What a pretty meme Charlene. Hope your boss finds your replacement soon.
Good morning. A mild but foggy 48 this morning but the fog will burn off and we'll reach 60 later on. I'm ready for some nice weather. Not sure all the day holds other than that I will be out for lunch. Enjoy your day!

Good morning everyone. It is 48º and going to mid 60s later, but it's going to be windy.
Yesterday I worked in the house until about 10 and then went out and pulled a few weeds. I also direct sowed a few marigolds and tithonia. My friends came for lunch and then I went to Phyliss' and washed the bedding for her bed and the spare bed.
Today is work and keeping my fingers crossed it's not as busy as Monday was....although the tips were rewarding on Monday...lol. Tasty....sounds like your group had a good day canning again. Enjoy lunch out.
Wishing everyone a great day. I know May Day isn't observed any more most places, but I couldn't resist doing a May Day meme. Charlene

A good day in MN. Going to lunch with 2 friends. Kohls has a one day only 40% off sale, so I ordered a few things.

Good morning. We had some sprinkles late yesterday so too wet to work outside right now. I did get the garden soil worked into the bed in front of the porch yesterday but don't remember anything else I did outside. Didn't do much inside other than dishes, wash some bedding from the cat cage, and sweep, which you can't tell right now because of the leaves and mess the cats bring in on their fur. Melissa reminded me yesterday, or Monday, that I haven't been to the DMV to see about getting that new title, so I may do that today. If I do then I'll stop by the Walmart market for a few things on the way home.
Charlene, hope you don't have to work too hard today. The May day theme is great. My former coworker and I always try to be the first one to wish the other a happy month at the beginning of the each month. He has been winning lately by texting me early in the morning. I got him this time by texting just before 1am.
Tasty, enjoy your lunch.
Marlene, that's a good sale. My son went to a store yesterday that has an Amazon return bin and sells the things in there for $1 on Tuesdays I believe. He got some great deals, including a pet grooming kit that included a brush and nail clippers for $1. Can't get just the brush at a dollar store for a dollar now.

Good morning and Happy May! Wow, how is it May? Its 46 but heading towards the upper 50s. May even see the sun later.
Yesterday I did some plant rearranging and added soil to some of the cells. I could stand to do that to a few more. The marigolds are ready to be potted up but they will have to make it another 10 days or so. Then I will have time to deal with them. We’ll be gone until late Tuesday, then I work Wed, family commitments Th, work F. So next Saturday is plant day! Beyond plants I did a couple more loads of laundry, stripped the bed, and remade that, and worked on organizing the paint project mess. I went to the dmv but it was super busy so I said nope and kept going. Dh and I did do a 3 mile walk. In the afternoon I spent a little time outside. I got the plants sprayed and of course it rained last night so I can go do it again today. Dds team won 4/0 last night. Dd made a double play to end the game. She caught a smoking line drive and the girl who had been on first had taken off for 2nd and dd threw her out at 1.
Beyond dealing with plants I need to go get my tabs. I’ll go early today and will probably run thru aldis as well. I have a load of sheets to fold. I need to organize clothes and pack for our get a way as well. Dd has an away game (90 miles) so we decided we will stay home today.
Leslie-I have not seen that name so not sure on pronunciation and honestly even if I had the pronunciations can be different depending on how the parents want it. Believe me, I’ve seen some interesting ones. There was a family that had a ton of kids and all started with Qu. When they ran out of Q names they started spelling C/K names with a Qu. Those kids will go thru life correcting the pronunciation of their names.
Talking about rising insurance. Ours hasn’t really gone up but our taxes sure have. Our property tax has risen $5000 in the last 2 years!! Ouch!
Well I need to refill my coffee and typing is slow. Have a good day.

They pronounce like e-VON-e, if that makes sense. Hard to do it exactly here without the right long and short vowel sounds. But the emphasis is on the second syllable. It's not like Ebony like people would think. At least not the few times I've actually heard him say it. But I may be wrong. I guess I should ask him to be clear because online there are both pronunciations. I think if they go with what they have said then people won't mistake it for Ebony as easily.

Good morning, its 43° with something like 87% humidity. We are between weather systems and this first day of May brings warmer and drier skies. A few sun breaks are expected to help temperatures warm into the low 60s, but this stint of dry weather is short-lived. Clouds are expected to increase in the afternoon hours and rain returns this evening.
Yesterday I did laundry and don’t have any special plans for today. I can’t mow the lawn until it dries out.
Mary, my English Sister-in-Law often told me our weather here was a lot like the weather she grew up with in England.
Charlene, that’s a pretty meme, reminds me of the many May baskets I used to make. As kids the baskets were filled with candy and later in life I would fill them with flowers. I also hope your boss will find a replacement soon so you can have some time for yourself.
Tasty and Marlene, enjoy your lunch.
Leslie, interesting about the Amazon returns and wow that was a great deal your son found.
Melissa, sounds like you have planned another busy day.
Have a great day everyone.

My trip to the DMV was painless. There was hardly anyone in there and I hadn't even finished filling out the form when they called my number. I was surprised there wasn't a problem with my name change and taking my ex off. She did make a copy of the divorce papers I took stating that I was to have it. When she asked me if I wanted to pay an extra $20 to get the new title today or if I wanted them to mail it I told her that I have put it off for 20 years so I could wait a little longer. I was at the Walmart market just 40 minutes after I left my house. Of course that part of my trip wasn't as painless.
It is already in the 80s so I think after I finish my lunch I'll stick to inside chores.

Good afternoon, nice day out there. Temperature is 76° it is mostly sunny. We got some more rain last night. I sat on the balcony for awhile and listened to it. Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain.
I am in the process of making broccoli cheese soup. Most of it will go in the freezer, I used the last that was in the freezer.
Well I must get going, have a good day.

We are in the upper 70s and quite windy all of a sudden. I've had such a busy morning that I haven't had a chance to check in on the flats on the patio. Hopefully everything is okay. My day started out with me thankfully remembering to make mashed potato balls for a funeral luncheon this morning. They had to be at church by 10 and I had to be at the museum by 9:30. I cut it pretty close on everything because I still had to take the seedling flats outside before I left. A member of the board of trustees of the museum was meeting with us to see how she could help us. We are just one part of a multi-building complex. Our specialty is preserving the history of our community, while the other buildings are either specific to a particular family or just historic in nature and pertained to the area in general. The larger museum that is specific to a prominent family from the founding time of our city has garnered most of the attention thru the years. This particular board member wants to work with us and find ways to help us grow and prosper. She has experience in writing grant applications and has some ideas that could be very helpful to us. It was a very productive meeting! She told us that a reporter from a large newspaper in the area will be on the grounds on Monday afternoon to do a story about us and what we do. The exposure ought to be wonderful. Next I had to mail the bills I paid yesterday as well as hit up Kroger for beer for David. He texted while I was at the museum that he wants to come mow tonight. Given the forecast, that seems like a stellar idea. While he is here, he will put our window air conditioners in for us. We're to warm up next week so having them up and running is another great idea. Of course, I couldn't just buy beer while at the the store. DH was out of fruit and I hit a good sale on cereal. I wonder what he would have done if I hadn't bought that cereal. As it was, he decided he needed that with the ice cream I also bought him today. Nice lunch, eh? LOL! I had no more than gotten home and began making room for the A/C units when Jerry rang the doorbell. He had made peanut butter cookies and wanted to share some with us. They were tasty and just what I needed to finish off my lunch. I am tired and could really use a nap. Not sure if I will give that a try or not. I think I better check the seedlings first just in case I need to bring them in to the garage. I will come back later to catch up with folks. My brain is a little full right now. BBL!

Good afternoon all! 89°and sunny. I was up in the wee hours. Stayed awake a few hours, then dropped back to sleep in the recliner for about an hour.
I went to aerobics and then a shopping trip the next town over. WM, BigLots, DT, WM(again but here in Sebring) and Publix. Whew! We're having a small bridal shower for Donna so I wanted to pickup my gift and some decorations. Would you believe it? No one has any decorations or wrapping paper for bridal showers!!!! Not one paper wedding bell! Not the two WMs, not DT, nobody! I'm lucky I found a card!
I found a wooden frame with a heart inside. I decided to embroider the bride and Brooke's name and the date. I hope I can find a chart for a small sized alphabet.
Church prayer meeting tonight but choir is over so no practice.
Have a great evening.
Melissa, I did stay awake for stitching Monday night.

Marnee= I say it rains enough to keep the grass green, what part did she live in? i lived 20 miles from London 5 miles from Heathrow airport, she might know that. Mary, my late Sister-in-Law was from Birkenhead, England, believe at that time Birkenhead was part of Cheshire, and is close to Liverpool and over 200 miles from London. As a child during the war, she was evacuated to Wales where she spent three years of her life before returning to England. I had just turned 4 years old when she married my brother so as far back as I can remember she was always a part of our family.

Good evening,
I am really running late tonight & I'm tired. My brain is probably as muddled as Karen's. Sometimes I let myself get overwhelmed when there's no need for it. It will all get done sooner or later, always does.
Worked today, that went well & all done so don't have to go tomorrow.
We were mostly sunny all day with a high in the mid 80s. No rain but I hit a couple of sprinkles on the way home.
When I got home I did a couple loads of laundry & sat down long enough for some lunch & pay a few bills. Then it was a decision of what to do next.
Since it was already late afternoon I decided to go ahead & put what MG Garden Soil I had left on my Angel Bed. But before I did that I had to pull grass & weeds. That took longer than I thought. Two bags of MG was not enough to do any more than sprinkle it around. But it looks better. I'll need to put Bone Meal at the very back & then mulch the whole thing. I'm hoping to get my Foxglove seedlings planted before then.
Speaking of Foxglove this bed has one Foxglove in it. That one Foxglove has survived the tree falling on it, scraping from the Bobcat & run over by the bulldozer. It now has buds!!
Another piece of Good Garden News concerns my Magnolia. The big tree fell across it & I lost half of it. There are healthy suckers growing from just below the area that split. They will/should grow up & around the part that got broke off & fill it in again.
Temps are dropping Friday & rain in the forecast for the weekend. Maybe I'll go Friday & see who has what as far as mulch, garden soil, etc; before it rains & all the bags get waterlogged.
