**Good morning! It got up to 74° yesterday afternoon. It was so nice! Right now it's 55° but cloudy. According to the news we may get a thunderstorm in about an hour!!! Supper was good last night. Tonight we are having oven-fried skinless chicken drumsticks. I've made it before so I know it's good. The only change I made was adding the smoked paprika and curry to the yogurt instead of to the flour mixture. I use a paper towel to yank the skin off of the drumsticks. www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/oven-fried-chicken-drumsticks/The electrician got approval of his electrical work yesterday afternoon. Today the fire chief will be inspecting the detectors. Going to be working in the front room today going through files and desk junk. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

A quick good morning friends. I am headed off to Boston for the day. There are a group of us going to Encore Casino. I am planning on heading to the Aquarium and the Boston Science Museum. I will spend my $20 that they are giving us and then head out for the A and SM. There are quite a few that want to go to the Aq.
Won't be home until about 8pm or so. Hope everyone has a great day!

Have fun, Chris 😊. Bet you have more fun than Ann will, cleaning out the files in the desk. I'm just having a quick breakfast before heading out to canning. BBL!

A lovely morning here so far. Temps right about 60 with a high about 75. It is humid but not too bad.
Ann, we have a chance of thunderstorms later on but looks like they will be scattered. So we might not see anything and that won't bother me.
Chris, have a great time. Your destinations sound a lot more interesting to me!
Tasty, I'm sure you will have a busy day too. I have been enjoying a new-to-me jam that I found at a local store -- FROG jam. The name comes from the ingredients -- fig, raspberry, orange, and ginger. It is sweet and spicy and I really like it.
Waving to everybody ~

FROG is one of our most popular jams, Elza. You should see the look on little boys faces when they see it 😮.

Good morning A comfortable 67º already this morning. Gonna be a warm one too, as it will be from here on in. I'm so happy to have the a/c fixed and functioning properly. From the way it's running now it was not running right when we moved in either, just not as bad. I'll make sure to call the same people to check the unit again next year, they did a great job. Usually by evening I have had to turn the a/c down to get the house to cool down and then again before bed time. Not last night, I just turned it down only half an hour before bed and not as far down as I have been doing. The unit really pushes out cold air now. :D I hope it runs as good when the outside temp is in the 100's.
This morning I'll load the tires onto the back of the golf cart and head down the road to the tire shop. It's not far but still nervous driving it on a public road. I'll say a prayer before heading out and all will go well. My cart has brake lights, signal lights, emergency flashers and a license plate, (although the plate is not mine, it came with the cart). I'm not sure if I'll be home in time for bible study so I may just wait with b.s. until the next session. Who knows.
Yesterday I dropped Dish Network. For a good month I kept track of how much I watched on Dish and it was not worth what I paid each month. The cost to discontinue with the contract was way cheaper than to keep paying each month for 16 more months. I watch my dozen streaming channels all the time. Then I have shows that I like to watch and not all the garbage on satellite that I never watch. Thanks to my dear son for connecting me to all his streaming apps a year ago. I hope I've learned.
Lunch may be a quick sandwich and supper will be a corn dog and small lettuce salad or coleslaw. Not very exciting, but good enough for me. :)

Mamma, I saw your comment on the Keurig coffee being expensive. If you have a Staples store near you near you (or I think you can order online for delivery) these look like a good deal. I just had a visit from Melo, the therapy dog. It's a good name for her. She's a mix of golden and Australian Sheepdog. Not too common but a sweet animal. Birdy

Good morning one and all! On this last day of April our food holidays are: National Raisin Day, National Oatmeal Cookie Day, as well as National Bubble Tea Day.
Didn't sleep the best last night, but I have had plenty of energy this morning. Going to leave for a bike ride shortly, but thought I'd stop here first. Was hoping somebody heard back from Marlene, or even better that Marlene herself stopped in, but I didn't see any post. Will keep her in my prayers.
Ann, hope the fire chief finds everything okay on his visit today. You asked if my Zucchini meatballs were vegetarian---no they are not, they contain ground beef. Finished them off yesterday in a brown sugar and balsamic vinegar glaze I made---we sure did enjoy them.
Chris, sounds like fun is in your forecast for today! Looking forward to hearing all about it.
Tasty, so what is the canning group making today? You may have mentioned already, and I missed it, but when will your group begin selling your items this year?
Elza, yes, FROG jam is good! If you do see the rain today in your neighborhood, send it down (so dry down here. None in our forecast through mid-May here in our area, but inland and the east coast are seeing some.
As usually, nothing exciting happening here. DH and I will ride over to Fresh Market later this afternoon where we will pick up chicken and ground beef that is on sale today. Dinner tonight will be leftover chicken chow mien. Got to go... Lori

Hi Birdy! Melo sounds like a beauty---glad she stopped in for a visit this morning. May you have a beautiful day my friend!
mamma, I forgot to mention that we have the little plastic containers and paper filters for our Keurig---we fill them up with our own coffee and brew those---leaded for him, decaff for me. Cheaper than the pods they sell in the store. That being said, DH also buys pods for the Keurig for himself as he drinks a ton of coffee compared to me. Gets them from Amazon and for the amount he gets and the price, it's a good deal. Lori

Thanks Birdy. I can make a whole pot of coffee for around 40¢ and a Keurig k-cup is around 40 to 50¢ per cup. That is more of what I mean, it's a comparison cost. I drink two to three cups of coffee in the morning, half caff, and then I'm done with coffee for the day. But I like to treat myself to a Keurig now and then.
Lori, I'm going to have to look up what Frog jam is. LOL I used to make my own K-cups, but I found it to be no cheaper in the long run.

Hello All. Had to go out this morning to get labs done for next week's doctor appointment. It was pretty and sunny. Looks overcast now and I did hear mention of rain this afternoon. A nice afternoon shower would be so good. Lori, Wish you'd get some rain soon. I remember crunchy grass after long periods of no rain in Florida. Sure makes the afternoons hotter. Mamma, I should really shut my cable down, too, as I never turn on the tv. I do everything on my laptop now. DD/DSIL come and hook things up for both. I say thank you very much and am happy none the wiser. I have some ham pieces that need used so will have scalloped potatoes with ham. Marinated brussel sprouts on the side. Elza, I'll be trying that pickle ketchup soon, Will let you know if I like it. Have fun in Boston, Chris! Sweet dreams all

Lori, to answer your question about what we made today: Strawberry jam, strawberry rhubarb jam, blueberry jam, spirited bumbleberry jam, lime curd and ploughman's chutney for a total of just under 100 jars.
So, a fun morning 😊.

Hello, I am at loose ends today. I had so little to do to get the food ready, it seems weird. House is clean, dishes are done. I could manage to do a load of laundry. Supper will be easy also. I am using the leftover pot pie stew to make an actual pot pie.
Have a fun day Chris.
Busy times for you Ann.
Helen, looks like your area will be getting rain quite a lot in the coming week.
I saw that Marlene responded to Elaine's post over on facebook. She said she is fine, just had rain, no bad storms.
Waving to everyone. Make it a great day!
