Composting DIY from Trash Can-Gayle
Take an ordinary outdoor trash can ( I suggest one without wheels) & drill holes all through the sides & bottom, Put old veggies, kitchen scraps (no meat) egg shells, weeds (non seeding type), grass clippings, leaves etc; in it.
Every couple of weeks or so turn it on it's side & roll it around the yard a few times. (You'll need a locking lid or a bungee cord for the lid) This stirs it up & helps the process go faster. IMO, it would be hard to do this part if it had wheels.
I had a compost pile at the edge of the woods but too many grass & tree roots kept growing in it so I'm going to try this. You don't want an abundance of grass clippings because those will stay wet & make it start to smell.
