Good Morning, Another hot and humid day, so glad when this humidity leaves. Its 70* and going to a high near 85*. Well I didn't sleep much last night, and don't know why so I'm very slow. I did do a few things yesterday one was the check book, I was a couple of weeks behind, first I had to wait for the statement as I couldn't find where or what I deposited, but I had that statement for 1 week, so I just did it finally. Cleaned out my drawer and threw lots of things away, looks so much better. Cleaned out the refrig, then I decided since Gage couldn't mow, (too wet) I would take him out for lunch. He wanted subway, so that's what we did. After eating I took him home and he read to me for a while. I then put on some spareribs, and after supper went and pulled some weeds, and more weeds. I can't believe how big those darn weeds are. Today it is booth day and after that I'm not sure what I will do, seeing I didn't get many Z's, I may just watch TV. Have leftovers for supper.
Well I can't remember much this morning, but here goes.
Lair, Yes we got 2.5 inches of rain, so we are good for now.
Anglea, thanks for the link, I think I will pass.
Mary in Michigan, Glad you have some energy.
Jan, No unemployment, funny Allen paid into it, he should be able to get it.
gKids, Did you get the lilies planted?
Leroy, Nice people to work for let you work in the evening.
Mary Are you all rested up?
Well I better get some breakfast and get busy, I want to vacuum the upstairs before leaving the house, can't do anything outside as it is so dewy. Have a great day.

Morning, Carol. It's going to be hot here - in the high 80's or low 90's, I think they said. We got some rain again yesterday.
Going to get the plates for the car today, and pay the sales tax, I think. I work tonight from 5 to 9, then 7 am to 12 pm the next two days.
Crab grass is getting ahead of me, but it's too hot to pull it. Guess it will wait.
HAve a good day.
Leroy

Morning everyone. We had some rain overnight but not sure how much as I didn't go out and check. I don't think we were supposed to get any but will take it. The grass is finally starting to look like grass instead of straw. :)
I did only what I had to do yesterday which was very little. I had some yogurt the day before and some lunch meat for lunch and one or both made me sick during the night so I felt awful yesterday. Perking away today. Right now it is semi-cloudy outside but the H&H are supposed to come back today and tomorrow, then they are promising us 70's for the week-end and all next week---my kind of temps.
When I read where Allen had gone for unemployment and was denied, it didn't surprise me. They say you have to be able to work, not off because of illness. And I thoroughly agree that we all paid into it and should be able to collect it whether we got, fired, laid off or because of an illness.
Need to change the waters in the lilies, but no not planted yet. They are going to go on the South side of the house and there is no overhang there or trees so it is just downright hot out there until evening and then I don't have any energy to be digging. One of these days we'll have a breeze and cloudy skies and they'll get done, until then they will just have to have wet feet. Not too worried because son has lots of them so if these don't make it I'm sure he'll gladly share some more. :-S
Have a nice day everybody.

Good morning all--apparently we had some rain over night. The window screen is wet by the bird feeder is wet. I have a 'squirrel' saucer over the feeder but it is a little tipsy & the rain splatters the window. It is supposed to be on the humid side again today here also--crap--let's just have some days in the low 70's for about 3 months. Wouldn't that be great!!
Carol--Being Allen can't drive(spot on his brain) is why he isn't working now. And for unemployment you have to be 'willing/available and able to work'
No word on a job yet. I did get an email from one that I sent to that is a volunteer thus no pay. I did send to one place that is full time on Monday. Plus I have an interview on the 31st so we shall see what happens.
No much else new--so I guess I will ado for now & go scare up some breakie. Take care
Jan

Good Morning, It is 70* and the sun is shining. Today is to be humid and I am not sure of what the temp should be. Yesterday they said 83 and we hit 89* by 1 pm. I think I may just do the same thing today as I did yesterday, breath and hold down a chair. I am getting good at it. I did get one bed watered last night and some weeds pulled out of there but it was a little too wet after I watered. I am simply amazed at my strawberry plant. Last fall I saw it growing in the grass compliment of a bird. I too and moved it to the long narrow bed under the eves of my shop. Last night weeding was difficult because of all the runners. There must be 30 plants there now. All look real healthy and shooting runners like crazy. I didn't plan a future when I planted it there but I guess I should start.
I am a little blue today. I am missing my cats that I lost last month. Started when I looked out this morning and thought I saw one in the yard. Turns out it was a plastic container blown over from neighbors but at first glance it wasn't. Seems like each one has a special spot in the heart that's empty now. Last night I was reminded at how much shorter the days are getting. Feels like we have lost about an hour in the evenings from when the lightning bugs were giving us a show. Well, Tim is out of the shower so I best go and talk to him before he leaves. He seems to be feeling better this morning. I'll check back later.

Morning all! Looks to be a warm one today around 86° or so. It is very calm this morning & if it continues this way with no breeze, it'll plenty warm. Guess we had better get the a/c going sooner rather than later as is the norm here! Watering the plants will be a for sure thing. Unlike you, Lair I will not be watering my beds! Sorry, weird sense of ha ha here!😊 That is just what I thought of when I read your post! Of course I knew what you meant!
Everyone is off to a busy day it seems. Laundry here but that isn't too exciting. Should go out right now while the temps are bearable. So quiet in the neighbourhood. No one is out on the lake & makes me think fall can't be too far behind. Yesterday too, the lake was just glassy and calm but not a soul around! Did see the neighbour gals out in the pedal boat last night but nothing else.
Enough chatter & will get rolling. See you all later. Make it a good one!

Hi Everyone, I don't know what I was doing wrong, but I couldn't get a picture of Brylie to download. DS text me this and another one last night. I asked Bryan if she was going to be his 'lawn cheerleader' because she had her little green pom poms. He said she wanted to help. She kept saying, "I help and let me, let me." I said, "Let's just hope she doesn't start pulling the good grass." He said, 'She was pulling some of that also." Do you think she would come help grandma? In the other picture she was squatted down pulling on the clump at the corner of the walk. I doubt she pulled those clumps herself. Gees, I can't even pull a clump like that. Mom must not have been home to see her with white shorts on playing in the dirt. LOL
DS's front yard is sod and the back yard is crapgrass. No that isn't a typo. He didn't realize that they didn't put black dirt back down on his backyard. Once he signed off on all the papers that he has inspected the place and everything was okay they wouldn't put any black dirt down for him. He wasn't happy but what can you do. My dad always said, "The most expensive lesson you learn come via your pocketbook." Grandpa Leo where were you when this kid needed that Life Lesson? My dad passed when my son was 10.
We went out for breakfast this morning. The guy was coming to repair the thresholds of both sheds because they were leaking, plus he looked at the wrinkles in some of the sheet metal. He's coming back to repair those. He doesn't know where they came from but it didn't happen from unloading them. He got a first hand look at some of the workmanship. Hey, any time I was over there it was kids working on this stuff; some of them were Amish. We weren't home maybe 45 minutes yesterday and a young gal pulled into the neighbor's driveway. I had to do a double take. She said her name but it took me a few seconds to realize who she was. It was the youngest DD of hubby's lifelong friend. They grew up together and got in A LOT of TROUBLE together; they were HS smoking and drinking buddies. He was also best man at our wedding. Seriously, these two were like brothers until a riff happened during/after the friend's divorce. He wouldn't talk to DH; he finally apologized to DH after many years. DH had let it go long before that, but it has to work both ways. The two have talked cordially over the years, but it was never the same. Jerry has stopped to see this guy off and on over the years and knew something healthwise was going on. He said he just saw him 3 wks. ago and knew he wasn't well and getting worse. He wasn't going to ask him, and the guy never said a word that he was sick.
We had been gone since early Saturday morning, and she said she kept stopping trying to catch Jerry at home. Sadly, she was bringing bad news; they only give her dad a week or so; he has Stage 4 lung cancer. She just sent Jerry a text that he was awake and getting a bath, so he just went up there to see him. I told Jerry that I wasn't going; he needed to do this by himself so they could talk privately. It's gonna be a sad day real soon.
Well, I need to go chase some weeds to take my mind off this situation. I'll come back later and chat some more maybe.
