Good morning! It's clear and quite warm out (50°) this morning. I slept in an extra hour this morning...robins woke me up!!! Fish tacos were good. Did anyone see ATK's review on the "best" frozen fish for tacos? The winner was Gorton's (of Gloucester, MA) fish sticks. That's what I used, and they were quite good! Tonight we are having ATK strip steak, sautéed pasta or sweet potato tots, and steamed buttered broccoli. Destruction services came very early and took 3 hard drives and 8 boxes of shredding. Epilepsy Foundation came sometime mid-afternoon. Today I'm tackling under the kitchen sink and the cleaning supplies in the back room. Have to sweep up after the electrician, too. As usual I will dance with the Swifters. Have a wonderful day! Waving!

Good morning Ann and all who follow. How great to have so much gone in one day Ann. That must have felt good. It is acloudy 57 this morning but will warm up into the high 60s later with maybe a little sun. Hubby will do one gym class this morning instead of his usual 2. The men will take over the golf course at lunchtime for their opening tournament of the year so I will have almost the whole day on my own - no one else to consider. That alone sounds like salmon will be on my menu. Earlier in the week I had seen some planters for the balcony railing that I liked at the dollar store so decided yesterday to go and get them. Well, that was easier said than done. 2 dollar stores here in town had lots but only 2 white ones and they were small. I ended up going over to the mainland and it was the 3rd store before I found any more. If I'd wanted colored ones it would have been easy. So there went my morning. Have to admit I was tired by the time I got home! I did make the French bread in the afternoon and we had that for supper with a platter of pate and cheese. No work and so good for a change. The mattress covers in the dryer and the sheets are in the washer so I will remake the bed later on. Other than that I'll let the day take me where it will. Hope you all have a super Saturday.

Good morning. It is 49°and another mostly cloudy day in the 60's. Yesterday I didn't get as much don as I had hoped for but did make progress. I got 3 dozen tomato plants transplanted. Still have more to do. Again worked on my computer system. I think except what I need to do with the email mess I am done. Gave up on the new speed system and got the old one back up and running and am returning the new equipment that I bought. I do believe it is defective. Before I went outside I emptied the dishwasher and got another load done. Also fixed a smart plug that wasn't working for the fan in the greenhouse.
Worked on my 4 wheeler. Got the new battery in and rigged a way of reaching a primer for starting it that is not very accessible. Fixed my trailer hitch that DS put together the wrong way and got all of the cowling etc. back on that we had off working on it. All I need to do is put some air in the trailer tires and I am set to go finally. Did a lot of spraying for weeds so hopefully that will take care of a couple of rather large areas for a while.
I was too lazy to get up this morning and fell back to sleep trice so now I am running behind. First thing I am going to town and do the one little job I have to do, pick up the mail and home to get outside. I need to get the water run to the greenhouse. That will save me a lot of time not having to carry water all the time. Once that is done there is no end to beds that need to be cleaned and weeded. I have to get a couple of things ready for the mail before I go to town. Also have some applications for Lions' awards emailed off sometime today if I expect the awards to be here by the end of June.
Ann, is it Monday you take possession of the Condo? Hope you dance is short and sweet with the swiffer so you can keep packing.
Tasty, isn't it aggravating when you know exactly what you want that seems so simple and can't find it. enjoy your day to yourself. I remember when they were nice but now I wish it was just the opposite.
Have a great day.

Good morning all! May the 4th be with you!
Not much going on here this morning. I did not get up all that early. It's difficult when you are running on other people's schedules. As I sit here in my wheelchair, I'm pretty sure my pants are on backwards. Luckily nobody will notice except me!
My nephew from Florida called and we had a nice chat. I'm laughing because he has discovered history. He is listening to audible books and is absolutely amazed at names of areas right here that keep coming up in the early history of the country. I have a feeling he'll be delving a little deeper into this as he goes along.
I'm hoping to get the hummingbird feeder of very soon. They are appearing around me. Other than that, not much else in my plans for today.
Have a great Saturday.

Good morning. Rough night sleeping so I didn't get out of bed until 6:30 and then I really moved. Well most of me moved, my neck is in bad shape again so it may take all day to get right if at all. The rest of me woke up pretty well for my age. hehe
Bath towels in the washer and then a load of dark clothes. Annie has got to get let loose today, the floors need her help. She does better than the dust mop. At least she picks up the dirt rather than move it around. Later I'll put together the casserole for Sunday's potluck at church. I also bought a large jar of pickles that I will cut into spears. Not many around here think of pickles, but I'm one that likes a pickle at a potluck and with casseroles. If there are a lot left, they will keep and not go to waste.
It was already 7Oº when we went out this morning. Later today through tomorrow the wind is to be wicked. I better tie up Big Ben my big wind chime and put my empty water jugs some place where they won't fly away.
Time now for cup of coffee number two. Pop-tart today instead of cookies. Nice change. Fish patty, baked potato and cooked peas for lunch not sure about supper yet.

Decided to go ahead with laundry even tho I usually save that for Mondays. Towels are at a premium at the moment! I like clean towels/washcloths all neat and tidy in their designated drawers. Silly the little things that give comfort. Tasty, enjoy the day all to yourself. Quite a nice idea. Birdy, I hope you get your bird feeder up ASAP. Obviously, a real treat for you. Tonite's supper will be tuna salad, deviled eggs, and a tomato salad. By a tomato salad I mean several tomatoes peeled and chunked, green onions and Good Seasons Garlic Salad Dressing mixed in. Hugs

Birdy- The local nursing home here asked for some hummingbird feeders that attach to the window. So I went and bought them and gave them to them in my Mom's honor. She would have loved it. She loved Hummingbirds.
Well ladies! I think I got myself into trouble. Took DGS to his baseball game and sat down to watch it. Brian and Alicia were out of town and Dan was not feeling good so "Tag" I was it. Didn't mind anyway. Well there was this parent there that was being so outrageously rude and yelling stuff at his kid and the other kids that I got fed up with it (so did 3 other parents) and I thought to myself "If he says anything about Max I will say something" Well yep he did. Yelled at him to "get his head out of his a$$" I was livid! I turned and "politely " told him that if he wanted to make an a$$ of himself by humiliating his child that was his right but it is not his right to address any other child that way and to "Shut Up" One other parent came over and asked him to stop it, not as politely as I did! Then another parent came over with a chair and sat right down beside him! LOL He never said another word! LOL Nana Bear came out! LOL

Chris, I totally understand your feelings. It happened to me once at a mall in Pennsylvania. I was with the young granddaughters at a playground when a boy much older got inside the large slide and would not let any other child come down. The girls complained and at first I told them to ask him nicely to not do that. Well, he kept on aggravating the smaller kids, so when he finally appeared I yelled at him like I have never in my life yelled at anyone! I threatened to have the police come and arrest him and ban him from the mall! I was livid also-DO NOT mess with my grands!!!!! Good for you!
I just got home from the shop. It was so slow today. We have not sold much of the furniture at all, and on top of everything it's raining again! On the news last night we had like a 20% chance. Tomorrow is at least an 80% chance of rain. We will be ok but I do worry about others in low lying areas.
We are giving some of the furniture away if anyone needs some who have gotten flooded. David and everyone else I asked agrees.
We went out to eat Mexican last night so I guess tonight I will pull the frozen tortellini out of the freezer and cook it.
I picked up some Nyquil when in town last night so I slept well for a change! Wishing everyone a good night's sleep and sweet dreams.

Good for you Chris. What gives parents the right to scream and holler like that, even at their own kids. No wonder so many young people have no manners!!

Hi there, friends! Today is National Homebrew Day, National O.J. Day, and National Candied Orange Peel Day.
Today is one of my favorite days, Derby Day. I wanted to be a jockey as a kid, but my height and weight were against me. It was always on my bucket list to attend one Derby race, however due to my Lymphedema making walking difficult for me, that also is no longer a reality. I am grateful I can still see and enjoy watching it on TV each year.
Our new neighbors began moving into the rental house next door. We haven't seen them yet, but the handyman working at the house stopped DH and said he still has work to do, but they want in now (they have a couch and several boxes on their back lanai).
Same old same old...Spent the majority of the day in the kitchen putting away the fruit and veggies we got at the Amish Farm Market, then making mashed potatoes and a side kale salad to have with the Lecho that I pulled from the freezer. In between I had a few pieces of ironing to do, empty the dishwasher, wash and dry the bedding, and get my biking done. Work done, I've been glued to the TV; DH has been warming up dinner and has just informed me it is ready. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Wishing each of you a relaxing and peaceful evening. Lori

Good evening. It has been a fairly nice day weather wise. Overcast most of the day but in the high 60's and muggy if you were doing anything then a cold wind and you would be chilled. I did get to town for the mail and got my little job done. Picked up a couple of sale items while I was there. However, I was a bit late getting to town. I did my to do list which as usual is extensive. Then I did my menu for the week. When I went to the basement with my menu to get everything upstairs I took my haphazard inventory with me. I ended up pulling all of the bins with prepared main courses and doing a real inventory with numbers. I have 61 entrees plus 26 soups in that one freezer.
My neighbors are here this weekend and last Saturday she offered to help me put up my second greenhouse. When I got back from town a little afternoon and asked if that offer was still available. We got the greenhouse up and the carpet in. Then I pretty much moved most of the plants out of the shop so I could get the benches from there into the greenhouse as well as the work benches. Besides moving benches that also entailed rebuilding a couple of seed racks to work in the greenhouse. I got the water supply run to the deck and got everything in the greenhouses watered. Still have a little to do on the water supply setup but that can wait.
Got a lot done today but not much crossed off the to do list. Tomorrow is another day. I am tired. I may make a trip to the city tomorrow morning. I read the ad for one of the supermarkets and they have whole beef tenderloins on sale for $9.99 a pound while they last. I have been eyeing them for months at almost double that price so I may spend the money for the gas to go buy one for the freezer.
I just finished dinner which wasn't that good. I pulled corned beef hash for dinner and it wasn't any better the second time around than it was the first time. Fresh broccoli and dinner rolls were good so I will survive.
Enjoy your evening.
Bet

Hope your new neighbours are a big improvement on the old ones, Lori. Nice that hubby took on getting supper ready while you watched the Derby. Sounds like you achieved a lot Bet, even if it wasn't all on the to-do list. How far are you from the city? I did get the bed remade and a few other 'Saturday' chores done and then when hubby left for golf, I went out too. I had a prescription to pick up and I also wanted to get some salmon for myself for tonight. It turned out really well, with a soy, ginger and garlic marinade. This afternoon I spent a chunk of time amalgamating some recipes - oh, what a job I have ahead of me! Could take me forever and I know I will never try them all. On the other hand, it keeps me out of mischief 😮 .

It's been a good day here -- DH & I picked up my new-to-us car this morning so I'm pretty excited about that. The lady we're buying it from has macular degeneration and can't drive anymore but told us she was so grateful for us buying it from her. We're grateful to have it! It's a 2020 Honda CR-V with less than 8,000 miles on it. Can't beat that! I won't be driving it yet. DH will go see our insurance agent on Monday and then the DMV for the tag and title stuff. Very glad to have it, though. There are 3 people we know of who are interested in the older Honda that I've been driving, so I don't think we'll have any trouble selling it.
My sister & DBIL were in town to do some shopping so we met them for lunch at our favorite BBQ place. I'd never tried their BBQ salad so decided to try that today and it was delicious. A big crisp salad topped with pulled pork -- I ate half of it and I'm still not that hungry. I'll enjoy the rest of it later.
A quiet afternoon at home after that -- I got all the weekend laundry done. Helen, I get you -- I love seeing all the clean sheets and towels neatly folded on their shelves in the linen closet.
It's been raining here off and on. We had hard rain during the night and then today it's mostly sprinkled. There were a couple heavy rains off and on, though, and just now I'm hearing some thunder.
Chris, good for you, telling that so-and-so what he needed to hear. I always appreciated at DS1's ball games, how all the parents cheered for every kid, not just their own, and could find something good to say no matter what the outcome was. People need to remember this is not the major leagues and they are just kids! I only remember one adult in those few years who yelled and criticized the kids, and that was one of the coaches -- fortunately not DS's.
Ann, I always smile at the mental picture of you dancing with the Swiffers!
Tasty, after all that work, I'm glad you finally came home with what you wanted! It would have been too disappointing to end up empty-handed. Hope you will enjoy the planters this spring.
Birdy, it's a good thing to have a historian in the family. Although DS2 doesn't like to throw old papers away -- "they're primary sources!"
Mamma, that's a good idea to take pickles to your potlucks. I had never thought of that before but I like pickles with a meal too.
Tammy, sorry to hear you have more rain on the way. I'm very glad you & DH are okay at your house. How is the situation at your church? Will you be able to have services there tomorrow? And I agree that making furniture available to people who need it is a great idea.
Lori, we just finished watching the Derby. Sometimes I miss the fun of the Derby festival and the general excitement it brings to Louisville, but I'm pretty content to watch it on TV. Quite an exciting finish for this race and a big celebration for Derby 150! I was enthralled with the beautiful trophy for this milestone race, with the garland of roses studded with emeralds, diamonds and rubies. 😲
Bet, how nice that your neighbor could help with the greenhouse. I know that had to make it easier. And you have an impressive stash of meals in your freezer. Hope you have a restful evening.
Elaine, I love that you heard from former students that you were their favorite lunch lady! That is so sweet and says a lot about how well you did your job. I still remember the lunch ladies at my elementary school and how much we all looked forward to the days when there were homemade cookies or cinnamon rolls. Good stuff. I will have to look for the Lunch Lady website somebody mentioned.
