Good morning. It is 35°here this morning and mostly cloudy at the moment. We will see some sun today but will be lucky if the temperature reaches 50°. Tonight is to be 27°with wide spread frost. All my babies are tucked in the greenhouse with the heat on so they are nice and warm. At least so far the wind isn't blowing. The past few days the wind has been really chilly. Nothing planned for today except work and deliver posters to a couple of gold courses. If I get lucky or maybe I should say don't get lazy I could finish all of my work today but it would make for a long day. If I go north rather than stopping when I get back in town I only have one store for work but there are 4 golf courses that I need to stop at. Also should stop at some stores and put up Garage Sale posters. I finished the last 10 small posters this morning. Have 50 8 1/2X11 and 10 11X17. I will need to print more big ones. I went to bed last night and left the printer doing more posters. Had to replace some ink this morning before I could finish.
Have a great day.

Good morning. Overnight low was 40 and the high is 72. I left everything out last night and it all looks good. I gave all the plants a pep talk so I’m sure that helped. Lol! You’ll be fine! 😂 I’m sick of carting them around.
Yesterday I spent more time working on potting things up. I’ve gone thru 8 of my big bags of miracle grow so far. These are sams club bags so they are bigger than the 2cu ft bags. I also planted some more things in beds. Rain tomorrow so I really want to get the veggies in today. So much work. I enjoy it but it always seems like I am battling weather. We went from winter to summer and lost that transition time. Setting annuals out at 80 and dry is a bit more challenging then temps in the 60s. I’ve had to water seedlings 3-4x a day. We’ll have those cooler temps now for the next week and less blaring sun so a good time to get things in. They just have to be ok at 40, so last night was the test. Nothing colder forecast so TG for that.
Girls won both their games last night so that was good. No softball today. Dds last day of college today!! She checks out of her dorm at 1:30 then heads home. Can’t believe she has her bachelors degree already at 20 and is graduating debt free. Super proud mama moment! She has worked hard.
I need to do a little laundry today between planting. Otherwise will spend the day outside. Dh has to go to the cities area for work but should be home by dinner. Guess I should figure out what dinner is going to be!
Need to get dds lunch made and feed the dog. Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. It was 48º earlier and going to 70º or just a bit warmer. The sun will play peek-a-boo today so we will see it off and on.
Yesterday was an extremely busy day and all this week will be the same. I entertained for lunch and had to excuse myself early to go and build the float. That went fine once the "over thinking man" had to leave to go to a meeting. He is a carpenter by trade and thinks we need to build this float to withstand a hurricane....lol. I got home at 5:30 and then watered all of the seedlings since the almost 80º had dried them out tremendously. I hope the guy comes soon to get his 40 tomato plants. I then will give the rest of them to the food pantry except for the few I have set aside for DS & DDIL and Curt wants a couple.
Curt and Lair want to do plant shopping this afternoon. I need to mow soon and my friends are gone for a few days to Kansas City so I need to feed their birds and water plants for them. It is Oriole season, so that means filling those feeders twice per day....glad they only live a couple miles from town.
Melissa...thanks for opening. I was about to do it and had the meme in my browser, so posted it anyway. You have a right to be a proud Mama! Congrats to Tess on her achievement at such a young age. When will her job start? I think she's working the same as last year, right?
Bette...I hope you don't get that cold tonight, but it sounds like you are prepared in case it does.
I need to read yesterday's posts. I am gibing myself until 8 am to be here or do what ever I want before starting my day's work. Charlene

Charlene-Yes she will be doing the same job as last summer. She starts back Monday.
Bet-Sorry for the cold temps. I’m being optimistic we will not see anything that cold now until fall. Its been such a weird spring.

Melissa...Our concession stand is owned and operated by the school, so I guess that makes a difference. They are offered the option of work 2 nights or pay $50 and if it were up to DDIL, they'd pay the money, but DS enjoys working since you get to visit with lots of people. I guess he inherited my social gene...lol.
Carol...Hope you got your balcony time in yesterday. My front porch faces west, so it is often too sunny to sit out there from about 5-6:30 and then it's shade again.
Marlene.....Glad you had a good time with your sisters in MI. I think their theory is correct on tulips fading from year to year. I can see it when looking at my pictures from a few years ago vs now. I guess I need new bulbs since DGD wants tulips for her wedding next May.
Mary KY...No the weeds are not all gone...just a few have been pulled and I know others will come to replace them....lol. I hope your weather cleared off for you to have your walk yesterday.
Karen....Don't overthink the duck thing. They chose your yard because it must have what they want, so too many changes may scare them away even though you think you're improving things. We can't think like a duck. I hope advertising free daisies on FB doesn't back fire on you. I dug up a bunch of hostas once and offered them free on FB. The next day I went out to discover a lady with a shovel trying to decide which hostas she wanted rather than taking the ones I had sitting on the curb for free.
Jean...Both of your tulips tours sound lovely. I have been to Pella Iowa but never during tulip time. I have Dutch ancestry, so I think I would love both trips and especially like the parade. Please stop by more often.
Gayle...I hope you have a happy birthday and enjoy your trip to the nursery. Be sure to buy yourself a nice present! (presents)
Bette...So were you re-elected to your job. It certainly seems to be a time consuming one.
Today is my DGD's birthday (Brandi) but it is also my oldest sister and DBIL's 70th wedding anniversary. I am disappointed that their children aren't having a celebration in their honor. That is quite a milestone and should be acknowledged. Their kids are feuding which also infuriates me...life is too short. Charlene

Just popping in for a minute before heading off to get my hair cut. I was in the dentist chair at 8 this morning and then will be on the golf course just after 2 so busy, with not much time to achieve anything else! Yesterday wasn't much different as it was a canning morning and then the dentist in the afternoon. At least my crown is now finished and so is my money - boy, they're expensive these days!!!
Seems like we all have some chillier than we would like weather - at least today is bright and sunny instead of yesterday's clouds. Looked like rain late on but it came to nothing. We have a complete burn ban in place so I guess we really do need some rain.
Have a wonderful day. PS Congrats to your daughter Melissa - that is quite an achievement!

Bet, I hope your garage sale is a success. With all those posters you certainly are getting the word out. Melissa, your weather mirrors mine. Right now we are dealing with the smoke from the wildfires in Canada so it is hazy out. Yesterday DSIL Jason swept my road ditches for gravel that seems to creep in over the winter. Later today I will be mowing. Have a good day everyone. Marlene

Good morning, it is currently 60° and hazy sunshine out there. Not getting much warmer according to the weather people. I spent a good part of yesterday on the balcony. There was a breeze going but not coming across the balcony to much.
Have no idea what I will fix for my meal today. Have lots of things in the freezer just need to pull something out.
Last night was another of the can't get to sleep nights so was up until around 3 so was late getting up.
Have a good day.

Good afternoon all! Beautiful sunny day. It's hard to imagine your temperature differences. I watered everything this morning and went to aerobics.
Two of my gfs drove Pastor back to the airport this morning. It was good he saw his mother to see that she is in stable condition and good spirits for now.
I'm debating whether! to change and go back to the pool or stay and get some stitching done before prayer meeting this evening. I also want to make some headbands that I saw a tutorial for. You braid three strips of fabric from a tee shirt and attach the each end of the length you need to each side of an elastic ponytail holder. I'm trying to figure the best way to finish the ends as opposed to tying and using a hot glue gun.
Hope you're enjoying your day.

Good afternoon. It is sunny and decidedly chillier than we have been. Upper 50s and windy feels quite unpleasant after being in the upper 70s the past few days. The forecast is still for us to get down into the upper 30s for our low tonight. So long as it doesn't go lower than that, things should be fine.
I didn't sleep well last night. As a result, I was in no mood to get up when my alarm went off at 8:00. I gave myself an extra 15 minutes to wake up, but that really had me running behind. I was the last one at the museum this morning. Good thing my pay wouldn't get docked for being late. LOL! We got a ton of stuff done again today. I think we are all less likely to want to keep "stuff" around that doesn't pertain to our town. Jack kept way more than we are willing to at this point. While we were shuffling things around, I uncovered a dead bird between two file cabinets. That isn't uncommon around there as the birds get in somewhere, but it was a frightening thing for me - so I SCREAMED. We never know what we will encounter that needs doing, but that wasn't ever on anyone's radar.
After I left there, I had to come home and grab a bite to eat. I never ate a thing before leaving this morning. I told DH I was going up to the city building to pay our water bill, and then I'd go to Walmart for his insulin. He did a good job picking up around here in case his cousin comes through the house to get to the backyard. When I got home, there was a message from another cousin of DH's who would like some daisies. I thought his sister was going to pick some up for both herself and him either tomorrow or Friday, so this isn't an extra person - just a situation trying to figure out who will be taking what and when. Today a cousin is coming to snag some for herself and a sister. Tomorrow a neighbor is coming by. The other cousin will be here at some point. She's in Michigan waiting on a dog to have pups so she can head home to the south of us. We are on her way home, so she thought she'd stop by after the dog delivers. I'm also fielding phone calls and texts about wood at the museum. I feel like I have too many plates spinning in the air all at the same time. Also, not to be forgotten is DSis#5 calling and leaving half a message on my phone about DM's insurance. I called her back and texted her, but so far nothing back. At least our insurance company notified me that the mortgage company did get them a check for our insurance! Such a day so far!!!
Briefly, I am not too worried, Charlene, about a situation like you had because my daisies are in the fenced-in backyard. I doubt anyone is going in there without us noticing. Also, I took down my FB post once I felt like I had all the people taking daisies that I was willing to give up.
Well, I'd love to write more but have to keep moving. I should water outside. The wind is drying up the few seedlings I still need to get planted. Wishing everyone a wonderful Wednesday!

Good afternoon,
We've been in the 70s & we were hazy earlier. Some weather guy said it was because of wildfires but I don't know of any anywhere near here. Anyway the sun made it through about an hour ago.
I went to the nursery this morning & left there with a trunk full of plants & a quart of strawberries. And I stayed in my budget, surprise, surprise. In fact enough left of the budget to stop & get some potting soil.
Cell packs of 4 were $2.99 & I got 11 of them, a potted Purslane for my hanging basket was $7.99 & the strawberries were $5.98 . The 6" pots were $4.99 & large hanging baskets $21.99 but I resisted both. I've been promised a late Mothers Day/Birthday trip to the big nursery near Mike's when I go up next week for Max's graduation. I'm sure I can find something else I NEED.
Stopped by WM on the way home for birdseed & their 4 cell packs were $3.47.
I already potted up the Purslane, just moved it from one basket like pot to a hanging basket. Took like 30 seconds. I came home with Lobelia & planted it in a pot that I put in the exact same spot I had the volunteers in last year It did really well there, so fingers crossed it does again.
Melissa, congratulations to your DD. Quite an accomplishment. Will there be a graduation ceremony?
I am going to have supper at youngest DB's house & DB#1 will be picking me up in 1/2 hr so I need to get off here & go feed the furbabies before I leave.
I scrolled over the B'day thread. Will read that later but TIA for the wishes.
Be back later tonight.

Good evening. Not much going on. Still counting down the days. I read pretty much every day but it's usually too late in the day to bother posting. Maybe I'll catch up this weekend.
