Kluski z Kwaśna Kapusta (Polish Noodles and Sauerkraut)-auntcon

Ingredients
1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks) 1 large onion (coarsely chopped) 32 oz. sauerkraut (drained; rinsed or unrinsed, as desired) 1 lb. noodles (kluski-style, cooked and drained) 14 oz. can of mushrooms (stems and pieces, undrained) (I added a can of cream of Mushroom soup too as well as some caraway seeds)
Directions Preheat oven to 350° 1. Cook onions in butter over medium low heat until translucent. 2. Drain and rinse the kraut and add that to the onion mixture and cook for an additional 15 minutes, stirring frequently. (This is where I added the caraway seeds). 3. Boil noodles according to the package instructions. Drain them. 4. In a large pan or bowl add the butter, onion and kraut mixture to the bowl. Add in the mushrooms and the noodles. (I added the mushroom soup also). Add any seasoning you desire as well. I added salt and pepper. 5. Put in a suitable sized casserole dish or pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. (I used a 9 x 13 corning ware dish) 6. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until the top starts to brown. Serve hot.
