I have spurts where I like to cook and days when I hate it. Me too! When I have time to cook ahead, I like to do that. But sometimes I just don't want to fool with it. Fortunately, DH likes to eat out and is usually okay with having a ham sandwich or bacon & eggs for dinner. :) Tonight we went out for pizza. Tomorrow he will be grilling burgers & hot dogs for dinner, since his sister & DBIL are spending the night with us. (Their son is a student at Clemson and they are coming up to get him moved into an apartment.) Ann, I have some of the Cape Cod smoked gouda chips and plan to try them out tomorrow night!

Good Saturday morning! I missed this thread yesterday; I did check several times, though. Last night I made a spaghetti squash "pasta" salad. Mixed the strands with lots of diced veggies and made a "dressing" of salsa, vegetable oil, garlic, and lime juice & peel. We had it with grilled chorizo. Lori - Your dinner sounds great. Did you ever try making that homemade sauerkraut? I'm not sure I mentioned this on TOH, but last week I bought some green tomatoes to make piccalilli. Instead of cooking it down into a soft relish, I decide to keep it raw in the pickling juice. It came out very delicious...nice and crunchy. You could substitute Kirby cucumbers for the green tomatoes. Let me know if you'd like the recipe. It's from a PBS show that used to be on many years ago set in a garden just outside of Boston called "The Victory Garden". I used photobucket to post the image; my goodness it's large! I'll post more on today's thread later on. Waving to all!

LOOKS LIKE CUCS & ONIONS, SLICED TOMATOES, MICRO-GRILLED PORCK CHOPS, SMALL BAKED POTATO FROM THE GARDEN & SMALL SIDE SALAD MOSTLY FROM GARDEN PRODUCE. ALSO I FOUND SAVORY BREAD PUDDING IN THE FREEZER SO THAT CANA BE RE-HEATED TO GO WITH THE MEAL. I ALSO DISCOVERED A FEW SQS OF ORNAGE BLUBERRY CAKE IN THE FREEZER . SO, LOOKS LIKE THIS MEAL IS COVERED FOR TODAY. THAT SPGTY. SQSH SALAD LOOKS DE-LISH! I HAVE ONE IN THE PANTRY SO MAYBE I CAN GIVE THAT A TRY AS WELL.

LOOKS LIKE LEFTOVER CHINESE TODAY, SOME FRESH WATERMELON & CANTELOUPE. I'LL WORK IN SOME SALMON FILLETS & LARGE SALAD FOR LATER THIS EVENING. I THINK I HAVE I PIECE OF ORANGE BLUEBERRY CAKE THAWED SO I'LL ADD A DAB OF COOL WHIP & BEEN DONE WITH IT. STILL GETTING A FEW TOMS FROM THE GRDEN & INTEND TO DIG THE REMAINING LEEKS TODAY. THERE'S NOT VERY MANY SO IT WON'T TAKE LONG TO CLEAN & SLICE UP FOR THE FREEZER TO USE THIS WINTER IN GOOD SOUPS & CHOWDERS ETC. STILL TRYING TO KEEP PULLING ODDS & ENDS FORM THE SIDE FREEZER BUT NEVER SEEM TO REACH THE LAST OF IT...GUESS IT WOULD HELP IF I'D QUIT ADDING TO IT !
