Good morning! It's a bit cooler this morning at 59° with clear full moon skies. Yesterday's temp got up to 57°. Lovely! Salmon corn chowder was really yummy. Will have more later on this week. Tonight we are having ham, fried potatoes and shredded Brussels sprouts. Did get some more sorting done. It will be a same-o, same-o day...tempus fugit! Enjoy your day! Waving!

Good morning friends.
Ann- I am not sure we ever got above 45° yesterday here. Was a cold, raw feeling day.
I had a busy weekend. Niece was here all weekend and we packed in a a lot of stuff! She wanted to go shopping for some summer clothes so we made a trip to Old Navy. I ended up getting Dan some new t-shirts and myself some new sun dresses and shorts. We then went to a fund raiser pop up grill. Was a great meal.
I have an eye appointment today that I really need to reschedule. I need to go pick up DGD this afternoon and don't want to do that when she has dilated my eyes. It is just a yearly check up so will just reschedule.

Good morning all. I'm not sure that cool describes the start this morning, I see signs of frost and hubby is supposed to golf about 8.30. We'll see. However, the sun is shining and it looks lovely. Hubby finished painting the bedroom yesterday so today I'd like to get in there and polish the furniture, vacuum thoroughly and maybe even get the windows cleaned. I also have an eye appointment this afternoon so that should fill my day quite nicely. Supper will be something from the freezer, perhaps chili over baked potatoes. Have a great day friends.

Hello there and good morning to one and all! Besides today being Earth Day, it is National Jellybean Day and for any of my Jewish friends, Passover begins today as well. Although I'm not Jewish, we'll sort of celebrate Passover by having Chicken Matzo Ball Soup this evening for our dinner.
Our dinner last evening was very, very disappointing; the ribs we had purchased from Costco were so fatty that neither of us could enjoy our meal. Glad we only bought one slab and it's now gone from the freezer. Maybe it was just that piece of meat we picked up, but we were turned off to the point where we will no longer buy any meat from Costco and have no plans to renew our membership when it expires. Will stick with BJ's, where we had a membership before for umpteen years and never had any problem with their meats.
Load of whites already washed and into the dryer this morning as well as the dishwasher is now emptied from last night. Currently 71* and cloudy, we are to climb to 81* later today. Our "cool" front went through around 1:30 this morning. Got a quick 2-minute downpour, that was it for the liquid. However, the rolling thunder kept up for about 45 minutes and I had to move from the bed to the Lazy Boy before I could fall back to sleep.
Have a great day, friends. Got some work on the computer I need to take care of, so need to get moving here this morning. Wishing you a beautiful day! Lori

Good morning. It was 27°here this morning but is to be sunny all day. Doesn't appear to be much of any wind at the moment. We might hit 50°if we are lucky. My plans are to continue here in the house today plus I really need to work on some of the Lions' stuff on my list as it is time sensitive. I guess tomorrow will be my day outside. The loaf of bread I mixed up yesterday I pulled out of the refrigerator as soon as I got up and it is already in the oven. It smells so good in here right now.
Well sitting here isn't getting anything done. I will check back later.
Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. Ann, yes, the sorting seems like it’s never ending, but you’ll get there. When? I can’t even tell you. Hang in there. Chris, was wondering where you were. Sounds like you were having fun! We have an old navy here, should check it out for summer t’s too. Lori, just blows my mind, your experience with the Costco near you. I remember what you said about the chocolate chips. You must have bought Kirkland brand, I buy Chipits brand at my Costco. Never tried the Kirkland, and now I never will. Haven’t bought much meat there but the ones we have, we haven’t had any problem. Don’t do fatty here, both of us have vascular issues. Buy most of our meat at Safeway, when it’s on sale we stock up. Laundry’s caught up, will have to put the dishwasher on, maybe after lunch. I think I can squeeze those dishes in. Just lost my post when I went to check our weather but was able to get it back. Bet, 42* here, going up to 64*,maybe. Sun is shining. Love the scent of baking bread. No idea what’s for supper, haven’t even talked about it. Off to a bit of shopping later, maybe we’ll talk about it then. Jan

Good morning
A beautiful morning but I was too tired to walk this morning so we took the cart to the pet area. Mary and Emily got there the same time as we did so we got to chat and play. Good way to start the day.
Now it's coffee and cookie time. A large load of towels are in the washer swishing around. That is all that I plan on doing today.
Lynda and I both loved our experience at the new church. It felt like home and we are going back. A lady helped me with where and how to sign up for the grief support group. It's not at this church but at a Lutheran church close by. In the afternoon I had two people call me saying that they will meet me at the church and help me get set for the meeting. One lady is from the church I am attending now and one from the church where the meeting is being help. I thought that was so nice. I don't like doing anything alone and new people and places send my anxiety level upward. Their help has gotten me to relax more. The grief support group meets for 13 weeks and anyone can attend longer if they feel a need. Let me tell you, this move is way out of my comfort level, but I need this.
Not sure about lunch and supper may be a tv dinner of sorts. Lynda and I had a big two for one meal at BK yesterday so I had better not over indulge again today. I need to get rid of 25 pounds.

Jan, yes, the Kirkland brand of chocolate chips is what I bought from Costco---it was the only brand they had. While we were at Disney, one evening my DH ate some chocolate cookies I made; the next morning he asked if those cookies had the Costco brand chips in them. I said yes and he told me to throw them out and never make any cookie or dessert with them again as he had the worse stomachache all night. Never heard of the Chipits brand, but looking on Amazon I think I saw they were made by Hershey's.
mamma, very happy to read that you were pleased with the church you attended yesterday; sounds like very friendly and kind people that you could make some new friends with. Also, I am so proud of you for taking that step forward and signing up for the grief support group. When does it begin? I'll be praying that it will offer you some much needed comfort in the days to follow.
Chris, is school just about over this semester for your DGD? Does she have any plans for the summer?
Tasty, good luck with your eye doctor appointment this afternoon. I finally heard back on the field-test I did on the 10th, and the doctor said my eyes were looking good, no sign of glaucoma.
Bet, hope you will be happy with the results of the new bread you are baking today. Ah, nothing like the smell of fresh baked bread!
Ann, may today bring you another successful day of sorting/packing.
Yikes, did everyone see that the price of stamps are going up again on July 14th? I think I heard it's another 5-cent jump. Will probably need to buy some more forever stamps before then.
Later, Lori

Lori the support group meets this morning for two hours. Thank you for your support. Can you believe I still have jelly beans from Easter? I love the spiced jelly beans and the black ones. :) I bought a roll of forever stamps just before the last price hike. I don't mail much at all anymore but do like to have some on hand for special cards. I'm afraid that mailing things will be even less now. Many things are taken care of through the internet so I'm sure that is why magazines are fading and even newspapers. My home town has shut done the local newspaper! Even the internet paper is shutting down. How do people keep up on local news or things that they need to know? So many changes and some not so good.

Good morning, all. It's just barely morning here. I had a session with my PT guy this morning. He has been giving me some good advice about article about continuing my photography, both from a wheelchair and a walker. I have found some adaptive devices on Amazon and have some ideas.
Mamma, I am so glad you have found a church you like. I think you're going to find a big difference as you go along.
I used to belong to BJ's but for a single person it was too tempting to buy large amounts. Now I have Amazon which is almost as bad. I was told this morning that the geese who are nesting on the property have a bunch of little yellow goslings owing them. This should be interesting. Happy Earth Day.
Have a good day all!

Birdy, I am sorry for I forgot to mention earlier today...I think it is absolutely wonderful that you have a window table for one to look out on the grounds and enjoy the wildlife while eating your meals. I would find that so peaceful and relaxing! That being said, it's also sad that your fellow residents can't/don't want to enjoy this with you. Their loss, your gain. Praying that your fried chicken days are getting closer and closer my friend. Lori

Lori, thank you for the kind thoughts. I'm afraid that there are a fair number of people who find nature to be boring. So sad when it keeps you in touch with life! Anyway, my table seat is a treat!
I was listening to the Milk Street podcast yesterday. Someone had called in about having a failure in a recipe she had made successfully for years. Apparently, she had used a supermarket brand chocolate chip for the first time. It didn't melt the same as good chocolate chips and it ruined her recipe. When you were talking about the different brands like Kirkland, that came to mind.
For those of you who enjoy listening to podcasts, I have been following Christopher Kimball on the Milk Street Radio podcast and The Splendid Table. Both of those are really interesting for those people who enjoy food and cooking. Chris won an award for his not too long ago.

Hi. Just getting ready to head to the clubhouse for cards. We played shuffleboard but was a little to warm , those days will soon be over.
Ann- glad you are making progress.
Birdy- I would be sitting right beside you. I love sitting outside watching nature. I miss it from the lake but..... I watch the doves and cackles taking baths and of course the hummingbirds. We also have hawks and there is an owl that you here every once in awhile.
Mamma- hope the church continues to work out. Glad you also found a grief group.
Time to go.
