Morning, friends! Looking forward to another non-humid day here. Days like yesterday and today makes the beastly days more bearable, for sure. Last night DH cooked steak on the grill. I made a TOH recipe for Sriracha corn...it's supposed to be cooked on the cobb in a slow cooker, but I took the corn off of the cobb and made it on the stove top. Since we like spicy, we enjoyed it very much. Betsy - Ouch, poor Poppy, hope the blister heals quickly. Lori - You reminded me that I have cooked corned beef in the freezer. We love to have it with potato salad in the summer! That Chicken in sour cream recipe is one that I have made frequently over the years. I have also used it the sour cream mixture on pot roast and tips. Sometimes I use Marsala wine instead. Hope to have time to return later. We postponed our grocery shop to today...also want to go to the farm stand. Enjoy the day! Waving!

Good morning gang. Thanks for starting us this morning Ann. We went to the farm stand yesterday and got some more strawberries. The season is almost over but they have been so good this year - sweet and juicy. Last night I made a small batch of strawberry jam for us.
Hubby has an appointment in Kingston this morning and we have no idea how long this will take so I have a quiche in the fridge that could be supper for us if we are late getting home. While in Kingston, I'm hoping to stop at Bulk Barn and stock up on baking supplies - lots of empty containers here, just waiting to be filled again 🙄.
Have a terrific Tuesday.

Ann- Can you do some shopping for me? Pretty please?? I do not know when I am going to do it for camping. Easy to do meals for over the campfire would be good! You're a peach!
Tasty- Have a safe trip into Kingston. Hope you get to that baking place!

Good morning. Just a quick stop to say hi. It is beautiful out this morning. It was 56° overnight but up to 68° already and sunny. Nice breeze blowing. Work last night was a bit slower so I was out a little after 9 but still didn't get right to bed.
This morning am headed next door to get that ready for guests to come in tomorrow and then a trip to the dump with at least part of the garbage from there. Don't know what else I will get done before work. I did buy vegetables yesterday that I need to get cooked and have quite few things froze on trays that I should be packaged up.
Chris, hope you have good weather for your camping trip. Our weather doesn't look that great.
Tasty, hope the wait for the appointment isn''t too long.
Ann, you chicken recipe sounds good. I will have to look it up. Problem is when I start looking for recipes I seem to fall down Birdy's rabbit hole and don't get anything done.
Waving to everyone.
Have a great day.

A bit overcast to start our day but should clear off soon. I have a hair appt. this morning. After that I need to work.
Dinner will be calzones. DD's favorite meal and I have not made them since she got home.
Ann, happy to hear it's not humid at home.
Tasty, yummy, homemade strawberry jam sounds wonderful.
Chris, enjoy camping. Hope the weather stays nice.
Bet, I can't stop looking at recipes once I start. Love it.
Waving to each and everyone of you. Have a great day.

Good Morning ! It will be another very hot day here and of course, always humid. That system Lori was talking about will be headed our way over the weekend and may bring lots of rain. The news people are talking like a hurricane is coming. I'm not worried about us flooding and we won't be evacuating anywhere.
I'm thinking today would be a good day for sub sandwiches. I baked brownies and need to deliver those to the coffee shop and can pick up a couple of sandwiches on my way home. That way there be no food smell in the house before anyone arrives this evening for Bible study.
Betsy, sorry to hear about Poppy's blister. Hope it's all better now.
I hope everyone has a good day. Time to get moving and get the house cleaned. I'd better get busy while I still have some energy!

Hello friends. Today is National Sugar Cookie Day.
My surgery is creeping closer--a week from today. Don't get alarmed, but after next Monday, the 15th, you will not be hearing from me until maybe the weekend. As soon as I'm able to get on the computer I will check in.
It's pretty much been non-stop rain here this morning since 5AM. Since the forecast is for the rain to continue all day, I finally decided that I was going to run over to Publix to get a few groceries I forgot on Sunday. When I came back, the power company had 6 huge trucks parked on the street and the entrance to the subdivision closed off. Had to circle around and come in from the back. Was sad to see that once more they have taken down the osprey nest that the birds rebuilt recently. They have now placed these "things" on top of the poles to act as a deterrent for the ospreys to no longer build here.
Doing a bit of cleaning and since I just had a bowl of cereal for dinner last night, today I will made myself have a corn beef sandwich. I mixed up a small amount of pasta salad and then I have fresh pineapple and strawberries for my dessert.
Time to move the clothing from the washer to the dryer, then to vacuum. Have a super day everyone. Waving...
Lori

Been to town and had blood work done and went to lawyer as she finally got the Trust Will all done and needed it all signed. Wow what they get to make out a trust will !! Glad it is done and don't have to worry anymore. Got a few groceries (I thought!) that totaled $85 with 6 items on my list, never get only what is on my list! Can make a salad and need to cut up watermelon as I bought 1/2 of one gave arm and leg for it too!! Never go when you have not eaten! Now don't need to go for awhile.
Our rain was a few drops yard does not look bad so will hit it tomorrow and have it all mowed.
Chris have fun camping. It will probably bring in the rain. I am sure you will be prepared.
Sent food home with girls yesterday. I need to get my cake in the freezer today and stay out of it.
The lady I bought the cabinets from will be here Thursday so will show her how it all turned out. She called while I was gone so left a message.
All have a great day!!

Lovely day here again even though we are getting some haze in the air from smoke from Canadian wildfires again. Not as bad as the last time, though. It was nice and cool overnight but by tomorrow will be really hot and humid again.
Tomorrow is supposed to be our first painting class--only 4 meetings during July--but she emailed us today to say that they need one more person more to run the class. I'll know by this evening whether we'll be having it. She cut the meetings from twice a week to once which I think has cut the interest in it. Too bad but I can still paint on my own if I wish.
Lori--is there any chance that your DH could send an email or perhaps post here once you've had your surgery just to let us know you are OK? I'm sure you are going to be so glad to get this behind you. Hope things are going well with your DH and his family.
We probably don't have quite as many Osprey around here as you do but they often put up a "hacking" platform on a pole somewhere near to encourage them to use it rather than the utility poles. It usually works.
Tasty--I forgot to reply when you mentioned Aunt Lucy's. That was the place we ate. Sorry to hear it's no longer there. But the same thing is happening around here. So many long-standing restaurants go out of business when the owners retire and then are replaced by chains that aren't anywhere near as nice.
I saw my family physician this morning for a general checkup. He's not sure if they are going to be able to do anything about the numbness in my hand but he's waiting for the neurologist to test me and make some decisions. I have my first appointment for that on the 19th. I'm beginning to feel some numbness on my left thumb now, too, which is discouraging. Time will tell. He did suggest taking a magnesium supplement to help with the muscle cramps in my hand. I figure it can't hurt to try it.
I have no idea what I'll fix for supper tonight--time to rummage in the freezer. Talk to you later.

I am having some me time before work. Since I have sour cream I need to use up I figured the best way was baking that I could freeze but need to reduce the calories it I plan on eating them. Interesting the substitutes you can use for both butter and eggs in baking. Not really ready to get into the flour substitutes right now however. I have found a few recipes so am going to get one into the diet program I am using to see how much I can reduce the calories and then try it to see how it comes out.
Wish me luck.

Birdy, Good luck w/Doc.......One of my friends had surgery on her elbow recently to relocate a nerve that was causing numbness in her hand and some fingers...has made a great recovery.
Betsy, how is "Little Poppy's" toe? Has DS had any carpet cleaning done....sometimes there can be issues with very tender skin after carpet is cleaned (from chemical residue). I hope you are all resting better and stressing less.
Lori, soon your surgery will be behind you and you will be on to full recovery.....take it easy. When is DH due home? Stay cool. Doris

Hi. Sorry I haven't been on. I have gone on Facebook but then someone starts talking to me and I just come back to camper. We went into town today and did laundry and got a few groceries. Had thunderstorms last night. Rain all day and now we are in a tornado warning. I had DH drop me off at lodge as he drove golf cart to mailbox. I am sitting out here at table with my umbrella, lol. Not good with the lightening but I wanted to say hi. Elaine

Good to hear from you Elaine altho I hope your weather improves quickly. Tornado warnings are not good!
Chris, I meant to mention the other day that my Mum's cousin lived in Weare, NH. Mum stayed with him a few times when she came over to visit and hubby and I also visited him and his wife a couple of times. Have a fun trip later this week.
Bet, hope your work week is an easy one. You do so much.
Betsy, I think we can all relate to the trouble we can get into when we start playing in the recipes 🙄! Hope your workday was an easy one too.
Hurricanes, Tammy - stay safe, whatever you do .
Glad to see you are taking care of yourself and eating properly Lori. Know that we will be anxiously waiting to here from you next week. Do you know how long your hospital stay will be?
Isn't it amazing Marlene how quickly groceries add up? And then there's always something that gets forgotten or missed. I'm sure the lady you got your cabinets from will be very happy to see the finished results.
We've had that same spell of lovely weather Birdy. 3 days of glorious sunshine and comfortable temperatures 😎. I sure hope the neurologist has some better news for you when you see him (?). As Geema always says, getting old isn't for cissies.
Good to see you Doris.
Hubby's appointment this morning was very speedy. We arrived at the hospital early and were checked in with about 20 minutes to spare. We had only just sat down in the waiting room when he was called in! The technician did several tests, we had seen the junior doctor and the doctor in charge came in and we were out of there, all within 35 minutes. What our own eye doctor had seen needs no treatment yet but he will keep a regular check on hubby. Fortunately the doctors at the hospital know our eye doctor quite well avnd know how good he is. This will save us 3 hours driving each time!
Having finished early we picked up a few things we couldn't get the other day when we were in Kingston. Had a trip to Lee Valley Tools which we both enjoy. The quality is great, they have some great ideas and the prices are not bad. We are still trying to find something effective to get rid of the racoons that insist on visiting each night. They will get in for us what we are after! Means yet another trip but that's OK!
When we got to Bulk Barn - they are closed for renovations 😔 !!!! So I still haven't got my baking supplies. Oh well, guess Iwill take a trip to my regular store one of these days.
