Good morning all 30degrees out and we had a light dusting of snow overnight but more headed here this afternoon and evening, they say 1-3 so we will see. The birds have been crazy at the feeder again. Hopefully it drys enough and I can get my cold crops in the cabbage, broccoli and kolorabi are ready to go.
Carol they said the internet systems of some crashed crashed because of all the simultaneous check going into bank accounts especially bank internet’s. Have fun shopping for your new phone!
Lair we tied records for the 3 nights before but I didn’t hear any records set here. I know the the birds have sure been pigs though I fill 12 feeders each day but when I counted over 100 finches at the feeders up front just at a time and I have 6 feeders only up front that’s a lot of mouths eating at once then there are also wood peckers, northern flickers, nuthatch, blue jays , cardinals and even robins of course there are a few sparrow they don’t like the type of food I put out which is good cause there is plenty of food in the cattle yard for them. Lair yes I would love to visit this year we will hav etc see how the disease pans out here I sure don’t want to bring anything.
Charlene mine hydrangea seedling is a new type of oak leaf with pinkish flowers the leaves in the fall are a deep purple and gorgeous. I should of took some winter pictures of it. I love yours though it is a nice pink color.
Alice how is Rosie doing? I bet she is growing some yet! What type of bread are you making. There is no shortage of yeast or flour here but in the big cities there is. Have you been affected by this.
Leroy how are you feeling pretty good. I a, just going to start my marigolds and zinnias and stuff this weekend for going out I never put them out till Memorial Day so I should be good.
mary sounds like a plan on the ripping out in of the yarn for the blanket. Have you tried ordering yarn on the internet that what my sister did. I am a bacon girl also. We grind and make our own sausage out of roast so it is not greasy and we can season it how we like and I am very lucky we have our own chickens for eggs.
Carolyn our trees haven’t even started to bud yet to cold but maybe next week they say in the 60 and 70’s we will see

connie good for you making mask for people. I hope your husband good deed was for a good cause and not for someone’s drugs you never know nowadays.

Good Morning!! A some what sunny morning, its 28* going to a high of 41*, didn't see any snow in the forecast for today. We had enough yesterday. Sure don't know where the days have been going, sure don't seem to get much done. Guess its because I been on the computer too much. Still looking for a new phone, wish one of the kids could help me. Will try to get 4 drawers done today and then start on the bottom cabinets, they won't take too long. Still haven't done much in the sunporch. Today I'm going to make a shopping list, don't need a lot, but also don't want to get too low on things. Ray needs some cereal, and oatmeal, plus eggs. Not sure what else. I have a turkey in the freezer going to take out for dinner on Sunday, that way we will have something for sandwiches.
Snow, How are all the DGK doing? Much better I hope. My birds have slowed way down, I think its because I have so many squirrels coming and going, I do try to keep them away.
Lair, Not much of anything going on here either. The cold weather can go anytime.
Leroy, Hiding away is just what we all been doing. Not fun either. I don't see many flowers here this year also.
Mary, I too am a bacon eater, Ray likes sausage and we usually get it from Brian, he makes it, he does a good job. We are eating cheap bread guess I will have to have the kids pick me up some yeast.
Carolyn, Im sure your little ride lifted your spirit, looking at trees in bloom. Nothing yet here. The cold came your way also. Sorry.
Alice, Good Morning
Sandy, The cold has been bad enough, but the wind has been nasty. Outside work has been put on hold here, maybe come this weekend, but you will be working.
Connie, I heard the same thing, no matter what a person dies of, if he was in a hospital, it all goes down under covid-19. We will never get the right numbers. Sure hope that gal wasn't a scammer. I could never do that.
MaryMI, How are you doing?
Guess I need some coffee and a piece of banana bread, I made it yesterday and I do have to say its good. Put the cake in the freezer and made banana bread, cookies will be next, no wonder I gained a few pounds. Michigan made the news channels, big rally in Lansing, wish I could of been there. Have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning ALL: I have been up for awhile. Had breakfast and got the predicted temps: 32°, 42° & 48°. The sun is out,(kinda/sorta) yippee!! But it was frosty this morning. Have had a bowl of raisin bran. Need to make a cuppa coffee (I have a Keurig coffee maker). I didn't get that loaf of bread made. Have enough for lunch so I will make a loaf sometime today (just lazy yesterday). It is a regular 1 1/2 pound of white bread in the bread machine. I pretty much only make a regular white loaf. Occasionally I make dough for rolls/buns in the bread machine (but not for just "me")! I hope Rosie is as big as she is going to get. I haven't weighed her in awhile but she weighed 12 lbs last time she was weighed. She might be closer to 15 lbs (just guessing as she is kinda heavy to pick up). When this virus goes away (hopefully) I need to get her 1 year checkup. She is too smart for her own good. She doesn't miss much. If I put something away she remembers where I put it so I try to not let her know where I put it. That was almost a tongue twister. Hope ALL has a Good Day!! CUL

Good Morning, we have bright sunshine, even with the record setting cold it looks pleasant. I am anxious to get out and do some things in the yard. This weather does not do much for energy. Oh wall, that will come sooner or later. I got mu stimulus check on Monday but have not to get into the bank computer since. They think they should have it back and running by today. I have paid some bills but I am not sending them out until I can see mu checking account. I have been thinking about all of you, sure hope it is not to hard on any of you. I am getting a little lonely but nothing I can't handle. Of course I don't have the family and grands which I am sure that would make it harder. I am talking to my new fried here in town and Dale a couple times a week. Dale still has not been able to apply for unemployment.(3 weeks) I did make him feel a little better yesterday. Someone had told him he would not get a stimulus check until he had filed income tax for this year. He doesn't know anyone to prepare his taxes so that is another problem. I talked him through TurboTax.com on line so he is going to try that. Well, I need to get my day moving. I hope you are all doing well and making the best of what has been dealt to each of you. Have a great day filled with optimism.

Good Morning All! I made us both a big bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. I combined hubby and my dark clothes into one big load for the wash machine; they're now in the dryer. I ran the sweeper over the kitchen and laundry room floors and emptied and took the cat litter out to the dumpster before the garbage man got her. I did manage to get all the vacuuming done both upstairs and down yesterday. I now need to find my dust rags.
I filled the sunflower chip feeder so the little birds have something to eat. I filled the 2 safflower feeders yesterday. I think the grackles have figured out that there isn't much to eat around here. I hung extra weight (S hooks with big washers) on the perches of the squirrel proof feeders with the BOSS in them. Now when they try to hang to eat their weight closed the ports. I know they will eat safflower if they're desperate so they must not be desperate. I've only seen a few the last few days, not the constant 6-10 that I had.
I've been watching the one squirrel for at least a week now and seriously debating if I need to kill it. I'm gonna give it another week and if it's worse I'll shoot it with my BB gun. It's lost so much fur on the top of its shoulders and neck that it more pink skin than fur. I also has a huge abscess on its left cheek and yesterday I saw the right eye has white crud in it also. I thought it was moving kind of weird yesterday when it was walking on the ground. It was like a stagger to the side but he ran away just fine when I chased it this morning. I don't want to do this but if I have to put it out of its misery to be humane I will.
Snow, I had to laugh at that baby belly. Little Hudson is the same way. Bryan said he's 25 lbs.
Lair, They extended the tax deadline out to July 15, so Dale doesn't need to panic. He did taxes last year so he's still okay. If he paid in they'll just go off last years records, so still not a problem. He's just further down on the list.
Well, I'm gonna go find something to do.

Good Morning,
Snow, that's a beautiful rose. We are freezing here, but at least it's not snowing.
Carol, the new phone thing can be tough. I was in the process of trying to pick out a new one when Son got tired of answering my questions and decided to just send me one in the mail.
Connie, I'm still smiling about you thinking Joe would make somebody a good husband. He's a confirmed bachelor, for sure. He had a heart of gold but comes by every day looking like he slept under a bridge, and drives a truck that is older than me, and that's the way he likes it!
Lair, I thought that if you hadn't filed your tax return they were going to use the one from 2018.
Nothing going on here so will check later.

Good morning in the afternoon. I was up earlier than usual for me. DH said we were to have snow and it is looking overcast but no white stuff as yet. We need both kinds of coffee, and OTC for me and some gas for the van so I will head to Costco soon and hope the line is not long to get inside the store. I will wear my mask and gloves. Connie, I'm still smiling about you thinking Joe would make somebody a good husband. He's a confirmed bachelor, for sure. He had a heart of gold but comes by every day looking like he slept under a bridge, and drives a truck that is older than me, and that's the way he likes it! Well Kay, that just goes to show that I may not be the best judge of a person but at least he is thorough in his work! I refilled my daily med things today--enough for 8 weeks except for the one I ran out of. I spilled the 82 mg aspirin first...picked up all off therfloor (I thought) opened the new bottle and when I put some in it that I had missed before, there it went on the floor of the toilet shower area...picked them up again and again and well at least 6 times but only two times to spill...I hate my shaky hand syndrome and wish My brother would go find out what the cause is as we both have it just like our dad. I already have too many things going to bother the doc again and not sure there is a fix for it anyway. Next, I got out the Dyson and started out in the bathroom to get all the hair off the floor and any pills I had missed (only found 1), then on thru the bedroom, halls office and kitchen dining room. That was all I could handle for today. Now it is snowing and I am still here because the phone rang. Gotta go.

Hi everyone! Just don’t know why I get here so late when I do absolutely nothing thing at all! Our days slip by though it is very lonely. Wish we could see our kids, grand and our sweet little Olivia! She was 4 Months old yesterday. Haven’t seen her for over a month. So thankful for daily pictures or videos.
Connie, I hate to say I laughed at your spilling your pills! I do that so often, like this morning! Some of them are so slippery like those aspirins & I have dropped the whole bottle, Costco size! So very sorry for finding it funny when it really isn’t!
Must get going here. The HC nurse will be here right away. Take care everyone. I will check back later.

Valerie sent me some sad news. My county had two new cases of Covid-19 reported today which brings us up to 26. The sad news is we've also had two more people die in the last 2 days from Covid-19. We have slightly less than 14K people in our whole county. They did say that 15 of the 26 have recovered. Our region of the state has now been bumped up to the top rating of 10 of 12?. From the Governor's office: Beginning at 11:59 PM, thru April 30, those in Region 6 may only gather with members of immediate household. Limited exceptions for weddings, funerals, and religious gatherings of 10 or fewer.
As far as I knew this is what we were supposed to be doing already, although I guess not letting any outsiders into your home now is different. You can still go to the grocery store and home again. Essential workers are still going to go to work. I still think it should be mandatory to wear a mask for EVERYONE that will be out in public and could possibly come in contact with any other people. It would protect both someone who isn't sick and also help to keep those that are sick and don't know it from spreading it to others.
Please stay safe!

Here in Manitoba we have 224 with covid and of those 7 are hospitalized with 4 in ICU. We have had 4 deaths and they all had underlying health issues. So, not too bad for a population of 1.4 million people. We have strict rules with if necessary a gathering of 10 or less. I would like to be able to see family at least but that doesn’t look like we’ll be doing that soon. Thank goodness for things like Skype, Facetime and other similar apps.
Be well everyone! It is so important to not get carried away too soon and expose others to the disease.

I did get my run to Costco done. I got gas for $1.39 a gallon...think I will save the receipt to rejoice later when they skyrocket the price again! I got my meds, a 7+ Lb pkg of ground beef, a pkt of 6 bags of chicken tenderloins, coffee and creamer & other stuff...it was a lot $138+ but we will be pretty good for quick meals. With the packing plants that are closing down due to many employees having Covid 19, I am betting that meat prices will also skyrocket but not the farmer's cut of it. I got a 50 qt bag of Miracle Gro potting soil too for $7.99. I dropped it twice trying to get it in the cart, then a kind young man offered to put it in for me but I said I probably could not get it into the car either. He said if you tell the person that checks your receipt against what is in your cart that you need help, they will load it. That is exactly what happened, I just had to pull the car in front of the exit doors. I never knew they would except for really big things like TV's etc.
It is still snowing and piling up. The trees are pretty but the flakes are the size of cotton balls or bigger. I cannot believe we are getting this much snow and the local weather said it is coming in from out by North Platte and the middle of the band of snow may be a lot more. Glad we are snug as bug in a rug!
Angela, quite OK to chuckle over my pill disaster...that is why I posted it because even though true, it sounds like slapstick comedy. I do not have Skype but I know when my DSIL goes overseas, he and the family are happy to have it. There is a lot of technology these two old people do not have but probably could not remember how to operate it anyway.
Hope you all stay safe out there!
