Good morning gang. So much for a warm and sunny weekend. Cloudy and dull is what we have right now and rain is likely later. Oh well.
Laundry and some regular Saturday chores are on the agenda. The rest of the day I'll take as it comes. Enjoy your day, however you spend it.

There was 1.1" of rain in my gauge. Today will be quiet and tomorrow another inch is expected. No use washing the car. Off to breakfast with 2 friends. Marlene

Good morning grey and cloudy and rain sometime today. Yesterday was so nice and sunny but cool. On the east side of the house was about 10-15* difference from the front of the house so I worked on the front. I have 2 gardens that need to get cleaned up so not to bad.
I'm going to plant some lilies that are sprouting in the bag and whatever else I can done before it rains. I got all the seedlings out and haven't checked them yet this morning. I'm sure it's fine.

Good morning. 44 and light rain. We had some heavy rain last night. I got another 10 gallons of water collected so I can water plants. Thats top of my list before doing the final coat of paint then cleaning my house. I probably needed an inside day to catch up on stuff. Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Good morning everyone. It was 47º when I got up, but is already 55º and going to mid 60s, however no sun predicted for today. We got ½ inch of rain yesterday and thru the night. More predicted for tonight and tomorrow.
Yesterday's lunch with DD was SO enjoyable! She arranged for both DGD's to meet us as well since they were both in that town having their hair done. Our lunch date lasted 2½ hours. Lots of chatting and laughing.
Around 5 last evening I heard the fire truck, so I looked out the window to see where it was going. Much to my surprise it was in my front boulevard...WTH? I wondered if my house was on fire and I didn't know it. About then I saw the fireman in the passenger seat point north to a house where smoke was rolling out of it's windows. I watched all of the excitement for about 1½ hours. Luckily, there was a fire in the living room electric fireplace and they were able to get it put out before it spread. The people that live there had to stay somewhere else last night since they broke the windows out of the living room to extinguish the fire. There is smoke and water damage, but the house is not a loss. The firemen were able to find the dog trapped in the house and got him out safely.
This morning I am taking Curt to dollar general. Lair was going to go with us, but now Dale is coming for the weekend, so he will take Lair to Dollar Fresh in the neighboring town instead.
Tasty...Thanks for opening. Glad the gardeners were able to find shrubs and someone to help plant them. Will you be adding perennials and annuals as well? Glad you had a fun breakfast with friends yesterday.
Marlene...Wishing you a nice breakfast with friends this morning.
Sandy....Sounds like those lilies are needing to be planted. They should bloom for you this year I hope.
Melissa....My rain barrels are full and what a good feeling. They were empty most of last summer and I missed the rain water. Sounds like the girls played well yesterday even though they lost their 1st game. The other scores were impressive.
Happy Saturday to all. Charlene

Good Morning,
We are cloudy with a 20% chance of rain; 60*
Marina was fun last night but not many people there for some reason & it was a good band. Sometimes packed, sometimes not. My hearing is a little better but still can't hear well. I wore an earplug anyway so the band sounded "funny"
I want to get those leaves raked & mulched so probably should go get started on that in case it decides to rain.
Glad to hear all's well with Leroy & Connie.

Good morning, its 48° breezy and overcast this morning. Our forecast indicates soggy and wet weather for this weekend. Gray skies and scattered rain showers are expected to keep temperatures below average through the weekend. Afternoon highs will only climb into the mid to upper 50s.
Our family supper last night was enjoyable. Spaghetti is my great niece’s favorite so, we had spaghetti, salad and tiramisu cake for dessert. After supper we played some rummikub. Precious was overjoyed to see GN again as Lila is her favorite person. Lots of great memories too as for many years Lila stayed overnight every Friday night. She is in high school now and growing up so fast.
Yesterday we checked out a New Season Market it’s a neighborhood grocery store new to our area. We really liked it and will go there again.
Charlene, oh my that fire in your neighborhood had to be scary. Glad no one was hurt and they also got the dog out safely.
Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon. Just passing through. It was 30° here this morning with some sun. Thursday work was a bit rough only that on job took 4 hours that was suppose to take 2. Yesterday was a breeze basically just walk in and walk out. I have been on the computer none stop since 6:30 this morning doing Lions' work. Making progress but I don't see much chance of finishing everything on that list that I made better than a week ago.
Have a great day.

Good afternoon all! 84°and sunny. Our high for today. I went to the blueberry festival this morning. They need another name though because blueberries were about 2% of the festival.
We went early so we went through all the vendors quickly. Very few sold anything related to blueberries. You would think that the food vendors would get creative and sell a blueberry-something. A muffin, cookie, donut, taco, waffle, burger on a blueberry bun. Something or other! One place did have blueberry shortcake. Cool whip, cake, and frozen blueberries.
Afterwards we went out for lunch and planned to go blueberry picking this Thursday. Then I'll make my own blueberry something.
Last night I went to the movies. Unsung Hero was good. A true story about the music group Of King and Country's parents' love story. I enjoyed it.
All this social activity, I'm exhausted. I doubt I'll do much else today. Hope you're enjoying your Saturday.

We've had on and off rain for several hours now. A little thunder passed on through quite early this morning. I was all set to take the flats outside when it began raining again. Radar looks like it isn't going to be anything severe, so the plan is still to get the seedlings outside today and under the patio umbrellas. It is time! Once the flats are outside, we will take the tables down and put them up in the garage for overnight so I am not hauling plants up and down the step into the house more than once. I can hardly believe it is time for this already. I think today I am going to take DH and his movies to see what we can sell. I'm tired of the fight about movies. If this seems like a good outlet to move more of them, that will be a blessing. Other than that, my only other plan is to go to church tonight so I'm free for whenever DSon and family are open for a video chat. Things are getting real with the new baby coming so soon. It's been a while since we've seen DDIL. I'll bet she is very ready to have little Dragon enter the world officially. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pretty sure I am scratching the idea of taking the seedlings outside now. In the time I was talking to DSis#3 (for 2 hours), the wind picked up big time and the sun is playing peek-a-boo with me. I had the umbrellas up for a short period of time, but by the time I was done dumping the water in the heated bird bath that sat on the one table I realized that I couldn't have the plants outside today. Very disappointing. The wind is way too strong for the babies, some of which are pretty tall and spindly. The balsam and dahlias would break in a heartbeat with this wind. Plan B was to just sit them on the chairs next to the house, but then the sun came out blazing. Today is not the day for the plants to start hardening off. Maybe tomorrow. I also don't see us going to sell DH's movies today given the windy conditions. Had I known it would be like this, I never would have gotten DH's hopes up. Tomorrow is possible, but not until after we chat with the kids. DH brought in the mail and I saw that we got a mailing pertaining to an event on the museum complex grounds his former company is doing to celebrate Jack the same day we are doing the renaming of the museum. With very different time frames, this will be complicated. I think the director got things mixed up and didn't tell either party what the other was doing. I asked Jerry about this when I saw him at the museum on Wednesday since he works closely with the director and also worked at Modern Woodmen with Jack and DH. He told me the Hometown Hero Award was going to Jack's widow. While technically true, the award is for Jack, not his wife as he mentioned to me. It will be hard for us to set up for our event at 1 with people maybe hanging around (or not) after the 11 ceremony. I'm currently group texting the other volunteers who seem optimistic that we can work around this little timing snafu. The director is out of the country on vacation now, so he gets to miss out on all the fun. LOL! He's a nice guy and we like him fine, but this is totally a screwup on his part. I am going to just get this posted so I can work on something of value around here. All I have accomplished so far is watering the seedlings in anticipation of them going outside, stripping and remaking my bed, and doing a load of laundry. Whoopee! Wishing everyone a sensational Saturday!

Good evening,
It turned out to be cloudy & chilly all day with a little sprinkle around 5ish.
I did get my planned yard work done before that. All the leaves in the back are now raked & mulched, but I did a dumb thing. I usually use a hoe to get the leaves out from between the house & the GH. I's a very narrow space, less than a foot so I have to really reach in there to get them out. For some reason instead of the hoe I grabbed the 3 prong rake(cultivator?)got it snagged on the bottom part of the GH & tore a hole in it. I don't think it will hurt anything . The cover has an extended bottom that lays flat on the ground. (Picture an L shape)& that is what I snagged. It's almost up against the house & pretty protected from the elements. I laid a short board over it anyway.
I also cut the rest of that section of the yard & trimmed around my pavers & swept them off,so that part is all done & back to normal.
After that I worked on the d'way bed a bit & the actual d'way next to it. I pulled tons of BES from places I didn't want them. They can be a little invasive. Well, actually more than a little. I put them all in a big market pot at the end of my d'way for whoever wants some.
Karen, sorry your plans didn't go the way you expected today. Wind & rain have been playing havoc with mine too all month. I didn't even open my GH today because of the damp chill in the air. Hope you get the schedule for the museum figured out. The award service is for the same person you are naming the museum after right? Could you combine them?
Wendy we have a Blueberry Festival on the island in May (I think) but it does involve blueberries.

Gayle, I messaged someone from the company who is doing the Hometown Hero Award. As it turns out, after we corrected the director on the timing he got in touch with them and changed things. I'm sure he never thought he would have to tell us any of that. Unfortunately, the home office had already sent out the text messages and paper invitations with the wrong time. They will be sending out new invitations with the correct time on it. I am guessing what will happen is after we do our presentation on the new name of the museum, they will do their award presentation to Jack's widow/family. Just goes to show how important communication can be. I'm glad you got your planned work done. Sorry about the little oops with the greenhouse. It sounds like you covered things fine with the board.
