Morning! It's rainy and warm this morning. Chicken dinner was great last night. Tonight I'm making Aldi cutlets/eggplant Provolone with ravioli and roasted vegetables. I got the files organized and some of the desk junk disposed of. The beat goes on today!! Enjoy your day! Waving!

Marlene Johnson I am fine. Did not get any of the storm just rain. It hit lots of homes and the little town of Minden got hit hard. Chuck who does all my work and his son Jason it really hit Jason town in Minden. Jason just had shingles to repair and of course he is helping everyone in Minden to clean up. I don't get on the computer much anymore.

Good morning. It is so good to know that Marlene is safe and well. A foggy 48 here at 7 am but will warm up to about 60 later and we might even see the sun. Not sure how the day will play out other than that I will be out for lunch and the weather is decent so hubby can golf. Have a great day.

We really enjoyed the middle school choir concert last night. I had to smile when part of the program -- songs from The Sound of Music, Carousel, Oliver!, and Alexander's Ragtime Band -- was introduced as Broadway musical selections "from the 1900s". We're so last century. 😄
Last night's dinner was soup & sandwiches -- grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken noodle soup since I didn't have any tomato soup in the pantry. It's on the list now! I added some Better than Bouillon to the soup to give it a little more flavor.

Good early morning everyone. 5:45 here, supposed to be sunny/ cloudy today. Ann, your choice if dinner sounds yummy, as usual. Keep on, keeping on. You’ll get everything done by moving day, you’ll see. Chris, thank you for your update on Marlene. So glad to hear she’s safe. I’ve slowed down on being on the computer lately too. Maybe because both hands don’t work as well as they should. As ongoing process, nothing I can do about it. Good to hear you had a good time yesterday, now back to work for you. How is Dan when you go away for a day like that? Is he ok on his own? Tasty, enjoy your lunch out today. DH has an early medical appointment today, we have to be out of here by 7:15. No sure what we’ll be doing for the rest of the day. Emr, glad you enjoyed the concert. That’s the kind of music we like too. We also had soup and sandwich for supper. Tonight will be ribs on the grill, hopefully. Otherwise they’ll be done in the oven. This has taken me over half hour to type, so I better get on to something else if I want to leave on time. Bbl. Jan

Good morning
Out and back. This morning I talked to a new full time resident and her playful 8 year old dog. No Mary or Emily this morning and Mandy was watching for them too. Now I have a load of laundry swishing around in the washer. Not much else on the to do list but I am going to make a run to the $tree for a couple small containers. If Annie is in the mood I may let her loose on the floors. There are no church meetings today so I am free to be bored.
Elza, I would have loved to have seen those plays. I was in so many musicals when in high school, I loved to sing. Now my ole lady voice has moved in.
Jan, I can relate to the pain caused by being on the computer. We have to adapt to the changes our body makes. Not liking it one bit either. HUGS.
Lunch will be mini pigs in a blanket, supper will be sloppy joes and french fries. Finally meals are planned for a day. :)

to all! On this 1st day of the new month, our local station announced not only food holidays for today (National Salad Day and National Chocolate Parfait Day), but it also mentioned several month-long food celebrations: American Cheese Month, National Hamburger Month, National Egg Month, and National Salsa Month. Other than the eggs in the pancake batter, none are on the menu here today. This evening, we will be doing breakfast for dinner---pancakes and sausage patties.
Our neighbor (Jim) on the street behind me stopped as he was walking his dog (Ned) this morning. Very nice man who lost his wife a few years back to cancer, and he has since battled it himself and forced to retire from work. They had no children, but devoted their life to their dogs who were treated royally. Awhile back, DH and I suggested he might want to volunteer at the Humane Society to get out of the house, be with other people and dogs. Happily, Jim wanted us to know that he's feeling a bit stronger and therefore has indeed signed up to volunteer one or two (depending on if they need him and how he feels) days each week. Also, he said he's seriously considering doing foster weekend boarding of a dog so Ned has some company too. Couldn't be happier (DH will be too) that Jim is feeling better and he's now going to keep himself busy rather than sitting in the house.
It seems that the young renters next door to the east of us have moved out overnight. As DH went to put his things in the truck this morning before he left, he ran back in to say that it looked like the house was empty. In watering the fruit trees in the backyard this morning, I can see right through the house with the window covering open wide, no furnishing inside, so they are gone. I must admit, we'll not miss their loud all-night parties, but now we'll wonder what next will move in. Since we moved here back in 1991, there have been 4 different families (out of a total of 8 families) that have moved out in the overnight hours (two of which the FBI knocked on our door asking for any info. we might be able to share). OMG-if we only knew. An older couple did buy the house at one point and were the best neighbors, but both died and the man that purchased the house and rents it out, only cares about one thing---$$$$! Oh well, time will tell...
Ann, you are moving along and headed in the right direction. I'm sure some days it can feel overwhelming ad like an endless job, but it will all come together by moving day. Take each day as it comes.
Tasty, enjoy your lunch out. Nice that your weather is cooperating, and DH will be able to play golf.
Chris, thanks for passing on the news about Marlene. Nice to read that you had fun yesterday on your outing.
Elza, I had a good laugh at the musical selection from the 1900's. Guess DH and I are pretty old folks, as that would have been a enjoyable night of music for both of us.
Jan, hope DH gets good results with his doctor appointment this morning and then afterwards that the two of you will find something special to fill your afternoon with.
High today is to reach around 87*; currently 83* and sunny. Will go for my bike ride shortly, but before I must empty the dishwasher. Waving---I'll try to get back here later. Lori

I am debating whether to warm something up for lunch or wait a bit longer. Hate to be in the middle of eating when the house cleaner is here. Wow. here she is! I'm having spaghetti and garlic bread for supper. I'm looking for lots of garlic butter on crusty bread. I keep trying to find some but it's usually skimpy on the best part. I have tried making my own but can't get it just right either. Again, if that's the biggest problem I have, I'm pretty lucky, I know. Wishing you all a happy day.

Good afternoon ladies, And gents if we have any lurkers out there! It is currently 82 and should be sunny and warm until about 3 a.m.. Then we are in for more storms. I think the worst will be north of us though. We do not have any problems with drainage where we are, but about 15 miles away, areas next to a river are flooding.
Chris, hope work goes well today.
Enjoy lunch out today, Tasty. I ate over at the care center. They had tempura chicken, with rice and stir fry veggies.
Lori, I did not have chocolate parfait, but did have a scoop of chocolate pudding for dessert, with some whipped cream on top. Does that count? Enjoy the peace and quiet from next door while it lasts. I will say a prayer that you get nice, quiet and decent neighbors.
I am thawing a rack of ribs for supper tonight. I will probably just cook them in the oven. DH's grill is falling apart and he never knows if it will work or not! Maybe a new grill for Father's Day?
Elza, I would have loved the concert as I adore show tunes!
Mamma, glad you got to meet a new resident. I would imagine she enjoyed meeting you.
I woke at 5 and was feeling wide awake, so made my coffee, and baked some muffins. When DH left at 7 I went back to bed, so took my nap from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m.! Not much on the agenda today except folding clothes when they come out of the dryer. I went over to the shop and grabbed supplies then headed to the care center and priced furniture. I also got smaller items out of the storage sheds and took it to the shop. I sure hope the furniture sale goes well tomorrow. The heavy should stop by 11, so hopefully we will have a nice turnout for the sale. It will be nice to have all the large items gone.
Waving to everyone not mentioned. Hope you enjoy a wonderful day.

DH has been home 1 1/2 hours but just came into the house about 20 minutes ago. It just so happens that the homeowner/landlord is over at the house next door with his handyman surveying the damage left from the renters. DH said Tom wished we would have called him regarding the renters, but DH told him we didn't have his number. Right away he wrote it down for DH and said in the future, if ever there is any concerns regarding anything, call him, day or night. DH mentioned how he had to call the police because of the loud noise---Tom said he was so sorry but glad we called. Tom told DH that he got tons of calls from the HOA regarding the renters parking cars, trucks, and motorcycles all over the front of the house (DH told him they parked between the two homes as well); Tom said he spoke to them and they just laughed and called him all kinds of nasty names. At that point, Tom said that he told them he would not be renewing their lease when it expired next year; he said he'd like to take them to court for breaking the lease, but it will cost a fortune, and he doesn't know if he will or not. DH said the men were bricklayers or something as they have bricks everywhere in the bushes, from yard, and in the garage, all the lanai screens are broken as well as the lanai door. Inside has a lot of issues too according to Tom, but he didn't name them to DH. BTW, the house is already rented out; Tom said he has known the man for years and doesn't think there will be further problems, but again told DH, call, day or night.
Have already decided that tomorrow I will make a pot of some kind of soup since I noticed none in the freezer. Won't be dinner tomorrow, but placed back into the freezer for those days we need something quick and easy. Right now, it's looking like country ribs for tomorrow night.
Waving, Lori

Forgot to mention Tammy, yes, I think your chocolate pudding is close enough, so lets count it! Sounds really delicious and I wouldn't mind a scoop myself! Lori

Elza, what a nice selection of music for the concert last night. Hope everything went well for hubby this morning Jan and that you found something fun to do afterwards. Planning meals is a big positive for you mamma. Did you follow thru? Take a day with no meetings to be a day to pamper yourself! It will be salad day here for us Lori, mainly because I had a lovely lunch and don't want much tonight. Hubby is always happy with a salad so I have some chicken out to bake and fresh salad ingredients as we were out. I hope your new neighbours will be nice. Hard to get in touch with the owner if you don't have his phone #. Your supper is one of my faves, Helen. If I could get there in time I'd invite myself. Hope you can get rid of all the big furniture Tammy - not always the easiest thing to sell. You work hard for the store and seem to do very well. The meeting I was at today was about our aging brains, what is normal aging and what is not. Very interesting. Lunch was chicken cordon bleu with potatoes and salad followed by a lovely trifle - no wonder I'm not hungry for supper.
