Good morning everyone. It is 47º and going to 70º later and also supposed to be sunny. Sounds like an outside day this afternoon.
Yesterday was a fun day and we were outside most of the afternoon. All of the family was here except for DGD's fiancée who was on call for both the city and fire department this weekend. DGS#2 again brought his GF and 2 little boys. The oldest buy (3) is calling me Grandma. I don't have a lot of outside toys for kids any more, but I have lots of diggers and small buckets which entertained them for several hours. Who need toys?
This morning I have to clean for the lady minister, so I'd better get ready to go.
Happy Monday to all and I hope everyone had a nice Easter. Charlene

Good morning. I’ve been up a bit but watched a show off the dvr while having my coffee. I have 36 and a high of 63 expected. We hit 55 yesterday. We have wind along with the warmer temps (thats why we have warmer temps, a southwest wind drawing up warm air), but the wind is also helping with the excess moisture.
We had a nice Easter at my moms. We left her house about 4 for home. My niece goes back to work today and the kids go back to school. Hopefully they all have a great day.
My plan for today is to start doing some painting of trim. I hate to stand in the flower beds on the south side but that is where the windows are. I should try to scoop a layer of wet sunflower shells off the ground under the feeders because there are a lot of them. First I need to see if there are any new seedlings up to get under lights and I do have some transplanting to do.
Charlene-How sweet that the little guy calls you grandma.
Wishing everyone a great day.

Good morning! 70° and partly cloudy. A beautiful cold front came through last evening and pushed all that record heat out. Hoping for some rain. Spring temps hopefully will stick around a while. I got out early and transplanted zinnia seedlings to another part of the garden. Perfect weather for it and there were way too many to give them a good chance to flourish. I'm hoping for not a bare spot to show this year.
The Contada was a success. Choir is over until the winter residents start to return next Fall. I'm looking forward to a normal week and will be leaving shortly for aerobics.
Have a wonderful day!

It is sunny and cold right now, but the day holds the promise of warmth and sunshine. I'm a happy girl on that! We had a very enjoyable Easter. I'm thankful. After church, I did make the April video of the backyard and found some nice surprises coming up. I talked with DM for a while and texted with all of my sisters but #1 who doesn't keep in touch with anyone in the family - but presumably her DDs. Mid afternoon, DSon texted about a video chat when they got home from spending time with DDIL's family. Because more family showed up than was expected, the family time there went longer than he thought it would. We got in our visit when they did get home, albeit a short one. Everyone, including me, was tired. I could have rambled on and on, but Mac was hyped up on sugar (imagine that on Easter) and wasn't interested in staying in one place long. He did play peek-a-boo with us and showed us some of his things he got for Easter. Apparently, the Easter Bunny came to his house. It wasn't a surprise to him (because I asked) as he was expecting him to have come when he woke up. That was likely the cause for the early wakeup time. Anyone able to relate to that? LOL! I forewarned DSon to be on the lookout for a butterfly eclosure. They still have the chrysalises I sent them home with in the fall. Anytime now, eclosures from overwintering cats can happen. Hopefully they get butterflies! Surprisingly, our meal went off without a hitch. I wasn't stressed about any of it because half of the menu was already fixed. I need to remember from now on what I did this year. I am pretty sure I was in bed by 9:00 last night. For being as tired as I was, it took a while to fall asleep. Even then, I woke up a handful of times in the night. Eight hours of sleep these days doesn't seem like it will happen anymore. Three or four hours here and there are about all I can muster. Anyway, Easter was a really nice and peaceful time around here. That being said, I'm pretty sure today will be the day I take down the Easter decorations. Since it is Monday, I want to do more cleaning in the basement so I can get stuff in the garbage before pickup tomorrow morning. May as well get the Easter stuff downstairs since I am going down anyway. I may treat myself as a reward to sitting outside to listen to and observe nature. I think we will be near 70 today. I'm glad to see, Bet, that you had a good Easter. Sorry I missed your thread. I don't know how that happened. Charlene, so you don't have to go out and invest in toys for the littles I wonder if a scavenger hunt might work for when you have small visitors. I plan to do that for Mac after seeing it suggested somewhere. The hunts can be tailored to age or even weather conditions. I know DSis#3 got a lot of mileage out of her DGSon she doesn't see all that often digging at her place. He was a master at finding rocks and all sorts of things. My DM told me yesterday that she had a babysitter that used to tell her to go out in the backyard and dig to see what toys she could find. What a clever fella he was! Eventually, though, she figured out there probably weren't any toys buried in the yard. LOL! Well, I guess I better go grab my last cuppa tea and start pulling decorations while I sip. Have a marvelous Monday! Melissa, I'm happy to hear you had a nice Easter with your family. Good luck on the painting! I should scoop up sunflower shells also. Yuck! But that is the price I pay for enjoying my birds. Nice, Wendy, that the cantata was a success. It will be good to be able to have more time for your outside pleasures with choir done for a while. Have a good day, Carol!

Good morning,
The sun is shining brightly and the temp is currently at 46 degrees and supposed to get to 66. Tomorrow to be more of the same. Nothing much on the agenda for today but I am sure I can keep busy if I want to.
Nothing much to add so have a good day everyone.

Good morning. It was 29°here this morning and sunny. It is suppose to get up to 60°today. Didn't do much yesterday except play with electronics and still haven't accomplished what I want. Have been watering my babies this morning and am heading outside to finish the greenhouse set up. It will be tee shirt weather in there for sure. I really need to get some more seed planted also. Not sure if I will get into anything else. I do need to or should run to town this afternoon and pick up my mail. I do have seed there that needs to get planted. I had another flat of petunias up this morning. There is also transplanting to be done. House plants need water. I guess plants from now on are going to be my main focus. They can be very demanding. Yesterday when I got home from DD's I had some scrap beef tenderloin pieces that I cooked up for beef tips that will be dinner tonight over egg noodles. Have fresh asparagus for a side but dessert is TBD. Probably should be skipped. We will see.
Charlene, great that you were able to spend some most of the afternoon outside yesterday. It was nice here but the wind was a bit chilly while Annabelle was doing her Easter Egg hunt. Wish I could get out and do some yard work. Only bare ground is under the trees on the north side of the property.
Wendy, hope the zinnia transplants take off for you. Nice that the cantata went well both days.
Karen, wise move to take the decorations to the basement as long as you are going down. I pile things at the top of the basement stairs and the bottom of the balcony stairs and still manage to walk by them when I am going up or down.
Melissa, glad you had a great time yesterday. Hope your niece and kids do well today getting back in the daily life.
Carol, it is nice to be able to choose if you want to be busy or not.
Have a great day.

Good morning. Its 47° and rainy this morning headed to daytime highs near 50 degrees. We expect steady rain much of the day and hope to see some dry days by Friday and Saturday.
We had a very nice Easter, church in the morning and relaxing afternoon and a lovely dinner.
My sister in ND was having the family home for Easter. She had to have the roads and driveway plowed to the farm so the kids could come home. Looking out her windows they still have snowbanks way over 5 feet tall around the yard. Looking out my windows I see green grass that needs mowing but I also see lots of the neighbor’s beautiful yellow daffodils and my yellow daffodils.
Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon,
We are sunny & 64* but got down to 34 overnight. I had considered opening the GH before I left since it has started getting pretty warm in there during the days. I'm glad I didn't do it.
Mike is about 150 mi north of me. And even though he's been having warmer days than me, the forecast there was for scattered frost last night & there was some on my windshield this morning.
He had a full house of in-laws yesterday, incl his MIL. Her son drove his van there from Del. & picked her up from the nursing home on the way.
Max has decided to go to Univ. So. Carolina so one decision made.
They are both getting too big too fast.
Charlene, I think it's cute the little one calls you Grandma.
I stopped on the way home & got my mulch so that will get me started. Supposed to be sunny & 70s tomorrow so plan on spending the day in the yard.
Hope everybody had a good Easter.

Mary, love ham and cabbage. That is what I had growing up no corned beef.
Marnee, you are still having some colder weather. At the moment we are into almost summer temperature for a few days but still spring morning temperatures. Crazy weather. I have snowbanks still that I don't time will ever go away and some are over 5' but fortunately only maybe a foot on the ground still.
hi Dave nice to see you dropping in a little more often.
Gayle, can't believe you were that cold overnight. Not much warmer than me. Great that Max has decided on a college. That is a big decision for these kids as it could decide their entire future. By Thursday I am suppose to be as warn as you will be tomorrow but that won't last.
I have a crazy love sick woodpecker that is driving me nuts. He is tapping for a mate. Since I have had a pair coupe of pairs here all winter thought maybe they had decided. I's not sure but I think it is a hairy. I saw one this morning in the tree it sounded like the sound was coming from but he has about 3 at least around my house. he starts at day break and continues until almost dusk. I sure hope she answers him soon.
I got the one greenhouse finished up today with the carpet etc. and one seed rack in there. Problem is I can't get the benches out the door as it is still snowed in and not sure how I get them into the garage and out that way. Plus the benches are loaded in the shop.
Spent way too much time on the down the rabbit hole looking for a vegetable idea to go with the dinner I am cooking for the Lions' meeting next Monday. Haven't decided yet. Thank goodness someone else is responsible for dessert.
Need to get some dinner soon. It is going to be 8 now before I eat.
Enjoy your evening.
Bet
