Ain't Your Mama's Slaw-cooktocook
Prep:15 mins, Servings:12 servings, 2/3 cup each
Ingredients: 1 pkg. (12oz.) broccoli slaw (I substituted 1 pkg., 14 oz., cabbage slaw mix 1 cup red pepper strips ( was short on the pepper pepper so I also used yellow and orange pepper) 1 cup fresh pineapple 1/3 cup dried cranberries 1/4 cup red onions 1/3 cup Italian dressing (I used Good Seasons) 1 tsp. brown sugar 1/3 cup sliced almonds
Directions: 1--Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl. 2--Mix dressing and sugar. Add to salad--toss to coat. 3--Refrigerate 1 hour. Add nuts; mix lightly.
Made this recently on our vacation. Very colorful. I was surprised the family liked it as it's not the type of creamy slaw I normally made. DD said it was lighter and she liked the various textures. DH said it is a keeper.
