Pete's Famous Bacon Rings-grandmaZn8
Ingredients: l pack of bacon (1 lb.), 2 cans of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls or equivalent
1. Dust a flat work surface with flour to keep dough from sticking. 2. Remove dough from can of rolls keeping it as one piece. 3. Unroll the dough onto the flat work surface keeping the dough in a rectangle. Do not separate into the "crescents". 4. Dust a rolling pin with flour and roll out the dough. Roll the height until it is the same length as a piece of bacon. Roll out the width until dough is thin but not fragile. 5. Place strips of bacon edge•to-edge along the width of the dough until the dough is covered with bacon. See sketch below. 6. Roll up dough and bacon from one end (see sketch) into a compact roll. Wrap in wax paper and place in freezer to harden dough for slicing. 7. After dough is hard, remove it from freezer and remove wax paper.. 8. Place oven tray at top position and set oven temperature to bake at 375 ". 9. Slice bacon roll to make "cookies" of about '/4" thick. Place on large cookie sheet. 10. When oven has reached temperature place cookie sheet on top oven shelf. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Too little time makes them taste "doughy". Too much time makes them dry and hard. 11. Remove sheet from oven and place bacon rings on a paper towel to absorb extra bacon grease. 12. Serve hot for best taste! Roll up starting at end
