Holiday Hot Chocolate in a Jar



Nothing feels like the holidays more than a creamy cup of hot chocolate. Give your friends and family this treat in a jar so they can enjoy this festive drink whenever they like!



Hot chocolate in a jar ingredients

You Will Need:

1-1/4 cup instant powdered nonfat dry milk

1/4 cup instant powdered chocolate drink mix

1/4 cup mint chocolate chips

2 Tbsp. instant powdered chocolate flavored coffee creamer

Mini marshmallows

5 Ball® Keepsake Collectible Holiday Jars or any Ball® (16 oz) pint glass preserving jars with lids and bands

Directions:

Ingredients in a bowl

Add all ingredients into a medium bowl.

Stirring ingredients

Stir ingredients together until they are evenly mixed.

Pouring hot chocolate in to a jar

Pour mixture into the jars. Top hot chocolate mix with mini marshmallows. Screw on all lids and bands until they are fingertip tight .

Finished DIY hot chocolate in a jar

Create a recipe tag for preparing the hot chocolate (see directions below). Tie the recipe tag around the neck of the jar with a piece of festive ribbon.

Directions For Tag:

Scoop 1/3 cup mix into a mug.

Pour 1 cup hot water over mix.

Stir until well blended and mint chocolate chips are melted.

Top with marshmallows.

I have seen some white hot chocolate mixes which add dried orange peel, which is optional but sounds good. I would guess 3/4 to 1 tsp. of ground dried peel.

This tasty white hot chocolate mix looks beautiful layered in a glass storage jar… Perfect as a teacher gift, thank you gift, hostess gift, etc!

1/2 cup sugar
1 (3.4-oz.) instant white chocolate pudding mix
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
8-ounces grated white chocolate baking bar

In a 32-ounce mason jar or storage jar, layer the white hot chocolate mix ingredients in the following order: sugar, pudding mix, milk powder, and grated white chocolate.

TO PREPARE THE HOT CHOCOLATE MIX FOR DRINKING, combine 2 cups of mix with 2 cups of water in a large saucepan. Stir over medium heat until the chocolate pieces are melted and the mixture is heated through.
