Good morning. Where has the month of April gone? It sure disappeared fast! Early to bed last night (8.30) and early to rise this morning (4.30) but I had a good sleep so won't complain too much altho I may need a nap later š“ . The guy is coming back with a new drum for my dryer sometime today so while I wait for him I have a long list of things that I can do. We did get out to golf yesterday but the weather was not great. The morning had been lovely but after lunchtime it was cloudy and windy. I played only 9 holes - the cold was getting to me. The others carried on but hubby quit a few holes later when the rain was really coming down. We met up with our friends who had the same experience and had a quick supper before coming home. Happy Monday š.

Good morning as the sun is rising. 63Ā° and sunshine expected. It will be warm enough for aerobics at 9:30.
Yesterday was an uneventful Sunday other than Pastor's announcement of his retirement the end of this Month. June seems to be his month for activity. His birthday is in June, he lost his wife in June, his mother last June and now his retirement. I don't know if his wedding anniversary is June but I would be curious.
Tasty, sorry about the rainout on your golf.
Have a great Pre-Tuesday all!

Good morning. It's 57 but going to 84 today. I want to go to Lowe's and pick up more garden soil to put in the holes when I plant the tomatoes and peppers. Not sure if I'll plant today though. Might leave them in their pots a little longer. I need to water a little also since we've only had a sprinkle.
Yesterday went well. It was only family but one niece and her husband came. They really liked the kittens but have enough animals so resisted the temptation to take one. Her husband warmed up to the fluffy solid grey male and the kitten snuggled up to his neck. I had dropped them all of at oldest son's house first and after DGD#2 spent some time with them she brought them to son#2's house one at a time so all the noise wouldn't scare them. She decided on the short haired girl. Oddly enough everyone liked her while I was partial to the boy. She's a light grey with some white and orange and the tips of her ears are orange. She seems to be fiesty and curious, but sweet. DDIL talked me in to leaving all of them because she thought she knew people who might want the others and if not she will take them to a good shelter. She thinks they are so cute they are bound to be adopted. Today Hydrox, the momma cat, is looking in the cage and calling for her babies.
DGS and GF got a few things they didn't have so are pretty much set for the arrival of GGD in roughly 3 weeks.
DGD#4's honors choir concert was good. They did a great job for elementary kids.
I'm having issues typing so I'll post this and come back.

Good morning. 34 and only going to 42 with a 50% chance of rain all day. Had rain on and off yesterday and overnight.
I spent most of the day on the couch with an ice pack or heating pad. Advil would help for a bit. I took a nap mid afternoon then watched baseball. I did move some water pails around and got the upstairs vacuumed. I also cleaned the upstairs bathroom. Today I plan to finish this painting if it kills me! I am so sick of the mess. I need to go to town for groceries as well. Iāll get that done first I guess.
Leslie-Glad that one of the gks got a kitten and that ddil will help find them homes. Good the kids got some nice stuff and will be set for baby.
I was also up at 4:30 like Tasty and Mary but I went back to sleep about 5:45 and slept until 7:20. Much more reasonable time to get up.
Wishing everyone a great day.

Good morning, the sun is shining and it is already 75Ā° so I had best get a walk in soon.
I froze my bean soup yesterday and will do the meatloaf today. I left out enough soup to have another bowl today.
I went through my clothes and put the winter stuff away until next year and got the summer stuff in line. Found some tops that I cannot wear so will get them ready to donate.
Need to get on my walk so have a good day.

Over the last few days I've gotten a little over 2" of welcomed rain. The rain has come slowly and in spurts allowing the ground to absorb the moisture. I'm thinking about advertising for some goats or sheep to rent to graze on the lawns that have not been mowed since last fall. Today I take my car into the shop to repair a dent. I've decided not to run it through insurance since my rates will go up; mainly because of my age. Also I need to call the person who shingled by house a year ago because there is a leak around the fireplace chimney. I keep telling myself things could be worse - look at the wars around the world. It is sunny and much more pleasant than the weekend when it was humid as heck. I think we will still reach 80 today and will probably have storms tonight, but for now, all is well. I got an early start on getting the flats outside once I looked at the hourly forecast and realized I could get them out for at least the morning and early afternoon. It's a bit breezy but nothing over the top. I must have fewer flats this year, or I have just configured them a bit differently because I was able to get them all under the more sturdy umbrella. With any sort of breeze, the other one tends to spin a bit. Doing it this way, I also don't have to walk as far. Win/win on that! After I was done with that, I decided to not waste the decent weather. I gathered up my gardening tools and kneeler with the intention of tackling the thistles in the rose bed. I ended up doing more than that. I weeded and trimmed the rose bushes of their dead canes. Now I have a better sense of the space I have for planting once it is safe to do so. I'm feeling the muscle aches from scrubbing DH's bathroom floor yesterday, so I am going to hold off on doing any of the other beds for now. It sure feels good to step back and see a gardening task accomplished! I was excited to see that the rose campion I grew last year ought to bloom fairly soon. I think I even planted it in a good spot - in front of some irises. Also, an iris I bought two years ago, which bloomed that year but not last year, does look like it will bloom this year. I'm going to really enjoy that. Sadly, I don't see the stemless evening primrose coming up. It came from a good friend who passed away some time ago. DH reminded me that sometimes it comes up and other years it won't. I've given up on it before only to have it show up another time. Since I don't think I'm up to more outdoor chores, I believe the rest of today will be tackling indoor stuff like paying bills and renewing magazine subscriptions for DM and DH. Laundry is never done, so that needs to be worked on. Tasty, better golfing days are ahead. I hope everything goes smoothly with getting the new drum in your dryer. By now, Wendy, I am sure you have gotten in your aerobics. That has to feel good. I'm happy to hear that your kitten situation went the way it did, Leslie. Nice that your DGD#2 found a fur baby she liked. Also pretty terrific is your DDIL offering to help re-home the others. It will take Hydrox a little time to get used to the babies being gone, but it is for the best. By the way, I love that name for her. Do the kids have a name picked out for the baby? One that they will share? DSon and DDIL have a name selected, but they won't be telling anyone what it is until he is born. Our little love nugget will hopefully arrive about 3 weeks after yours. DDIL is 34 weeks this week. I'm glad the honors concert went well. Mary M., I like the way you think! We can't ever have too many plants. So sorry, Melissa, that you are feeling poorly! I hope you begin to feel better soon. In the end, and after the painting is done, it will have been worth it - I hope. It would be nice if you were able to dry out, Dave. Being too wet is never a good thing. Carol, thank you for the reminder about going through clothes! I need to do that here since there is a church rummage sale in June. In the past, they didn't take clothing but this year they will. I think, Mary, you may get a little warmer than us today. Getting as warm as we are, making sure we water early is a good thing. I understand the concept of considering sheep or goats to take care of the lawn, Marlene. David mows when he can, but in the meantime we get to looking pretty shaggy. Maybe I will tell DH we need a goat or sheep for the lawn. LOL! I'm glad you got the rain you needed in a helpful way. Well, I need to move on. Bills and checks don't take care of themselves. Have a marvelous Monday!

Good afternoon all! 86Ā° at our high and sunny. Perfect day to play with water. After aerobics, my friend Ruth needed assistance with a property whose occupant has been unable to come down due to her husband's illness. So I helped her rake and trim.
Then to play with water. My neighbor who I share the driveway and carport with is out of town so I cleaned and washed my golf cart and then my car.
After which, I scrubbed my patio to get the dirt and filth off from the oak trees. Before I had the patio coated, the squigglies and pollen turned the white patio a caramel color but with this coating I can get it right off with a little Dawn and water.
I have Zoom tonight with my NY stitching friends if I don't fall asleep with the needle in my hands.
Hope everyone is enjoying your day!

Karen, yes they have told us her first name at least. At one time he said she would have 2 middle names, one being my middle name, which was my mother's first name and is DGD#5's and #7's middle name. But I don't know if that has changed. I guess they wanted a name that would represent her African American heritage for her first name but it is spelled a little different and I get 2 different pronunciations in doing a search online. I'm sure she will have to correct some people along the way. I have never heard of anyone with the name so not sure where it came from. I haven't asked him about the middle names since he first mentioned them.

We had to get used to Mac's surname being the same DDIL's even though the kids were married at the time of his birth. DDIL's father only had girls and they wanted that family name to go on. There are hundreds of family members in DH's grandparents branch alone with our last name, so I don't think it felt like much of an issue to DSon at all. It was weird at first, but Mac is very clearly DSon's son and I don't believe there was any disrespect intended. I am curious about what Dragon's birth name will actually be. LOL!

Good evening,
We've been sunny & warm all day with temps close to Leslie's & Wendys. We were 72* at 10AM & at one point the car's gauge showed 87.
So, Leslie are you going to tell us what 1st name they are planning or wait until she is born & tell us the whole thing. One of my Gr. nieces has 3 middle names!! Maddie has the same middle name as me & Max has my DH's 1st name as a middle. Shame, he didn't live long enough to meet his GS or GD. He wanted GKs more than I did at the time. LOL But he did know one was on the way.
Karen, never heard of that name "arrangement" before but it makes sense.
They do it entirely different in Egypt. If I remember right, the male child can carry either his Father's last name or the maternal Grandfather. So Marianne's DB has a different last name than his sisters.
Most of my day was taken up with grocery shopping & errands, inc a trip home & back out again.
Leslie, I hope you can find some Garden Soil. My Lowe's was totally out today & everybody else is much more expensive. Since I can't find anything I want this year. I'm giving up; going to use Bone Meal & Mulch & call it good.
The vinegar spray I used yesterday seems to be killing the grass in the d'way. That's a nice surprise.
I was going to cut the front yard this evening but not in the mood. I did go out & band up the spent daffodil foliage. Working the next 2/3 days. It will get done when I get to it.
Everybody was up at 4:30 this morning? I, on the other hand, had trouble sleeping last night & it was just about that time that I finally fell asleep.
