Good morning. 55, going to 71, with cloudy sky, and rain starting around 3 pm. It rained pretty good during the night. Don't know how much we got.
Nothing today except TV and computer. I didn't sleep much again last night, so I hope there is a nap coming.
Have a good day.
Leroy

Good rainy morning everyone. First off, Leroy, I am so sorry I misread your post few days ago. I thought you were pain free and I understand you’re not. I hate pain and don’t like to see others with it. Didn’t get here yesterday, even to read. Everyone kept me busy yesterday to the point I’m pooped out this morning. Have to make a quick run out for more food for the Rotary food drive tomorrow, the bags are larger this time and want to make sure they’re filled. Then home to rest up for the rest of the day. Out for coffee, lots of yakking, out for lunch, more yakking. Then DD2 cooked dinner. There were 8 of us. Fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Cordon bleu, and Strawberry Yogurt Bundt cake for dessert. So I’ll be back to read and try to catch up with you all. Jan

I knew I forgot something and it turns out I forgot to post. I hope you all are in a better mood than I am. It is cloudy, and feels cold at 49 degrees, and the wind is driving me crazy. We must have a 40mph wind out there that the gusts sound like they are tearing things odd the house. They said we were to have a day of showers but so far we have had .09" but the way the wind is blowing I don't think it is going to fast to hit the ground. I was going to clean the house a little but that will have to wait for another day. I got a shipment of cat food and litter. Couldn't lift the box so had to open it out in the wind and carry it in piece by piece. None of this seems so bad so not sure why I am in such a bad mood and cranky. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Have a good day.

Just checking in. Valerie text this morning that they postponed her treatment until next week in hopes that the prednisone starts working on her hip and shoulder pain.
We went down early for breakfast because I thought there was heavy rain coming in about the time we normally go down. Nope, I checked the radar and the system split and it went around us. Yeah, the best we got today was a few sprinkles.
I did a little yard work yesterday afternoon and that was it. I didn't do much today. Thinking about a new crochet project, but I haven't decided on anything yet. I should work on that cupcake vest that's laying in wait on a table in my bedroom. It's been waiting for about a year and a half so far. It's the one I was creating, so I still haven't figured out yet how to do the top shoulder area, but I need to do some more researching.
Gonna warm up the leftover pork steak for supper. I'll make some potatoes and veggies to go with.

I just got this on my phone and wonder if Leroy and Connie are okay:
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A tornado plowed through suburban Omaha, Nebraska, on Friday afternoon, damaging hundreds of homes and other structures as the twister tore for miles along farmland and into subdivisions. Injuries were reported but it wasn’t yet clear if anyone was killed in the storm.
Multiple tornadoes were reported in Nebraska but the most destructive storm moved from a largely rural area into suburbs northwest of Omaha, a city of 485,000 people.

Good evening. It was quite the night for storms in quite a bit of Nebraska. Tornado alley! The town of Elkhorn (just west of Omaha) got hit very hard today....lots of homes damaged, then it moved on to Bennington, north and east of Elkhorn. The storm sirens were going off just as I got home today. We got lots of rain and hail twice but as far as I know, no real damage. Tornadoes did not go thru our area that I know of. A later series of storms that turned into tornados passed over us and one hit the Omaha airport, before it crossed the river and headed on up northerly across Council Bluffs and other towns in a northeasterly path. There were tornadoes out in the western part of the state as well. Lincoln area got hit. I hurried to make the tacos for our supper as the phone went off that said go to your basement. We were busy unpacking the groceries etc. I got the tacos done and served each of us our tacos...then I went to the basement and listened to the hail. DH said he wasn't moving to the basement...a little bull headed, dontcha know! We are okay and I fully believe that Leroy is as well as I have not heard of damage in his area. I think it is all done by now and in fact the sun even shone for abit after all that!
I got the quilt & backing pressed and then called the Jo Anne the quilter and told her I was bringing it to her today. She also had a couple ladies in from Lincoln with a quilt for her to do. The one lady bought a big commercial roll of batting from her as this lady makes quilts for kids in the hospital. She has her larger quilts done by JoAnne. I am hoping she can get it done in time for me to get it bound and wrapped for DGS's college graduation May 17th. If she can't, then she can't but I know she will try. Of course we had to visit a bit then I headed out hoping to find some Gsales but never saw a one. Usually by this time in April, there have been lots of them. I stopped at the Goodwill near JoAnne's hoping to find some patio/backyard furniture but they had nothing. I did get myself a couple tops, some cutlery for LOMB and a nice basket for ??? who knows! Then I headed across town to Aldi and got a bunch of things...what I had guessed would be $85 turned out to be $115...prices have surely gone up. Headed home as I was very tired by this time and not expecting to be greeted with storms.
We are ok and much better off than many many people in the Omaha area tonight. A tornado that was very damaging hit Blair which is about 25 miles north of Omaha and hung there for about 45 minutes. I have not heard the reports from Blair but I am imagining it was pretty bad there too. My friend Christi lives south of there in Ft Calhoun. I have not heard her town mentioned so I pray she is safe and well and did not get damage.
Have a good night!
