Good morning. This site seems to be running slow for me this morning so this will be short. Just another hot day in our forecast. I need to go out and mail a payment for my health insurance that I forgot about. I always pay it early but this month it slipped my mind until late yesterday. I don't think it's a big enough deal to pay over the phone so I'll go mail it today and stop by tractor supply in the way home. I have a $2 coupon that expires today and I want to try some pine horse pellet bedding for cat litter so will use it to help offset that. Not sure what I'll do outside, maybe direct sow some flower seeds in front of the porch. I was afraid my zucchini wasn't going to sprout but noticed some green yesterday. The yellow squash I had started inside and planted out hasn't grown yet. I'm still leaving the tomatoes in their pots until they are bigger but the pots are where they will be planted.
Have a good day.

Leslie, the site was also running slow for me. It seems to be raining every other day here. Rain this morning and sunshine for the rest of the day and tomorrow. I did get the lawns mowed even though they were a bit muddy. Luckily I won't have to rent goats or sheep. Leaving shortly to drive a friend to St. Cloud (90 miles) so she can have a shot in her eye. She has macular. We will probably come right home as she has no vision in the eye that had the shop. Marlene

Well I’ll see how the site works for me. The other day there was an ad with sound and if thats gonna be a thing then idk how much time I will want to spend on here. Already have enough issues with resetting pages and slow typing most times.
Its grey and gloomy but we are on the road for a few days away. Had all the plants to deal with last night and instructions for dd to take care of things.
Yesterday I spent a good chunk of the day helping ds study. He just texted he got 96/100 so I guess it helped. One more test left then hes done with his 2 yr RN. Crazy! Then to pass the boards.
Thats all from here. Will check in when I can.

Good morning, it is 78° outside right now. Once the sun is off the balcony I will go out and sit a bit. First I need to get the dishwasher loaded and running.
I have been reading so have not done anything too productive yet today.
Have a good day all

I'm back...the board seems better and my internet as well. We were having hard rains this morning, but wouldn't think that would mess up internet connection.
Yesterday was a comfortably busy day at work. Afterwards I went to Phyllis and helped her 2 2 loads of laundry. I then came home because DSis and DBIL were stopping over for coffee. The rest of my evening was phone conversations, Chicago shows and a quick trip to help Phyllis restore her TV (at 8 PM). Whenever she can't get it to come on, she thinks the remote needs new batteries, but so far every time it's been because she pushes the input button and turns it from dish to antenna which there is none.
This morning I took Curt to the post office. I am going to grab a sandwich shortly and then go to the neighboring town for a haircut. This afternoon some good friends from MN are stopping by for a visit on their way through my area.
Leslie....My oldest cousin (almost 90) is named Yvonne. The Y is pronounced eee and the middle syllable is pronounced like Don and the last e is silent... e-VON' , so similar to what your GGD's chosen name.
Gayle...I keep forgetting to say this, but you mentioned that the epsom salt in your weed killer wasn't dissolving. I have never used epsom, but rather just plain old table salt for my vinegar/salt weed killer.
My recipe: Fill a container with 1 gallon of white vinegar
Add 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap
Stir in 1 cup of table salt until it's fully dissolved
Pour the mixture into a spray bottle

Good morning, its 45° cloudy and breezy this morning. Our afternoon is expected to be partly sunny and pleasant with temperatures in the mid-60s.
Yesterday Sis called Fred Meyer Garden Center and they had just received a shipment of red salvia so our first stop of the day was their garden center. Along with the 4 red salvia plants a hanging basket of Million Bells and Lobelia came home with me. Then it was off to the grocery store and I did the grocery shopping while Shar visited the jewelry department to have them replace the battery in her watch. If she could have gotten the back of the watch off, she could have replaced the battery herself.
Late afternoon we went over to my niece’s and last night we all had dinner at Red Lobster. I really like their cheddar biscuits and the steak & lobster. Lots on the menu but the steak and lobster won out again. Plus, I have most of my steak leftover and can have that for brunch.
No special plans for today will just see what the day brings.
Have a great day.

Good just-noon. 86° and partly cloudy. Went blueberry picking early. The berries were perfect and there was no effort filling a bucket. I found my mother's recipe for coffee cake and will make that first. I ate some with my cereal already. So good. Tasty, I must confess, I've never attempted blueberry jam but it sounds tempting.
Hope everyone is enjoying your day in spite of your busyness.

It is sunny and pretty nice out today. The birds singing their little hearts out is a nice bonus. With others having trouble with the site, I'm glad I am getting here late. Maybe things are fixed? Last night was a real mixed bag for me. David came late in the afternoon to mow. It was suppertime, actually. He wanted to start with putting in the family room air conditioner. That was a huge mess! For whatever reason, we ended up with black mold inside the thing and ended up scrapping it. Something went wrong in the process and a fuse got blown, which flipped DH out when his CPAP machine wouldn't work. Understandable. David went down the basement and took care of that. Thank God. He ended up having his older brother who lives around the corner from us come over and help him with the air conditioners and mowing since it got so late. They ended up mowing with the patio lights on. Eventually, David put the small A/C unit in the family room so DH would be able to stay cool when we warm up. The plan has been for me to buy a new bigger unit for the family room and have the little one put back in my bedroom. Upon talking about this with DSisIL this morning, I think I am going to call and get an estimate on what it would cost to get the whole-house air working again. If I am going to spend $500 on an air conditioner to cool the family room and the kitchen, I may as well see what it would cost to have the whole-house unit fixed. We assumed it would be cost prohibitive when it went out but never actually checked. I think I am going to look into this - in my spare time. While that was a big bummer, what turned into a bit of a blessing was DH not being able to pretend he is okay in front of David last night. He was angry and aggressive towards me, and David noticed. I told DH if he didn't settle down David would tell DiSisIL, which he did. He told me before he left that he was worried about me. It felt like a relief that someone in DH's family actually saw how he can be, and this was just a snippet of the pressure I am under with DH. DSisIL called me this morning - after DH blew her off when she confronted him about last night. I let loose on her and she knows far more than I'm sure she ever wanted to know about things. I, on the other hand, am feeling relief. Everything has been building up inside me and with no one asking about "things", I was a pressure cooker. I told DSisIL that it would help me if people would take DH out of the house once in a while to give me a break. I don't know if that will go anywhere, but it might. At least I expressed it. I need to go to the PCP today and ask him to write a prescription for the lift chair. The podiatrist that was so willing to help if I needed anything sent back a message that the procedure should be that the PCP write the order, but if he won't I am to let the podiatrist know and he will. Sheesh! The PCP is slower than molasses in January to do things like this - you may recall the CPAP odyssey. I hope if I go in person that will go over better than if I make a phone call. I have to go to Walmart for syringes for DH's insulin, so while I am out I will stop there. With DH minding my schedule, it seems as though it is time for me to get dressed and do something - that he deems important. I'll try to come back later. Wishing everyone a good day.

Karen, he couldn't take the cover off and spray it with bleach and wash it out? That's what I used to do with my window units and did it to the one I took to DS last year to use until he got his central unit fixed. We basically took that thing all apart, cover off, vents out, then sprayed with a bleach cleaner and washed it out. Used his shop vac to get dust out and blow it basically dry. We just had to be careful not to get the controls wet. Not sure if they did because it worked but the remote wouldn't and later it wouldn't turn off from the touch panel. He had to just plug it in to turn it on and then unplug. But it was getting pretty old by that point. Depending on where the mold is I would think it could be cleaned, as long as it still works.

Board seems to working OK now. Like Karen, glad I wasn't here earlier.
Melissa, I haven't had the ads with sound yet & hope I don't.
Karen, getting the house AC looked at it seems like a good idea. If it's something you can afford,it seems like it would be less stressful than putting units in & out every yr & having to wait on somebody to do it. Could be something a lot simpler than expected. But I am glad you finally got one in for now & got the grass cut.
It's a beautiful day here. A little breeze & 75* at the moment.
Walking around outside this morning I noticed some of the Siberian Iris that I was going to move to a sunnier spot are blooming. Thanks to the tree being gone, I guess. So I will leave them where they are & see what happens. Since they are doing better I weeded the bed while I was out there & put down some Bone Meal.
Charlene, the issue with the Epsom Salts seems to have resolved itself; the grass in the d'way has died. But now I get to rake it up. I have tried the vinegar/salt/soap mixture a couple of times. Didn't kill a single blade This is a recipe I got from my neighbor & she swears by it. Instead of reg vinegar you use 30% strength, Epsom Salts & soap. No water.
Good news, my hearing is finally coming back. Not quite 100%, but a lot better than it was. It took 3 wks instead of 2.
I'll be back later.

Leslie, that was the original plan as per David's brother, but it seemed irredeemable to both of them and I didn't have a clue. Plus, it somehow got dropped out onto the concrete as they were taking it out of the window. I didn't see what happened, just heard it hit the patio. I'm sure it didn't work after that. A scrapper came by early this morning and hauled it away so I'll never know any differently. Oh well.
