Good morning.
It is a beautiful morning. The days have still been hot but at least the nights and early mornings have cooled down. Mid 90s on Thursday and then we get a wonderful cool down where Friday will be 75 and Saturday 70, yay!!
Tonight after work I need to spray again the yard with Malthion or something like that because the gnats had attacked me again this last weekend. It worked pretty good for almost 3 weeks last time I sprayed.
Need to get in and start working.

Good Morning all...it is another 100 degree day here so not much will get done outside again. The temps are bad enough but the humidity is horrible.I am beginning to think I will never get outside to do anything but what absolutely has to be done. I feel like I am in "house arrest" and I don't like it. I went out and checked the pool, found a dead sparrow in the skimmer so had to get that out, put some extra chlorine in. I can't use the pool until late evening, just can't take that hot sun. Other than that things in my world are good.

Good morning. 59 and very foggy at the moment. WE are to have T storms today. Yesterday I didn't do much be go to work. It was a crazy day there yesterday. Not busy in the restaurant but there was so much to restock after the weekend I spent most of the day carrying from the walkin to the coolers and work stations in the kitchen. Today will be busy for me starting all the prep work for the weekend. So will be chopping and slicing like crazy I am sure.
Have laundry going this morning. Trying to get the bedding done up from next door so it is ready when the guests leave Saturday. There is no rush since I don't have anyone coming in until mid September. Need to empty and reload the dishwasher. Still have dishes from Sunday left to do. Just wasn't in the mood for doing dishes last night.
I did get to bed early last night for the first time since I started putting this board together and boy it felt good. Intentions were to watch a little of the Olympics but fell asleep before the diving and gymnastics came on and that was what I really wanted to see.
Best get moving. Want to read a couple of more boards and get things done here before work.
Have a great day.

Good morning. 59 going to 79. Our high on Saturday is 64. Definitely will feel like fall!
Since I didn't know it was national take it easy day yesterday I worked like a madwoman!! Paying the price for going on vacation! I have tomatoes in the freezer from last year and a garden full of tomatoes so I finally got motivated to make spaghetti sauce. I roasted it all in the oven which seemed easier than trying to babysit the pot on the stove top. I froze 9 quarts of sauce and it tasted really good. I have enough tomatoes in the freezer to make a whole lot more. I couldn't believe how many were out there from last year. I feel like I should just do it today again and get it over with, tho I'm not sure I'm up to another day in the kitchen! I also picked and snapped and canned 7 quarts of beans, made cucumber salad for supper, and made 5 pints of grape jelly from frozen juice that needed to be used up before we have more. I have a 2nd batch of that to make today. I think I need to find something else to make with the grape juice but we never have enough to make too much. The kids don't love the grape jelly tho I swear it's b/c its greenish and not fake purple!
Dh is off and wants to go cut more wood at our buddys. He went Sunday night and got a whole trailer full of birch that he split last night. We'll probably end up with a years worth of wood by the time we're done over there. The number of trees that town lost in that storm is unreal.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning, it is 78º already here. Back from my daily walk of 2 miles with friends. I pick up a lady that is 84 years old every morning. She doesn't miss a step. Yesterday I got stitches out of my toe that was removed 3 weeks ago. Everything is doing great. Had a real bad hammertoe removed-no more pain. We still need rain bad. May get some this afternoon. Today meeting a friend for lunch at Old Time Pottery. Can always find something I really need there. haha... Have a great & safe day. Happy Gardening, nanatnzone6

Good morning everyone. Another very pleasant morning. I love sleeping when the temps are in the lower 60s. This weekend they will be in the 50s. The weather dude says that we've got September temps heading our way.
Next week our school will be starting. I was surprised when Gkids said that theirs started yesterday. The kids don't get much of a summer vacation any more, but it seems they get many inservice days here and longer breaks at Christmas and Easter. I guess it all balances out and now all of the schools here have AC, so they don't suffer from heat going back this early.
I take many houseplants outside in the summer months and they seem to do well. Today I am going to take cuttings and start new ones. Many are too big to bring indoors this winter. That also eliminates bringing bugs into the house. Last year there were 2 toads in my greenhouse that came inside in pots. Sure don't want them in our house.
Reading what all Melissa did yesterday makes me a bit embarrassed that I didn't do anything...oh well...I will try to make up for it today.
If any of you didn't read the chit chat, Lily stopped by to visit me last night. I think I will see quite a bit of her in the next couple of weeks since she is staying with her son and that is only 3 miles from here. She was happy to take some tomatoes and I was happy to get rid of them.
I need to send a text to our grandson turning 16 today...16 on the 16th of '16. This is the GS that was Asperger syndrome Autism. He is officially off the roles now and labeled normal and he is a "very" social boy....PTL! He gets his drivers license today as well.
Hope you all have a good day. Charlene

Good morning everybody. We had a little TS come through after midnight. Nothing major but we did get some rain, although not enough And it did cool this morning down some. Only 76º at 9 this morning.
I'm on my way outta here for work in just a few minutes, so stopping by while I have a chance.
School here still starts the day after Labor Day, same as it did when we were kids. But I remember sitting in those hot classrooms even then with AC unheard of.
I think the GKs go back next week. They've certainly enjoyed their summer. A wedding in Mexico, a trip to Richmond, a week here, a campfire reunion on the beach & a week in Ocean City. And that's only the ones I know about. LOL
Nice to see Molly posting with us again. Hi, Molly.

We finally got enough votes to start school the day after Labor Day. Many people are complaining about it but I remember when my kids were home having to pull them out of school or they would miss the first couple of days because we always took our last vacation of the year over Labor Day weekend.

Good morning. It's overcast here to start the day, but the sun is at least trying to come out. DH is complaining about the humidity outside, but then again, he always complains about that. I ended up opening the windows yesterday while he was gone, and I was quite comfortable that way. I did relent and let him close things up and turn on the air last night. I thought we'd both sleep better that way. Whatever is going on with the humidity, we are at least 10 degrees cooler than we were this time last week. I'm not going to complain. We got rain overnight so I am not going to water again today. I could almost get used to that! ;)
No time to comment on everything this morning. DM is coming shortly and I am still in my PJs. I also want to go out in the garage and see about a different hummer feeder to put out in the rose bed. I've had it with the one that is there now. I cannot keep the bugs out of it because it sits in the windowsill, and I'm just done with it. I'll never buy another feeder that I cannot hang on its own. I am pretty sure I have a small shepherd's hook in the garage and I know I have a hanging feeder that I used to use out in the garden. I'm hoping to find my ant moat so I don't end up in the same place with more freakin' ants. If I don't find the moat, I am still putting out the new feeder. If nothing else, it will confuse the ants and it will take them longer to figure things out. LOL!
Wish you all a tremendous Tuesday!

Happy morning all. Another 100 deg. day forecasted for today. A slight breeze now , but very humid yet. We may get another storm this aft.
Will try to get some things done here in the house today. There is always sorting and getting ready for a Purple Heart Charity pick-up on the 29th. Missed them last month, so I want to have a good amount this month. Between them, Lupus and a couple of others, there is generally some charity picking up every week. I just have to notify them how much I have.
Spoke to DS2 for over an hour this morning..he was more chatty than usual.
I feel like such a slacker when I read how much everyone accomplishes in a day. I used to be able to do that too, but not anymore. Have a great day all.
