Sweet and Sour Sauce-Jan in BC 1 cup sugar 1 cup vinegar 1 cup catsup 1 cup water, divided
mix all together, using 3/4 cup water. Cook until hot, then thicken with 2 tbsp cornstarch in the 1/4 cup water. Add sliced fresh ginger, if desired. (I cook to taste, then remove ginger). Can add sliced green onions when finished cooking. Note: this makes a lot. I make it in 1/4 cup ingredients, that will make 1 cup. Don't forget to cook the cornstarch. Especially good with steamed rock cod. I've seen people put it on all the food they eat, chowmein etc.
