Melissa, yes I can see the profile of a face on that rock; from what I have read the trail passes the Pipestone Creek, up a stone staircase, and past the Leaping Rock that Native American teens would jump across to prove their bravery, also called Old Stone Face for its face-like shape.
Pipestone National Monument is an interesting place and you have some lovely photos from there. Wow 95° was really hot to be walking out thru the rocky prairie.
I just love reading about places everyone visits, Thank you for sharing.

I had to look up the name of the face rock. Its called the Oracle. Yes Mary, there is another rock they would jump off and it also looks like a face. I have a pic of that with ds "touching" the nose (not really but looks like it). I'll have to upload that for tomorrow.

Marnee... Nice picture of the hummer. I see you got a really pretty watch and now you can see hummers anytime.
Ili... Those are some beauties. Of course I do tend to be attracted to red or even orange flowers.
Marnee... Thats a pretty flower bed. I have saw those latris before but not sure if I would have known the name without others on here telling us first.
Angela... Now thats a gorgeous sunset. Seems lakes and oceans makes for some great sunset scenes.
Donna... Your phlox is just plain beautiful. You must have found a perfect spot for them.
Charlene... Great pictures of the monarchs. I always love seeing those beauties. Those are also some really pretty and interesting seed pods.
Melissa... Nice pictures of the monument. Love seeing pictures of places like that. Yes I can see the mans face in the stone. That water falls looks so inviting on a hot day.
Lair... That geranium is beautiful. I know exactly what you mean about hating to cut off such beautiful blooms.
Marg... Glad you liked the moonflower story. I was really amazed that it did live and then bloom this quickly.
Posy... Good to see you here and thanks for helping Marnee and people like me in identifying her flower.
Abey... Your coreopsis are some beauties. Those bright yellow flowers will make us think of sun this winter.
Gayle... Your rain lily is a really pretty flower. Maybe you need to educate it that its supposed to bloom when it rains lol.
Thanks everyone for todays great pictures and comments.
