2 c sugar
2 c raw peanuts 1 c white syrup karo
1 t baking soda 1/2 c water
2 c raw coconut 1 c butter
Combine sugar, syrup, and water in heavy pan. Bring to a boil, then add butter. Stir frequently until mixture reaches 230* using candy thermometer. Add raw peanuts and continue to stirring until temp. reaches 305*. quickly remove from heat and quickly stir in baking soda. Mix well and add raw coconut or leave out. Mix well and pour into two well greased sheet pans. As it cools I stretch it thinner with forks. Put in cool place to set. Twist pans slightly and break into serving sizes. Makes 2 1/2 #
