Drinks are ready - come chat for a few minutes ☕.
We're starting the day with a few snowflakes but should have sun for most of the day.
Yesterday I got all the laundry from our trip done so today I really must buy some groceries. My waistline tells me I have eaten out too well so it's time for some healthy stuff. I'm thinking chicken 🐔 and either veggies or a big salad tonight.
Have a super Saturday 😊

Good morning friends. Thanks Tasty for starting us off today. Today is National Gumdrop Day and National Bagel Day.
Happy Birthday Bet--you are a special person! Have a great day filled with all the things that make you happy!
Just finished some ironing this morning and getting ready to head out the door for a bike ride. When done biking and showering, I'll make a quick trip over to the library. DH is working until noon--our plans afterwards are to go hunting for a bedroom set of the guest room.
Dinner tonight will be a CORN meal.

Good morning friends.
Thanks Tasty for opening the kitchen up for us. I am glad you got home safe. Glad too, that you got some time with your Mum.
Happy Birthday to Bet! We are at -11 this morning but warming up some later today.
I will be headed out in an hour or so to Hartford to stay at a hotel and leave out early tomorrow morning from there to some really warm sun and sand. Well ship first them a nice warm island beach and some relaxing time with my best friend! I am so looking forward to this time. I did not repack last night and I am trying really hard not to this morning before I leave. LOL I am so weird about this. I do it every time I travel! I don't know why! LOL
Have a great time today all. I am taking my computer so I will be able to talk at you all during the trip. I will post some pics on FB nd i anyone knows how to transfer to here they can do so.

Chris--have a wonderful trip. Try not to do anything that will end up in the news! LOL!
It's all the way up to 1. Cold night last night. I really hope this bright sunshine is going to bring a warmer day than yesterday. I've found myself wrapped up in a blanket whenever I sit down for a while. And my furnace is running almost constantly. Oh, spring . . . where art thou?!
I am planning to turn off this computer after posting this morning and get some things done. I've been huddled in cabin fever mode--time to get my bones moving.
I plan on making chicken soup with the remains of a rotisserie chicken today. I'm craving soup this week.
Have a good day, all.

Happy Birthday Bet!! Hope you can do something fun today. The board looks nice for St. Pat's day!! Thanks for all your hard work on this board. What would we do without you!!
I ordered a self sticking paper towel holder to put underneath my new cabinets so done that this morning. Man that stuff really sticks. They sent two extra stick tapes in case you have trouble or want to move it. Was so cheap from Amazon. Love it. Don't like my counters covered I want to make things and not have anything in the way! Now if it warms up need to put my door bell cover on it needed new battery also. It is hard plastic and did not want to ruin it.
Pat and I are going to go to Council Bluffs tonight to eat. Just feel like getting away. I want to stop at Office Max and pick up new ledger book to keep track of expenses. I am hungry for a good steak somewhere! We could go to Harlan but have been wanting to go to CB for awhile.
I did get Red home yesterday. He has a pretty decorated nice box. I want to get a frame and put picture of him by it. I was proud of myself did not cry when I picked him up but did when I got home. They asked me at Vets if I wanted another kitty and I said no. I have put down three and won't do it again. They must of had one. Sorry just to terrible to do.
Well better get this day going here I have been up a long time and just drinking coffee and playing games on phone!
Chris hope you have a wonderful time on your cruise!

Well, folks, I'm getting a little done. I've totally sorted my paints and supplies into another carrier for class and have lightly sketched out where I want to paint on the canvass. I think I'll wait until tomorrow morning to do some painting when I'm fresh.
In the meantime, I sorted a pile of papers, etc. from the platform by my window and have put a huge amount into recycling. At this point, I'm feeling pretty satisfied with the odds and ends I've gotten done. Since tonight's supper are leftovers, I don't have to do any cooking. So I think the rest of the afternoon I may do some reading.
Not very exciting but at least I've found a few things I forgot I had! LOL!
Later.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the wonderful birthday wishes. I have been at the computer since about 6:30 this morning. I am working on Lions' things. I found out I have been away from graphic and making posters etc. way too long. Also haven't done much except real basic things with Word and Excel. I finally finished 2 projects only to find out my big color printer refuses to print red. Needless to say I am pretty upset about that as it is out of warranty.
I am going to get motivated to move from here in a while as I am going to town to meet some friends that happen to be in town for the weekend for a drink. Then home to fix dinner. DH and I always went out for dinner on my birthday. For many years to the same restaurant since it was the only one available without having to drive for ever. I always had linguini with white clam sauce so that is what I will make tonight. I will make a big green salad to go with it and fresh garlic bread.
Chris, have a wonderful trip. PM me your facebook page and I will check you pictures. You need to learn to do pictures here. It is easy.
Tammy, good luck furniture shopping.
Elaine, glad your Valentine dinner went well last night.
Marlene, enjoy your dinner out tonight.
Lori, Hope you enjoyed your bike ride.
Tasty, thanks for starting us off. Traveling seem to have a habit of eating way too well for our figure.
Birdy, you know you won't leave the computer off for long. You know you are addicted the same as me. I am laughing as I type this. You posted while I was typing and I typed the above before I went back as saw you post that you were back on the computer.
Waving to everyone.
Have a great day.

Hi and happy Saturday. We both looked forward to sleeping in today. DH got up around 5 but did come back to bed. I slept until around 9.
He made himself breakfast, and I started on some laundry a little later in the morning. I know our renter also likes to sleep in so did not want to disturb her. I was gone all day Wednesday so did not get any laundry done. I am doing sheets, towels and tablecloths from our company, and also 1 load of DH's things. I will wait to do my stuff until this coming Wednesday. Need to get back on track.
Bet, enjoy visiting with your friends. Enjoy your dinner also.
Lori, hope you found some furniture that you like.
Elza, hope you are having a nice weekend away.
Safe travels, Chris. If anyone deserves a wonderful and warm vacation, it is you!
I went over to Helen's for a few minutes. She wanted a sign put up telling visitors to shut the gates on her deck before opening the sliding glass door. She is so afraid of the cat getting out. I did that for her. DH also came over and tried to adjust the sound on her tv-she thought it had too much bass.
Dinner last night was good. DH really enjoyed his. I was still full from lunch out (had baked ziti) and then as I got back to the Care center, the Valentines Day party was going on so I stayed there for a few minutes and ate a piece of chocolate cake. At the restaurant I got the bbq stuffed baked potato.
Supper tonight is going to be hamburger steaks, and some roasted asparagus. The store had it for $.98 a pound.
I brought home some binders from the resale shop. We got in a large box of them so the manager gave me some. They don't sell quickly, and we had some out for sale already. I am hoping to get some recipes filed. I am not making much headway entering them on the computer, so maybe this will help me get organized. DH talked about running into town, but there is nothing much I need, so did not want to go. Not sure if he is still going to go or not. He was going to pick up some tomato plants, but keep them inside somewhere since it is still a little too early to plant.
Today is fairly warm, I have not checked the temp, and it's gray. I got my Watergate cake baked for tomorrow. In the morning I will bake the broccoli/cheese and rice casserole.

Hi Everybody! I feel like a complete stranger here after having to be gone for so long!
We're STILL dealing with hubby's work injuries from August of 2018! Two unexpected surgeries had to be added to the list and dealt with in a pretty brisk fashion. He had to have Elbow Ulnar Release surgery in both elbows because the ulnar nerve was severely-pinched, causing total numbness from his elbow through 3 fingers on his right arm, thankfully the left one wasn't quite as bad. The specialist attributed the pinched nerves to the many months of resting his arms on the arms of the wheelchair of all things! He just finished up the last one - his left elbow, so we're just doing the healing & physical therapy thing for a few months.
Next up will be his knee surgery this summer, followed by shoulder surgery later this year if all goes well. The recovery times with these 2 surgeries is lengthy, so the list of surgeries seems to take forever to get through. Hopefully by this time next year, everything will be done and we can get back to living a normal life, including me being able to return to work (I loved my job and miss it terribly!).
I read all the posts today and now have forgotten 99.9% of it! Ugh. I DO remember that it's Bet's birthday today so here's to you BET, may it be a great one! And also wishing CHRIS a safe vacation, whatever you do, do NOT pick up that corona virus!!
I need to get hubby in the shower now as we're having friends here for dinner tonight. Wishing you all a great weekend!
Paulette

Afternoon, friends! Not as cold as Bet, Birdy, and Chris, but it's COLD!!!! LOL It was 9° early this morning. I saw a robin on the kitchen patio...! Cleaning angel came today so while he did the basics, I cleaned my kitchen counter. It connects the pantry where the sink is with the rest of the kitchen where the stove and fridge are...a huge pass through with lazy Susan's in the middle. Got all wash and dusted. Yea! Bet - I hope you have enjoyed your day! Chris - Happy and safe trip! Paulette - Welcome back! Prayers that DH heals. Tonight we are having pork chops, leftover mushroom ravioli with bleu cheese sauce, and a sautéed vegetable medley. Enjoy your evening! Waving!

Happy Birthday, Bet! Hope you can put that snow shovel away for awhile and enjoy your day. Have a terrific trip, Chris. Make a wish on a palm tree for me! Marlene, I totally get that you like a clean kitchen counter. While I was showing my Florida house, I took everything off the counters. I don't like much to begin with and once I saw them completely bare, I loved it! Wish I could do that here. May find a way eventually. Bless your heart. I'm so glad you have your kitty close by now. Elaine, it sounds like you're the glue that holds your social groups together. Believe me, it is wonderful for the others to have someone dependable who isn't afraid of a little (lot) work and gets things done. That's a fascinating hobby you have, Birdy. Not sure it isn't more than a hobby the way you talk about your paints and supplies. You clearly love it and do lovely work. Sounds like your guests had the best of everything at your house, Tammy. You definitely are the hostess with the mostest! Welcome back, Tasty. Glad you saw your mom and got home safely. Tonite I'm having salmon, zucchini with onions, and a sticky bun for dessert. Happy Weekend!

I am having a Marie Calendar chicken pot pie for supper. Microwaved LOL I am at the hotel alone and did not want to walk down the road to a burger joint.
Hey Miss P! Good to "see" you. I am sorry all you are going through with DH.
Bet- I will try to figure out the picture thing when I get back. I do not know how to give you my fb link in PM. If you go to FB you can invite me as a friend and I will accept. Or Elaine or Marlene or Tammy can share my pics it they know how!
Chris (feeling like a queen sitting in bed eating her pie! )
