GINGERSNAPS-Tammy 1 c. shortening 2 eggs, beaten ½ c. molasses 3 ½ c. flour 2 t. baking soda 2 t. ginger 1 t. ground cloves 1 ¼ t. ground cinnamon 2 c. sugar plus more to roll the balls in
Cream 2 c. sugar, with shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs and molasses. Beat well. Stir the dry ingredients together, then add to creamed mixture gradually. Form dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake 10 minutes at 350*. Makes 8 dozen.
