Good afternoon.
We are sunny & hot @ 92*
I've done a few things this morning & think I will lay low until this evening when I may cut the back yard.
I deadheaded stuff this morning, & cut back dead (done blooming) flower stalks., pulling a few weeds as I went. Also pulled some BES. I like them but they tend to take over. Also sprayed what needed spraying & I ended up cutting my big Clematis back to the ground. I tried cutting dead stuff out of it a couple weeks ago but didn't help so we'll start over. Also took Chelsea for a walk & by that time it was getting pretty warm in the sun.
Every time I go by my bed that has Japanese Iris in it I just mentally shake my head. Hardly anything bloomed in it last yr & doesn't look much better this yr. Come Fall, I'll think I'll pull everything that has stopped blooming & re-locate what is & then just get rid of the bed. It's been declining for a few years now. I'm hoping at least some of the J. Iris bloom. Balsam re-seeds in there every yr but I can live w/o that.
I can move my heated birdbath from there to where the fountain is in the new container bed. That gets put away for the Winter leaving a cord already in place to plug into. No need to run another cord if I do that.
I might plant a dwarf dogwood tree in place of the bed. But I'll probably change my mind a half dozen times between then & now.
My 1st Lily is blooming today.
I've been paying bills, working on the budget & doing "paper" work on the computer. I need to vacuum & at least run a damp mop over the floors. Then I might go sit in my GH room & read for a while.
Karen, nice the meetings are right across the street.
Bet I wouldn't interrupt my plans for the day for 1-1/2 hr of work either. If you do decide to go, are there some errands you can run while you're out?
Leslie, after all the rain & now none in sight anytime soon, I'll probably be watering at some point too. This is the time of year when I am in between blooms for a couple of weeks. Iris are done, roses are just starting, lilies are almost ready to pop, but only a few Daylilies have buds. Also the time of year when I get impatient because I think everything should be in bloom.
I never turn the TV on in daytime & I never watch the news anyway. But but my AOL has headline news & I get most of mine from there. I hate to even see that these days.
Well, I guess I better get my butt in motion & do something.
I'll check back later.

Just a hello and a wave. Cleaning and working on pics today. Did get all the annuals done yesterday. Have concessions at 2. Bad timing with preparing for graduation but a short day today and only 1 game unless the one tam pulls off a major upset then they will have to play each other again. Fingers crossed its one and done. I was still vacuuming and dusting when dh came home after 10. He jokingly asked if I was on crystal meth! Lol! Just a diet dr pepper! š I had energy so figured Iād keep on working. Need to get back to work. A couple more days of madness then I can relax.

Melissa, it seems when you have plenty to do that is when the extra work for something else is in demand also. Good luck that there is only one game today.
Marlene, your happy place and mine are the same. I always say a day with out cooking is a like a day without sunshine. You should visit Cooks Crock. This week it seems the main topic is the mini potato recipes and cucumbers. We are always looking for new recipes to share.

Good afternoon.
Made a trip to my youngest son's house to drop off some things. We chatted a bit and then needed to get home because we are to have bad weather this afternoon/evening. As I started out toward his place I could see dark clouds. They passed over without us getting anything but the warning is out until 9 PM. Appears to be getting dark again so we shall see.
Have a good day all

Good evening. I am beat but the day isn't over. I finally got outside I guess a little after 10. Got the kitchen garden weeded, spread manure and fertilizer in there and tilled it. It is ready to plant on Sunday. I have decided to work tomorrow as Sunday is the better of the 2 days to work outside and all of my work for the week has to be done by Sunday. Only 1 1/2 hours that has be be done but there is another 1 1/2 hours in the same store it all goes well I will do that also even though it can wait until sometime next week. I have to work Friday night so would like to be on the road by 8 so can do all 3 hours if I don't run into problems. Next week I have something like 8 hours of work so with the traveling I will take 2 days.
I won't eat dinner until after the 7 PM meeting so have the oven timer set to remind me to get dinner in the oven on time.
No more sleeping in. When I wake up get up. I have gotten so much more done today by getting us I think around 4:30 when I woke up. My mind is so much clearer. So I collapse in bed soon after I eat but with a feeling of accomplishment.
Enjoy your evening.

I ran the vacuum & mopped the floors as planned. But didn't get the back yard cut. That can wait until morning.
I sat out on the patio, "lounging" & reading for a while. Had the floor fan going & even took a little nap.
When I came in I cut & shampooed my hair & now trying to decide what I want for supper.
DB#1 called me & told me that he & his GF might be going out of town for a few days & she might need somebody to feed her cats, maybe. So, I might be cat sitting this weekend maybe. So why didn't you call me once you made up your minds. LOL Now I have to keep the phone handy until you do. Oh, well.
Hope everybody had a good day.
