Granola-Tasty 14 c oats 1 c brown sugar 6oz oil 6oz honey 375 g apricots/raisins/cranberries/dates 200 g almonds – slivered 100g coconut 2 tsp cinnamon 1 1/2 tsp salt Put the oats into a large bowl. Heat the sugar, oil, honey, cinnamon and salt until the sugar is dissolved. Sometimes I will add vanilla essence, not always Pour the sugar mix over the oats and mix well. Transfer this mixture into a couple of baking pans. Into a 350 oven for about 15 minutes, take out and stir. Repeat this a couple of times (about 40 - 45 minutes in the oven). Allow to cool before adding he fruits, almonds and coconut. This is a very forgiving recipe. When I make it for home I will often have a mix of fruits in it, depending what's in the pantry - apricots and dates I cut with kitchen scissors, easier than using a knife. Sugar and honey can be cut down a bit, different spices depending what you like etc.
