Good afternoon, friends! The muggies have slowly decreased over the course of the day; tonight could be a windows open night...oh, I hope so!!!
Went to the senior center and then went to get my "hairs" cut...nice feeling! I then took my mom to the audiologist for a check up and wax removal. On the way home we stopped at Big Lots...had a coupon and there was a 20% off everything promotion.
Nancy - The TJ's Scallion pancakes were OUTSTANDING!!! I heated them in a non-stick skillet w/o any additional oil. Don't forget to look for the garlic fries next time you are there...!
Jan - I try to cook for two, but it usually doesn't work!!! We both like leftovers, thankfully! So good to see you again!!!
Betsy - Good idea to have sammies after your "traffic" drive...you need to decompress!
Lori - I was contemplating buying some enchilada sauce at Big Lots this afternoon, but decided to come back if I found a recipe I was interested in. Let me know how you like your supper.
Have to get moving on supper...leftovers from Saturday. I mashed the cauliflower and potatoes together and will serve pickled beets with the pork. Waving to all!

We had roasted chicken, corn, peas, and a salad. It looks like rain again. Hope to hear it on the roof soon. I had to cancel Hubby's doctor's appointment yesterday. I simply could not maneuver him into the car. And it was so hot! We both had a good nap to recover. We'll try again tomorrow. I finally have another book and it looks like a good one. Just need a few games of solitaire to unwind and then I'll settle down with it. Sweet dreams.

Good evening Friends. We had left over steaks for supper. I did not sleep much at all last night so when I got home from work I fell asleep on the bed for 2 hours. LOL That explains the left overs! Tomorrow will be tacos. Tomorrow will be my favorite Deli town. I am going to try the one that I tried once before and did not like so much. I need to give it a fair shake. It has weird foods LO. Things like beet flour bread. Not sure I like that. Hope you all have a great night. Oh Have to tell you what happened to me this morning. We had storms pass through and so we had some strong winds this morning. I had a skirt on for work. When I went out into the parking to go see a client my skirt blew way up and showed... yep! So I grabbed it and ended up ripping my zipper out and it went down over my behind! A prep cook from the restaurant was looking out the window and saw me. So I had to go home and change my clothes! When I came back the cook came out to let me know he saw!!! Gosh what an embarrassing morning! Chris (had two HC's today! )

Chris, it looks like you are going to have to carry a change of clothes in your car......lately you could have used them at least a couple of times. You need to fire up your "broomvan" and pick up Sara and me and head over to Marlene's before she stops cooking......she has been putting out some fine meals. Those guys working on her house never had it so good.
Marlene, I am sorry you are having to wear that boot....it is not a fun thing to have to do but necessary. Several years ago my GS had a foot issue and resisted wearing the boot as directed and his outcome was not as good as it could have been.
Helen, your dinner sounds delightful......I am so sorry you are having such difficulty getting your husband to and from appointments. I have been there. I once fell into a firebush trying to keep my husband from falling. Is there any kind of public transportation that will put them in a wheel chair and transport them....here we have an organization called Silver Key that provides that service.
To everyone else, have a great evening and be safe where ever you are. Cheers, Doris

Oh my goodness Chris! I think that calls for an extra HC.
A kind-of busy day today. I had a dr. appointment this morning for persistent neck and upper back pain I've been having for the past month. The good news is, it's not a disc problem or anything like that. The bad news is, it's stress. The dr. said "your back is so tight you could pound nails with it!" So I have some pain meds, some muscle relaxer, and a prescription for a deep tissue massage if it doesn't improve. That sounds a little scary to me so I'm hoping the other stuff will work.
A local ice cream place was doing a fund-raiser today for a charity that provides help for the homeless. So after work I stopped and picked up root-beer floats for DH and me -- it's for a good cause, right? And sometimes you just need to have dessert first. :-)
Dinner was chicken tenders and fresh grapes. Very very easy. Jan, I haven't been doing much cooking lately and I miss my leftovers! That's usually what I pack for my weekday lunches, so if I don't cook dinner, than I have to come up with something for lunch.

Oh my, Chris! What a day! Were your HC's laced with anything stronger? Seems like today might have been the day for that! LOL Funny but not really.
Helen, so sorry to hear about your difficulty getting your hubby to his appointments. As Doris suggested, a service like that would be so helpful. Look after yourself as well.
You're right, Doris! A meal at Marlene's would be worth the trip. She does make excellent meals for the fellows working on her renos. They may have a rude awakening at their next project & no meals forthcoming! 😊

Bright sun, blue sky, no wind and a lot of heat and humidity for the next few days. By Sunday they're predicting temps in the 70's and much drier air which will be a nice break. Nothing special today. I'd like to dig out some weeds from the small flower patch but the never ending sun keeps drying out the ground and they just break off. Not to mention, the flowers are attracting assorted bees and wasps and hornets and I prefer to keep my hands away from them.
Husband is out this evening so it was just a sandwich and some very good melon for supper.

You are welcome to come to the dinner table ladies!!! Wouldn't that be fun. The guys tell me I am on the top of their list. Their next job is making a very small church into a bigger one. They inherited money so are upgrading big time and not many members there either. That will be their winter job. So no cook there ! I opened the front door today as they are putting the steps with rock and said anytime you want dinner come in and son Jason came in then went outside to come around the back way. They started before 7 this morning. Chuck will not be here tomorrow so Jason and I will have a small meatloaf I had ready in freezer, baked small red potatoes cut in half in butter, Have some cucumbers left and some summer squash and zucchini casserole left so dinner will be easy. I am trying to clean with this bad foot and sure sit and rest it a lot. Maybe I will get it done??!!! Marlene
