Hi all,
I read the post on TOH "What are you Reading" today. After reading the thread I realize what the issue is and why I can't get it. I don't want to be part of that drama so will try to revoke my request to become a member. Thank you all for being so welcoming here. Enough said.... Redsox, you can remove yourself from a board by going to your profile, settings & at the very bottom of the page there is a button to click to be removed. Hope this helps & is clear enough. If I don't have the steps exactly right, just look around a bit.

" I opened a can of worms when I suggested that Kitchen Table would be an alternate site for all to post; I was wrong. So sorry. "
Ann - you did what seemed like a good idea at the time. I think the whole thing has just gotten out of hand. I think time will sort out a lot of things and hopefully there will be a cooking thread here on the Gardeners shed and maybe even a vibrant reading thread.
Have a good afternoon.

I thought maybe I would do better with my meal planning and prepping for today, but that didn't quite happen. I guess we will be having breakfast for supper tonight featuring "Mommy Surprise!" My hubby hates it when I say that, and my kids were always cautious about the term when they lived at home. Can't imagine why. ;) I'm debating between veggie omelettes, turkey bacon, and a fruit salad, OR waffles, scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, fruit salad and tater tots. Decisions, decisions, decisions ... :D

Just typed a long post and then when I hit create post discovered I was not online anymore! Not sure how that happened.
I have checked the enable drafts but couldn't locate any kind of lifesaver to click on so guess it did not work in this case.
We got up early and left on time for our appt at Canadian Tire. Found out they did not have a large enough jack to hoist up the RV, so off we went to OK Tire. We got the tire changed but found out that our new rim is cracked. New as of June anyway. He thought we hit a pothole maybe that caused it. Except for the super highway most of the roads in the area are not great.
I tried a new recipe for tacos-they were just ok-I probably won't try that recipe again.
Lori, I am assuming that you and DH are liking him being on the day shift. Hope it stays that way! What flavor cookie did you make? I was going to say to bake them very early in the morning but it sounds like you already have them done.
We have no tv here. We are too far north for satellite and too far for our antenna to pick up anything. DH did notice that there were lots of dvd's for rent in the office. We have several movies that we have not seen yet.
Not sure where we will be going tomorrow. Will have to look and the map and decide. Have a great evening!

We had steak, corn on the cob, and brussels sprouts for supper. I am liking this site a lot and it's so fast, too. I'm glad I landed here. Tasty, your explanation is not offensive at all and, really, that was all that needed to be said. Think I'll browse a little more of the gardener's topics. My Grandma had a wonderful big garden in her back yard and I have wonderful memories of sitting on her back porch, shelling lima beans and husking corn, etc. I'm not sure who got her green thumb but, sadly, it wasn't me. :)

Ann We are really hot today here in VT. I just had my monthly massage. So awesome! Feel so good after it. It is for my frozen shoulder and for my bad back. She does such a great job on me. It is an hour long deep tissue. Hope everyone has a great nights rest. Chris

Chris, where are you in Vt. I am only about 18 miles from Lake Champlain by ferry from Orwell to Ticonderoga and 23 miles to the bridge at Crown Point. Can't think of the town there in Vt at the moment.

Tammy, I did not bake today--I'm still at the stage of trying to figure out what cookie I want to make--knowing me, it might just be something new that I haven't baked before. When I do finally bake, it will be early in the morning.
Ann, thanks, but no microwave cookies here. I tried a recipe many years back when DD was young and between her and DH, never again. They both said straight from the oven or forget.
Washer and dryer finally arrived at 6:30 this evening. Washer was fine, but the dryer had a big dent right in front. We requested a new dent-free one. They left it for us to use and they'll be calling us tomorrow on another day/time they'll bring a new one back next week.
Need to go work on a grocery list for shopping tomorrow. Lori

Hi Lori - you didn't ask, but thought I would share my all-time favorite cookie recipe. A must at Christmas. but fabulous year-round. For you and whomever else. Belle
Cranberry-and-White-Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
Makes 4 dozen
2 cups light-brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
2-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup white-chocolate chips (I just use whole bag)
1 cup dried cranberries (I just use whole bag)
1 cup chopped walnuts (I just use whole bag)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, beat the brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, milk and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder, soda, salt and cinnamon until well-combined. Stir in oats, white-chocolate chips, cranberries and walnuts.
Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto prepared sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Those cookies look good Belle. And I love cranberries!! I said when I started the thread this morning I would be back to chat. Well, I've been back a few times but not like I had intended.
I never really did cook tonight. It is Hubby's golf night and I often make something for myself that hubby doesn't like. I spent a lot of time on the computer as well as doing quite a bit of housework - mainly polishing all the furniture in the living area of the house, not my favourite thing to do but glad it's done. I grabbed myself a quick snack instead of making a meal.
Enjoy what's left of the evening.

Hi to everyone ahead of me today. Yes, another dog day of summer but decided enough was enough and just ignored it, (fortunately with air conditioning that's possible). I pulled out a 3-wick Pumpkin scented candle, roasted an 8 lb. turkey breast and made all the trimmings and it was enjoyed immensely. OK, so maybe the heat got to me but it was a fun thing to do and sure made the house smell good.
