Hornung Stew (5 Hour Oven Stew)-cooktocook Makes 8 servings. Ingredients: 2lbs. beef stew meat, cut into smaller pieces 4-5 potatoes, sliced or diced 6 carrots, sliced 1 cup celery, chopped 1 small can of peas, drained 1 large can of tomatoes 4 onions, chopped (I use either 1 large or 2 small, not 4) 1 slice of bread, cubed 4 Tbsp. minute tapioca 1 tsp. sugar Salt and pepper to taste
Directions: 1--Combine all ingredients in a large casserole dish. 2--Cover with foil and bake at 250* for 5 hours, stirring each hour.
