I'm just venting. This heat is getting to me. I just got back from Greece. As you can imagine it's hot in that country, especially at this time of the year. How come I was able to walk all day, and it did not get on my nerves. I just can't seem to sleep well these days. How do you cope with the heat....or do you?

No Stella I can not cope with the heat at all. It just drains me, puts me in a bad mood and makes me feel miserable. I would rather have the cold of winter without the snow. Truthfully I can handle 40 degrees below zero better than this heat.

I can take the heat but without all this humidity. My idea weather would be in the 70's all year. I know I'm just dreaming. I think this heat has gotta to everyone. Hard to work outside, can't sleep, I still eat. Lot of people don't eat in this heat. Before long fall is here and we can enjoy the weather, but I'm afraid it will be a wet fall, as we are so dry here in Michigan.

Stella...I cannot handle the heat and humidity at all. I was overcome by heat in the hay mow when I was 18 yrs old and haven't been able to handle the heat ever since.
We don't have AC and live in a brick house. Right now it is like an oven in here. To sleep I have 4 fans in my bedroom. They keep me cool, but the noise from them makes my bedroom sound like a freekin airport...lol.
Oh well...soon I will be complaining about the furnace running all night and keeping me awake...if it's not one thing, it's another. Charlene

I'm not a fan of the heat and humidity either, Stella. I am okay with some heat over the summer. That is to be expected, but the days on end of humidity are really getting to be too much. Of course, I am not good with the extreme cold either. My perfect weather, which I know is a pipe dream, would be one month of winter and one month of summer. The rest of the time could be spring and fall for me.

Nope, not a fan either. Luckily for us (maybe?) we really don't have too many hot days. We do get high humidity, and even a temp of 80 with humidity in the 90%s is miserable. I prefer temps from 60-75, tho I do like an occasional 80 in the summer so the kids can swim. We get awful long winters so I won't say I love those either!

Not fond of the humidity but nor do I like the a/c! Here at the lake, it pretty much cools down nicely most nights. So, I can't even blame the heat for my crappy sleeping!
Charlene, no need for you to get white noise to help you sleep. All those fans ought to do the trick! Like all things one gets used to it! 😊

I am with most of you re the heat and humitity! PA can be brutal re the dog days of summer and the humidity! Ugh! Growing up we there wasnt a/c til you could buy window units in the early 60s. My parents bought a window unit fir their bedroom. Us kids didnt get one! We eventully put in an a/c unit in the family room. If it got too hot at night, we slept in the family room at night or outside in our back patio. Wonder if Gayle got her new heat pump/ac unit put in yet! I sure hope so!

From reading all the posts, looks like no one really likes the heat nor the humidity. I never did even when I was younger. It does take a lot out of me. Plus the rays of the sun seem so much stronger than years past. Must be the global warming....and the ozone layer depleted.

Stella, I am right with you and many others. I have never enjoyed summer because of the heat and humidity. Like you said, the rays seem so much stronger every year AND it's not because we are getting older, I hear many young people say the same thing.
Ho hum....

Well, another one that dislikes the heat, around here is not so humid but dry, what's not good either, the air gets so stagnant and unhealthy and because we has been in a drought for 3-4 years, the trees are dying by the thousands and have not been cleared yet, therefore there has been quite a few fires up our hills...I don't think I would survive w/o A/C. .I've heard that parked cars with closed windows can get up the 150 degr....Fall is coming!!!

Donna, it's hot in your area as well. On July 30th, I was in London, Ontario at a football game that my oldest grandson was playing (against the Mustangs).... your London team. I thought my head would explode. We were sitting in the bleachers...wide open...no shady area...can you imagine....! We lost of course. Last time I was in your town was in 1958...
