Good morning! It's cool and cloudy this morning. Should be getting some rain showers throughout the day. Chicken was really good last night. I had one of those humongous chicken breasts that I cut into quarters. I used half of the onions called for, and it was plenty. I also couldn't see that a stick of butter was necessary so I used half called for with a little garlic infused oil to stabilize the butter. Had some of the butter mixture left and will use on vegetables. Tonight we are having meatloaf, the Aldi Greek stuffed pasta, and green beans. One of my chores yesterday was sorting through plastic storage bags, tinfoil, etc.. I removed all of the bags from boxes and put them in labeled zipper bags...took up way less space. Won't need non-stick foil and snack bags for quite a while!!! LOL Plumber comes to reconnect the water lines upstairs, and the electrician will be installing detectors on the second floor. I will continue my work...have to come up with a plan for sorting packed boxes I'm taking and stuff I have to leave out for auction photos. Hope to get back to chat later this afternoon. Enjoy your morning! Waving!

Good morning. It dull but mild, about 46 just before 7am. Rain may or may not appear, the forecast has changed so many times already today 🤔. Yesterday was a canning day and then we took our senior canner out for lunch to celebrate her 90th birthday, which is actually today. We stuck to making sweet jams yesterday as we didn't want to invade the restaurant reeking of onions! Unfortunately our waitress wasn't the best, nor was the lunch - they mostly arrived lukewarm, which for fish and chips (which several of us ordered) is not good. I plan on contacting the restaurant later today. I think our 'guest of honour' enjoyed herself nevertheless. Not sure yet where today will take me, other than a nap as I woke at 3.15 and that was the end of sleep for me. Have an enjoyable Wednesday 😉.

Good morning friends. Ann- Still so much for you to get done. I hope yu can come up with a good plan for the boxes. I have a bunch down in the basement I will be going through today for our town wide yard sale in the 22nd of June. After that all will go to recycling station reuse shop. Tasty- We could have talked this early dark! LOL I was awake and could not get back to sleep either. Sorry you had a not-so-good experience at the local restaurant yesterday. Maybe you should have walked in smelling of onions and they would have waited on you faster in hopes of getting you out faster! LOL Nothing really pressing planned for today but some sorting of those boxes in the basement. Which may turn into a sewing spree! LOL Too close to the sewing machine down there!
I am enjoying my mocha this morning and will get busy later.

Chris and Ann, y'all are setting a great example of clearing out and getting rid of all the "stuff" -- it's one of those jobs that is easy to start but hard to keep going with. Kudos to y'all!
Tasty, sorry about your disappointing lunch, especially since it was a 90th birthday celebration. Glad she enjoyed it anyway.
Elaine, hope you weren't up too late last night doing laundry.
Not too much going on today -- at least that is my hope!

Good morning. It is 45°here this morning and showers for the day. I have a 6 1/2 job to do today so the weather doesn't really matter to me. I can't say that I got anywhere near as much accomplished as I plan with my 3 day weekend. The list is still long. I spent 7 hours in 2 days on chat with tech regarding my new internet equipment that I bought and isn't working correctly. It still isn't finished but I need some time to clear my head before I go back at it with them again. We need to start from square one and determine if there is something wrong with the equipment. DGD did come up Monday and we got one greenhouse up and I moved some plants in yesterday. Spent a lot of time getting the heat setup and working. With all of the power outages we have had lately all of my smart plugs are not working. Took for ever to get the 2 I needed for heat and fans working. Now to get the thermometer back on line. A lot of the problem is caused because of my email change as I can't change the email on some of my accounts as they can't email the prior email address to confirm it is me. What a headache. These are accounts I never thought of before the email expired. Just things I don't use often. Got 4 loads of laundry done one day. Not sure when I posted here last or what I posted.
Well unfortunately my hair is about dry and time to get ready to go to work. Busy the next 3 days. However, if things stay as they are next week I may be able to work Monday and Tuesday and have 5 day straight off. Time will tell.
Have a great day.
Bet

Hello and good Wednesday morning to all! Today is National Sauvignon Blanc Day and National Pigs-in-a-Blanket Day.
Just taking a quick break. By 7:30 this morning I had baked 4 chicken breasts--they are cool and now waiting for me to shred 1 and cut into chunks the other 3. The shredded on I will use on top of a salad today for our dinner. Lots of other yummies on the salad too--beets, feta cheese, diced apple, cranberries, and almonds. The remaining chicken will be used in chow mien, maybe tomorrow.
Thanks everyone for sharing your decaf tea recipes with me yesterday. Using tea bags, I'm planning to play around making several different ones today to see if I can come up with something I might enjoy.
Ann and Chris, you are putting me to shame. I have tons of large plastic containers piled up on two sides of the office, as well as in the guest bedroom and the garage that I need to go through, but I've stalled and just can't seem to motivate myself to begin the task again. I need a good kick in the rear!
Tasty, that's sad that your lunch service wasn't the best yesterday, especially being you took a friend there for her birthday. I will be curious to see what the restaurant has to say after you place your call.
Bet, you're most likely gone by now, but I'll wish you safe travels on the road and a stress-free, drama-free day at work. Crossing my fingers everything can go smoothly this week so you can enjoy that 5 days off from work next week.
Elza, have a great day. How was the performance last night?
Elaine, hope Bruce didn't do laundry all night and were able to get to bed at a decent hour. Thought of you around dinnertime last evening when MIL called DH and told him not to bother calling her at his usual time. They have numerous activities at her place, but she hasn't been going to many as of lately. She tried to learn how to play Mexican Train but told DH that she never could get the hang of it. Last night she was going to give Euchre a go of it. I am sure you have tons of ideas yourself of activities that maybe you could get your "summer people" interested in, but if you'd like, I will post for you what is listed on MIL's monthly calendar---let me know.
Back later. Lori

Hi friends, Thought I'd go ahead and post. I got to sleep in a tiny bit-so did DH! He came home yesterday evening and felt bad. He was running a fever so went to bed for a nap. He barely ate supper and retired early. He is somewhat better this morning, but still feels yucky. I had to take the dog to the groomer, so he rode along, then on our way back to town he dropped off the payroll info so they could run payroll. We just got back home. Laundry is caught up and house is clean, so today is a pretty much free day. As far as supper, I still have the pork tenderloin, and the sirloin steak. Not sure if DH will even be hungry though.
Bet, hope it works out for you to get 5 days off in a row.
Ann, sounds like a very busy household at your place today.
Lori, We won't be indulging in any of the food holidays offerings today.
Tasty, sorry about the sad lunch. Hopefully everyone had a nice time otherwise.
Today is overcast, but at least it's warm-about 71*.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day, whatever it holds for you!

Well Brian came over for a piece of wood and we ended up cleaning out the lean-to on the side of the shed and went to recycling and got rid of a whle jeep load of stuff! Nice to see it all cleaned out! Wasn't planned but nice to have it done!

Good afternoon. I posted this morning just after Chris and checked my spelling Etc. I remember seeing it on the site here. Right right now, when I looked it wasn't there! I don't understand it. Something is going nuts here. I hope it isn't because of my using dictation or I am in trouble.
I had made a comment about Chris's post. It certainly made its point, didn't it? LOL!
Talk to you tomorrow when things hopefully work!

Tamara, would you share your recipe for creamed chicken? We eat a lot of chicken but have never made that. Sounded good. Made Lemon Bars last week and pea salad for tonight. Both favorites here. Thanks.

Yes, I will share that recipe. I believe it came from someone who used to be on the old TOH BB, and is now on the facebook group for TOH. I called it creamed chicken but really it is named chicken pot pie stew, and it has no cream or milk. It was good though .We served it over biscuits.
On the lemon bars, I bought 3 boxes thinking it would be three 9x13 pans. I usually make 3 of that size pans of dessert. Well, shame on me, these boxes only called for 8x8 pans! Si I took 3 small pans of lemon bars, and also baked a chocolate cake, so they would not run out of dessert.
I am not sure how well the pea salad went over, I'll have to check on that. I have held off making it for quite awhile, not sure if anyone, or how many would eat it.
I will post the recipe on a separate post since Bet has requested we do that.
I ran into a grocery store very close to the dog groomer, and I picked up a few items. I was able to find cubed pork steaks. We love those but my favorite store in town hardly ever has them, and Walmart did not have any. That might be what I fix for supper. It really depends on DH's appetite.

Thanks for the Chicken Recipe, Tamara….if it is served over Biscuits, my husband will want Angel Biscuits. My Lemon bars recipe makes a 9x13 pan and my pea salad is just the old recipe I found years ago and it is my go to salad for a quickie. Because the oven here in the cottage is smaller than a standard size oven and being just the 2 of us, I decided to try the Krusteaz Meyer Lemon Pound Cake…turned out kind of small but looks good. You sure do a lot of cooking and all sound good .

Lori, we thoroughly enjoyed the concert. This school does a good job of keeping the program moving. 3 choirs, band, orchestra, and then combined choir each did 2 or 3 short pieces each -- all very well, especially for elementary school students -- and were done in 1 hour! Our great-niece Noel was so cute. When her choir went on stage we could tell the exact moment she spotted her family -- a big smile and nod of her head. I'm glad we could go. We'll do it again next Tuesday for her older sister.
