves I'll work on installing more shelves in the laundry area. I had to get long screws to finish that project.

Good morning. 70 and cloudy right now, but suppose to go up to 82 by 5pm and stay cloudy. I will start cutting back some of the perennials that have finished for the year, as some are getting tattered looking, and don't think anything is feeding off of them. Will also start collecting some interesting seed pods for rainy-day projects with the grandkids. Hope everyone has a great day
