Just Enough Frittered Apple wellenuffalone.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
All I have at hand for fresh fruit are apples, and I would guess they aren't all THAT fresh since we are well out of apple season here. These are delicious warm and only edible cold. So, after you fritter your apple and douse it with syrup, powdered sugar or in my case cinnamon sugar...don't stop and spend 6 minutes shooting pictures of it.
FRITTERED APPLE
1 egg pinch salt 1 tablespoon sugar 1 tablespoon milk 1/2 cup flour 1 medium apple 1-2 tablespoons oil for frying
Core & peel apples, cut in wedges, then slice wedges in thin slices. Put the slices on paper towel to dry Toss apples in a tablespoon or two of flour (the flour makes the batter stick) Combine egg, milk, salt, sugar and the rest of the flour to make thick batter Toss the apples in the fritter batter Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Slide in fritters either separately or in groups Cook until golden brown, turning once. Drain on paper towel & sprinkle with sugar or syrup.
