Good morning! It's below freezing and clear this morning. Wind kept the frost away, thank goodness. I was going to make Milt's meatloaf, but discovered I didn't have evaporated milk so switched to TOH's "No-Fuss Meatloaf". I fussed a little in that I added a drained can of spicy diced tomatoes to the mix and used some of the tomato liquid instead of water. I used equal parts beef and pork instead of all beef. Tonight we are having more salmon chowder. Made another big dent in the room we call our walk-in closet. Emptied a big tote that had dried beans, soup mixes and pasta. Will donate most. There was a bit of a problem getting the water flowing upstairs. The plumber 'forget' he disconnected the intake hose to the dishwasher! We had some water dripping onto my counter downstairs and there is a wet patch in the ceiling. Hope it will all dry w/o a stain. Electrician is coming again today. He was banging away so furiously on something down in the cellar that I had a few things fall to the floor! No damage. I paid for our new window treatments, and they will be installed sometime after May 16th which is our closing date. Things may get a little hectic (more hectic!?!?) with arranging delivery of our new bedroom furniture, the furniture we are moving, and all of the 'little' stuff we are taking. Have a super day! Waving!

Good morning. It is 21°this morning and sunny. Will warm up to 50°. Thanks everyone for the well wishes with work yesterday. It went very smoothly except there are some days when I am not too smart. I had one other little job there for the week but had it scheduled for today. It is no big deal except it would have been one less thing I have to do today. I have one job today that I am hoping the store has completed as I don't really want to do it. It is setting up a cardboard display for sunglasses and it is a real pain for one person. I have done 2 and had to get store help on both of them. Also they didn't give us anymore time and we have to also complete the monthly refresh of all of the Foster Grant permanent displays which take a full hour always in this store if not more. Oh well it will all get done. My main concern is I still don't have the thermometer for the greenhouse set up online yet. I tried last night but couldn't get the site to work. I am not worried about turning the heat of from my phone but I may need an exhaust fan turned on during the day. There is no chat or anything with Wunderground for help.
Ann, it there is any discoloring of the ceiling I would think the plumber would be responsible for fixing it. You don't need one more thing to worry about. You have a lot on your plate as it is. Besides sorting and packing you are going to be busy juggling timing for deliveries and moving itself.
Have a great day.

Good morning friends.
Ann- So much work for you right now. Take it easy and don't over do! I hope the plumber should be responsible for that error on his part. If He has insurance so it should be covered.
Bet- I hope the work goes fast today and no problems.
Lori- I read you note to Tammy on your DH making that Chicken Pot pie stew. It does look like something that would be good for a crowd. I am going to try it and half it for us.
I was supposed to work today but the Cafe got cancelled this morning as too many students out today.

Good morning all. A nice bright sunny day even tho it started out pretty cool. At 9 am, it's only just above freezing and if we're lucky we should make it to the mid 40s this afternoon. Warmer days are coming tho. I've just taken a meatloaf pack out of the freezer. One of our local stores makes up a pack of equal quantities of beef, pork and veal and that makes a great meatloaf. We'll have that with some smashed potatoes and another veggie, yet to be determined altho it could be rutabaga for me and Brussels sprouts for hubby. Your days certainly have a routine to them Ann, sort and pack, sort and pack. It will come to an end . . one day. I agree the plumber has to accept responsibility for what happened. A nice day to be out and about Bet. Hope it's a smooth day at work. I like the idea of halfing Tammy's recipe too Chris altho if you made the full thing, we could come and help you eat it. Enjoy your unexpected day off. It is such a nice day here that I am taking myself off to another town to shop. I need to go there anyway at some point soon and today seems like a good one to do it, so time to get a move on. Have a great day.

Good morning to all! Today is National Zucchini Bread Day. I have some grated and ready to go zucchini from the other day still in my refrigerator, so am seriously thinking of try a new recipe to me for a Lemon Zucchini Bread. Rather than just one larger loaf, I would bake them in my mini pans so I could share a few with Fred, DH's BF who loves the quick breads.
Going to double the Chicken Chow Mein today so I can take a little to DD this weekend and put some aside in the freezer for another day.
This morning DH said he's glad there is only 5 more Fridays to go. From the beginning, he's always been told to send anyone that cuts in the lunch line to the end. Usually he says they grumble, say he's got the wrong person, but they go to the end and wait. Yesterday he said one student went off on him and called him every name in the book and then pushed around a few other students having their trays spill everywhere. As he stepped to the side to inform the manager of what was happening, the fire alarm went off. Although DH nor any of the lunchroom staff saw the student pull the alarm, many students said he did. Later, while standing outdoors, just minutes after the fire department gave the all clear to go back inside, the student came over to the lunchroom staff and said, "When I don't get my way, that's what I do, react. Tomorrow, you better give me my lunch if I go through your line." The manager heard this and said she and either the VP or Principal will be waiting for him to try it again. OMG, if it's not one thing, it's another. Crossing my fingers today will be better for all involved.
From 3-5 today, DH has a workshop/meeting (to learn the new paperwork that must be filed after summer breakfast and lunch daily). It is downtown at the main library relating to the free gov't program of feeding the kids (either at the park or at one of the schools). He loved it last summer and was really looking forward to it again this year, but I wasn't so sure after yesterday. He just called while on his lunch break and said he's going to go straight over from work as there is no time to double back home and find parking. That will give me a few extra hours to spend in the kitchen getting things done, so I'm going to get a move on it. I'll be back later to see what everyone is up to. Have a great day, friends! Lori

Yesterday was a busy day for me. DD came to set up my new computer and then took me to a doctor's. I refuse to drive those very high roads at the so called spaghetti junction. No, huh uh. The new computer is only slightly different so I am getting used to it today. I see everyone remains busy here. Temp is in the mid 70s with rain the next few days. Supper tonite will be beef stew from leftovers, the best part as far as I'm concerned. Cheddar garlic biscuits on the side. Hmmm, this print looks tiny. Wonder if it's my new computer? Here goes!

A quick hello this evening---I'm tired. I was pleased with the Lemon Zucchini Bread---got nine mini loaves, one which DH just had for his dessert. A keeper, he said. Dinner this evening was just okay. I've been making this Chicken Chow Mein for years and was hungry for some, but I didn't care for it tonight, just didn't hit the spot for some reason. Will talk to you again tomorrow. Goodnight, friends. Lori

Good evening, We just finished supper. I made pork tenderloin medallions in mustard cream sauce, Stove Top stuffing (pork flavor), and baked sweet potatoes. The pork flavor stuffing is the only flavor I like. My usual store does not carry it but I found it yesterday when I visited that other store.
Lori, I am somewhat shocked but not too surprised at the attitude of that student. He is a spoiled brat, and probably throws a fit, gets his way all the time. I hope he gets what's coming to him.
Hope you enjoyed the day off Chris.
Ann, sure hope there is no stain on your ceiling from the water.
Hope you are learning the ins and outs of the new computer Helen. I feel your pain! I dislike change immensely!
We did well at the shop today. Made just over $500.00. My guy Bobby got a lot of things carted off to storage that were taking up room, so that feels good. Things are moving right along with the furniture sale next week. We are going to run a couple ads in the paper so that should bring a pretty good crowd from town.
Waving to all. Where is mamma today?
Edited to add: DH went to urgent care today. He has an upper respitory infection so has meds now to help. Also, we have a renter for 3 days out in the apartment so it will be off limits for a couple of days. Luckily laundry is caught up and I have meat in the freezer in the house to use. Tomorrow there is no cooking for me as we will be going out for Mexican food-DH's treat for his staff.
