Good Sunday Morning!! Its a very foggy morning can't see to the end of the driveway. Its 68* going to a high of 84*. No big plans for this day, maybe just do nothing. But that seems like what I have been doing for the last 6 days. But I did stay busy yesterday, the cat was in the house, so I took the shovel and went out by the road and cleaned out one of my flower beds, but it was just too humid. Came back in and cool down and back out I went. So I got 2 beds pretty much cleaned out. I tell you that heat makes the crab grass grow so fast. Did some dusting in the house, and last night we burned off a stick pile and added to it that's been bugging me for some time. Ray and Justin went and picked up a load of wood for Ray to build birdhouses with, but trust me he didn't need it. That's how we came about to burn the pile of branches. The shed is full of wood so he had to re arrange it. I wasn't going to go out, but of course I did. I also chased the chicken out of the yard again, this time was too close to one of my flower beds, I do think the guy is gone and just leaves the chicken to run loose. He is down to 4.
GKids, Did you have a good mostly "me" day. I so enjoy them.
Leroy, Good news on the raise.
Lair, I don't think the humidity is going to stay down, I see the 10 day forecast and has humid on lots of days.
Angela, That is just great to have outings with the girls. I get with my girls more in the cold months, as they are so busy in the warmer months.
Jan, I do hope you are feeling better this morning. How many steers do you have now?
Snow, Ya we didn't get much rain, not like some places, but more then you. I understand why you can't get motivated you work in the heat all day. Nasty about the puppy, I so remember those days.
Mary, Sounds like the B.G. was a great place.
Well I need to get more coffee and feed the cat and see what else I can do, maybe open some windows, but its still so humid outside. Have a great day.

Good morning Carol and All, Valerie and Kara just left to go walking. We'll go to church later. DD found out that all the car places are closed. I said, "Good, then the salesmen won't be out there bugging you." I need to find new tennis shoes if I'm going to be walking all day tomorrow at the state fair. We'll need to hit the mall.
The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden was an amazing place. They had one section that was 3 rows deep and probably 50 feet long of all different colors of coleus; they had so many more gardens and water features outside. I really can't describe it all. If you highlight the name and Google this place you can find videos. I've been waiting for a chance to go there since it reopened last year. It looks about like everyone else's flower beds at this time of year. Inside the dome is the tropical area. We were in there when the mister kicked in, 90° with 57% humidity is what their meter said. There was a waterfall with koi fish in the pond below. There was a huge waterfalls outside, and smaller waterfalls along the sides of the pond. There was a wedding reception about to take place as we were leaving at closing time. I saw so many plants that I have never seen before! Maybe next July I'll go back. When I get home again I'll post the few pictures I took. I took one of a little tree with the most amazing smelling flowers. I don't think it was a magnolia because the flowers were yellow.
Well I gotta get dressed; talk to ya later.

Good morning folks, I hope everyone has a nice sunday. Friday,my daughter and I went down to Fort Wayne for my sister in law's visitation. About a three hour drive. we stayed three hours. Had not seen any of that side of my family since Larry's funeral almost three years ago. Afterwards we drove out to her home just one more time. Just the two of us. Then to the cemetery to my brother's grave. Stopped at Arby's on way home and drove home in almost constant downpour. Had to pull into a safe place whenever we could find one. We were gone exactly 12 hours. Home at 11:20. Her funeral was yesterday morning at St. Henry's Catholic Church. Patti was alovely and wonderful person and I would post a beautiful picture of her if I could post pictures. Photobucket that I always used in the past has not cooperated with me for a couple of years now.Maybe I should move on to another picture hosting site. Any suggestions? I loved posting pictures.
I spent yesterday doing nothing at all. so today I am rested up and ready to get back to work on my garage sale. I don't know yet when I will have it but I can keep plugging away at it.But first...I want to read the morning paper.
I will check back in later to see what all you have posted. Mary

Good Morning everyone, It is 67* and sunny without a sign of a breeze this morning. I got my spraying done yesterday but got sucked in to watching a couple movies. first time in a while I haev enjoyed a movie. This last week I tried to watch the movie "The Boss" which is supposed to be a comedy but there were so may F bombs and disgusting things I had to turn it off. Not sure what I am doing today. Right now I am having trouble keeping a positive attitude so I am going to do something about that and be back. Until then you all have a good day. Later Lair

Morning. Right now it is 77 with expected high of 83, not sure about the humidity though. It does feel very humid out there already so probably another one of those days. I did have a wonderful "me" day yesterday. Pretty much did nothing or whatever I felt like at the moment. Just got a call from dil and she's picking me up in a couple hours and we're on our way to Janesville, the skiers from here are competing in a competition up there this afternoon, ds and gkids are already up there. I think I told everyone before, ds is a dock supervisor, helps skiers get ready to take off and makes sure all the lines are untangled and dgs skies in the show. So guess I'm going to get another "me" day again today. Certainly won't complain about that one. Hubby wants to mow the lawn when the "dew" has dried up some which probably won't be til this afternoon so he's going to stay home and "work"..LOL Gave the tiger lilies fresh water yesterday and they're still alive so guess they'll be ok for awhile. I think it's supposed to cool off into the upper 70's next week. They're on the top of my "to do" list...which I really don't have one. Have a great Sunday everyone.

Morning all! Seems like I will need to get my schedule in order here! By the time I've read every post the morning is almost over! 😊 We are a prolific bunch, that is for sure. So, the order of the day will be to read the threads I want to respond to & do it immediately.
Thought I had plans for the day but things changed this morning. Originally, my niece was coming out to see her Dad & was going to come by to give me my first massage. She is a massage therapist & I had been enquiring about the benefits for my neck/shoulders issues. So, she offered to be the one to give me my first. However, she had a terrible night & postponed driving out (2+ hours). She has been very ill for some months & just now getting back on her feet. Meanwhile, I had backed out of going to a regional park with my girls for a lunch outing. By the time I knew my niece wasn't coming I could have gotten going with the kids but the motivation wasn't there.
So, today's plans are for watering, cleaning out my fridge of misc. bags of produce given to me by various kind neighbours. Kind of have lost track of what's in the crispers. Maybe a zucchini cake will come about. My gdaughter Kelsey loves those cakes & I could surprise her. Of course, that's still to be determined! LOL All depends on what the forums have to offer this afternoon! 😊
See you all later, my mid-Western friends.

Good morning all--it is still morning but just barely I see. I can't believe it--for a chane TV is mine & I am enjoying it. I like music & my favorite is country so I listen to Sirius XM's Willie's roadhouse. It is a lot of the older country like Bob Wills, Ernest Tubb even on occasion a Jimmie Rodgers song. Needless to say I could listen all day & that was what I did before Allen was off.
Nothing planned for today. Allen has been outside most of the morning--yahoo. He is hoping to cut 2nd crop hay this week. That will get him out of the house at least. Our week will be less busy as no treatment this week. I still have Carlen to deliver around everyday.
There was a deer just walked thru the back yard. Man was it thin--I could see her ribs--was waiting for a fawn to follow but nothing. So don't know if it was still down in the timber or if something else.
Carol -- after the 4 big one are gone there will be 20 some left for sale after the first of the year.
Lair -- one movie that I would like to see is Nine Lives. the previews on TV look funny. You might enjoy it too. It is just released a could of weeks ago.
Well my pleasant TV listening has just ended. At least The Walking Dead is one thing he don't watch. Right now he is doing the cannel surf --which drives me bonkers!
You all have a good weekend & take care
Jan
