COMMENTS:
emr-I made Tammy's Baked Spaghetti for our dinner Friday night. I actually baked it on Thursday night so it could be reheated for a quick and easy meal the next day.
This was so easy to put together and cooked up nicely. I used browned ground beef from my freezer and a 28-oz. can of Trader Joe's marinara sauce. I had never used uncooked pasta in a baked dish but the spaghetti was nice and tender. I made it in two 8x8 pans, planning to freeze one of them. I did a quick taste test after they were done Thursday night and was pleased with how it turned out. Like many pasta dishes, I think it was better the next night! I added a little extra cheese and reheated it at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. DH went back for seconds, so that's always a good sign. One pan was enough for a meal for the two of us, and leftovers for lunch.
I would say, if you are making this in 2 pans like I did, it would be easier to put the pasta and ground beef in the pans first, and then divide the tomato sauce between them. I had to do some adjusting to get the right balance of pasta and sauce between 2 pans. I also would probably use 8 oz. of pasta, just because I thought it could use a little more, and to make it easier to measure.
I will definitely make this again! I think it would be great for a one-dish dinner when feeding a crowd, since it can be mixed up ahead of time and served easily. As Tammy said, you could add vegetables -- mushrooms, spinach, olives, peppers, etc.
I also want to try it in the crock pot and see if that works.
