Hasty Tasty Stew-cooktocook
*This is not a T&T recipe, but wanted to add it to the list of oven stews. Lori
Ingredients:
1 onion, coarsely chopped
1 cup celery, cut in 1-inch pieces
1 package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
2 103/4-ounce cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 pounds beef or lamb stew meat, cubed
Potatoes, quartered
Carrots, sliced
Onions, quartered
Green Beans, cut into pieces
Directions:
1--Combine first six ingredients in a large casserole.
2--Cover and bake at 300* for 2 1/2 hours. Add your choice of fresh vegetables to the casserole.
3--Bake an additional 30 minutes or until meat and vegetables are tender. *I personally would put the vegetables in after baking just 1 hours, cover back up and continue baking 1 1/2 hours. At that point I'd remove the foil, stir and check to see if tender.*
