Lovely marigolds, Steve. I weeded around mine yesterday so hope they make a comeback and I can enjoy them a little while. Marnee, that is a beautiful mum. I am so looking forward to fall, so I will post a mum pic also. Sorry it is so big. I'm on my phone and didn't think to try to edit the size before I copied.

Steve...I love marigolds and plan on having more next year! Mary...that is a very pretty mum. Ours are actually budded, so won't be long now. Leslie...that is a gorgeous mum picture...and easy for me to see!! I got this seed from Larry's cousin...thanks to Sandy's pictures, I now know it is an evening scented Nicotiana....the picture isnt very clear since the humidity fogged up the lense. ++++++++++++++++++ One small bed in front of our porch

Steve-I like those yellow/orange marigolds. Mary and Leslie-Nice mums. I have some perennial mums that should be blooming soon. Charlene-I really like that bed and that nicotiana is great. Gitti-Nice hibiscus! Mine will never bloom this year. I'll move them next year I guess. Here is the Leaping Rock Mary from Pipestone. A bit hard to see with shadows but you can see the profile of the face. Rough blazing star from the SW prairie at Jeffers Petroglyphs. Common Sunflower - helianthus annuus The petroglyphs at Jeffers were hard to photograph, especially b/c it was overcast. These are carved in to the rock and carvings ranged from 10,000 to 500 years old. This one is probably a young carving. Split rock park in South Dakota (since we were so close!).

This is actually two rose bushes climbing up both sides of the trellis. There is a stained glass butterfly in the middle that you can barely make out. Leslie, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw your picture was that it would make gorgeous wallpaper or a screen saver for a computer, but I think you use your phone mostly, don't you? Anyway, it's lovely! Your trip pics are awesome, Melissa! Abey, your flowers are both such striking colors. I love them! I enjoyed everyone else's pics also, but DH is on his way home and I don't have time to post for everyone right now. Thanks for sharing all the photos. They are inspiring.

Marnee... Those mums were just so pretty. Seeing lots of beautiful mums bloom is about the only good thing there is about fall.
Leslie... You have a nice mum picture as well. They are a really nice color.
Charlene... Thats a couple of pictures of some beautiful flowers. What a nice flower bed to have next to your porch.
Gitti... That appears to be a rose of sharon. I have some that color as well and I really love seeing them bloom. Apparently the flowers are full of nectar from the way the bees are covered in nectar when they're visiting the blooms.
Lair... Your lilies are gorgeous. That color combo looks great with them.
Melissa... Thats some more great pictures. You get some of the best pictures on your vacations.
Carol... Hope you can get some marigolds to do much better next year. They are really a fun flower to grow.
Marg... Now you gotta get some marigolds next year too. They're just too easy to grow not to take advantage of their continuous blooms.
Gayle... Your rose of sharon is a beauty as well. I love the dark centers those flowers have.
Abey... Those are some beauties. Sure hope you do get them and can share more pictures of them with us.
Karen... Your roses are beautiful. Those things are full of blooms. Hope you get time to go out and sniff the fragrance of those beauties.
Thanks everyone for these great pictures and comments today.
