Let's see if anyone visits this evening. It has been so quiet the last few days.
I'll be back :) .

I guess tomorrow will tell but I think it's been a good day.
I knew I wanted to get into town early this morning so that's what I did. I dropped off some of hubby's 'too large' clothes. He has lost weight since his heart surgery last fall and there's huge piles of clothing to go. We just never think of it. I also needed to go and get my glasses tightened, and then back to the main drag to go to the bank.
After that, I went grocery shopping (was given strict orders before I left, to remember my 'weight lift' restrictions). So bearing in mind my 10lb limit I visited all 3 stores in town. Once I got home and put everything away, I was ready to sit and relax. spent a big chunk of the afternoon, finishing my book The Magnolia Story and Chip & Joanna Gaines from Fixer-Upper on HGTV. Interesting, maybe a little bit 'too good to be true".
After that I decided I really needed to do the finishing (stitching up) on this year's knitting. I love knitting but despise the finishing off, so tend to leave it 'til the last minute. This year I decided I should do it while I have to sit and otherwise twiddle my thumbs. So far I've got a dozen hats totally finished and a couple of pairs of mutts - lots more to go - another day!!
That was my day - how was yours?

Good evening. Thanks for starting this, Tasty! Sometimes I don't think I have had a day worth talking about so I don't bother to start a Chit Chat myself. Wonder if others feel the same way?
I was relatively useless today. I did finally make it out back to water and fertilize my patio pots. Hopefully there will be improvement in them soon. I just remembered that I didn't do anything with the planters and baskets out front so that will have to be done tonight when I am done here. A gardener's work is never done. LOL!
Just about the only thing I did today of value was to sit down and redo our sheet with important numbers on it ... sort of a cheat sheet when we are in a hurry. I have one in the office taped to the back of the desk backboard and one in the kitchen pinned to the bulletin board. I don't know when I last did them, but they were sorely in need of updating. They didn't even match up because I made notes on one but not the other. This all was precipitated by the fact that DSon finally shared his new address with me. I'd only asked 3 darn times before. Don't know what the big secret was ... Anyway, when I went to add their new address to the paper, there was no room for more chicken scratch so I opted to do the update. Kind of felt like I'd cleaned a closet or a dresser drawer or something. :D
I forgot to mention yesterday that I saw some sad news on FB. The mother of one of my former students (many years ago I was an aide in his kindergarten class) posted that her brother-in-law had passed away overnight very suddenly. I think this news shocked everyone because the man was barely in his 50s. I also had his son in that same kindergarten class. The cousin were night and day different, but both good boys. I think DH and I will plan to attend at least the visitation. I will likely go to the funeral also. The parents of the man who passed away have always been exceptionally kind to DH so I know he wants to go support them in this time of tragedy, but I feel an extra responsibility to the family because of my connection to the boys. I also had the older sons of the man who passed away on the playground and in the cafeteria a few years before the youngest one in kindergarten. This is such a crushing blow, particularly because of the young ages of the sons. I lost my dad when he was a few years older than this man was, but I was also in my 30s. Being a young teen without a father will be life changing for the youngest, and no less difficult for the older boys. I'm sure the brothers of the man who passed away will do everything they can for their nephews, as will the grandparents. Anyway, that has been on my mind a lot since I read the news.
Well, I am going to head out to water and fertilize out front before it gets dark. Have a nice night!

Good evening Tasty and Karen and anyone else who is still up and can't sleep...lol. I am here late, but not because I cannot sleep...I am just finally done with my chores so I can go to bed. It has been a busy day. Tim was much better today, and he has agreed for me to take him home tomorrow if he feels well enough in the morning.
I gave all my my plants a little drink tonight and I will get up in the morning and water them well. Since I am taking Tim home, I have told Lair that I will stay and help him with housecleaning, etc. I am happy to do anything I can to help. I will post in the morning if I have time...if not, I will see you all Friday morning. Charlene

Good evening.
I did get some more of the Daylily bed cleaned out today until it got too hot in the sun & I quit. If I had started earlier I probably could have finished it.
Finally went grocery shopping about 4 & it was almost 8 by the time I got home & everything put away.
Y'all know the story about the store mngr I've been having problems with. Well my last day in his store (other than as a helper, but more on that in a minute) was last Wed. I think I told you how nice & polite he was that day.
I just found out that sometime after I left he filed a ticket (which is a type of formal complaint) with my employers claiming that I didn't adjust some trays properly. My District Mngr mentioned it in an e-mail regarding something else. Kind of in a "joking"manner. This complaint was not made directly to him but further up the chain I think. Thing is I know of no trays that needed adjusting last week so I don't have a clue as to what he's talking about. I'm so glad to be out of his store & I have asked my DM to try & find somebody else to help with the project next week. It will be money lost but the stress of working with this jerk is not worth it.
Working tomorrow but not in his store. Helping out in a different store.
Great news about Tim. I know he'll be happy to get home & Lair will be glad to see him. Plus he gets his house cleaned.
